A New Home for the New Year Men of Standard Move into the James House Last month, we introduced you to our Men of Standard ministry in Westminster, MD, It all started when a little church was planted out of a heart to give addiction recovery members a place to worship where they felt they fit in. Everett and Robin Frye began Crossroads Restoration church to minister to recovering community members and give them a sense of belonging and accountability. Our Church now partners with them in support of their commitment to establishing a faith-based recovery program that worked to transform members on the inside as well as the outside. Men of Standard became a fully functioning ministry. Members must complete 3 tiers of the program before being released (or graduate). Now, these men have begun to step out in leadership through missions around our county and across borders, in the name of Jesus, with the help and support of Crossroads Church. Tito, the first Men of Standard graduate, helped plant Men of Standard with Everett and is now running and operating two further missions with other men from the group. He oversees our Nica Works! partnership, and runs the shop that collects, breaks down, and packages the bikes to send to Nicaragua for restoration and resale. In addition, he leads our partnership with Helping Up Mission in Baltimore, to bring the Food Pipeline ministry to those in need in Carroll County. Last month, the community home for Men of Standard was condemned after a large fire destroyed the property. The men were evacuated, cared for, provided for, and hosted through church members and Helping Up Missions. Through God s grace they have found a new home officially moved into James House in Taneytown, MD on December 11th. The owners, Roxanne and James (who live next door), want to continue to be involved with recovery ministry. The James house has been filling needs in recovery through Carroll County for quite a few years and are extremely excited about the new possibilities they will be part of with Men of Standard. James is a mechanic and will be providing mechanical training to many men in the program in his garage right on the property. The home is more spacious and will cost less per month for the ministry as James and Roxanne will be helping with utilities. God s continued faithfulness in providing and caring for these men is evident! Over the 2017 year, Men of Standard plan to finish the attic into additional bedroom space, as well as the summer kitchen as an office for Everett. Donations for building completions are welcome at any time! Contact Tim at tadams@crossroads140.com.

Taking God s Love Abroad We re Headed to Nicaragua! Miguel (a Men of Standard Graduate) and our Missions team are preparing for a Medical trip to Nicaragua to assist in work at the local clinic serving the same area as our Nica Works! bicycle ministry! NicaWorks! Is an independent ministry that was started by Crossroads and another partner church. NicaWorks! mission is to help impoverished Nicaraguans break the cycle of intergenerational poverty by providing real opportunities for economic, social, educational, and spiritual growth. They work in several communities with Nicaraguan church partners to share the Gospel and address the root causes of poverty. There focus is on providing increased access to education, employment, healthcare, and agricultural development. Teams from Crossroads take trips to serve in these two communities several times per year. A team 15 folks from Crossroads will be heading to Nicaragua with our strategic partner Nicaworks! January 12th to the 17th. Our team will be hosting medical clinics in four of the communities that NicaWorks! Tim Adams and Steph Albright head our Missions ministry at Crossroads and partner with many local ministries and teams like Crossroads Restoration to take the love of God outside our walls. We believe that missions is Loving people who find themselves in a hard place by offering practical hope, caring relationships, and tools to grow in their spiritual life so they can experience grace, mercy, dignity and transformational life change. We want people everywhere to know our missions philosophy here at Crossroads Church, says Tim, and that the love of God has no boundaries. Current needs for our trip are listed on the back of this story in our SERVE section of the monthly. If you re interested in donating some much needed items for our trip, participating in a trip yourself, or getting involved with Men of Standard, contact Steph - salbright@crossroads140.com.
