REFLECTIONS & EVENTS Happy Thanksgiving- Expression of Love and Hope Today we join with our brothers and sisters in this country in thanking Almighty God Whose love is everlasting for all His blessings. This is the love and hope we celebrate at every Eucharistic celebration. In the celebration of the Eucharist we celebrate God s love manifested in the history of Israel and, in the Church, in Jesus Christ. We celebrate and remember what God has done leading us to love Him and we look forward to what He has promised to us, in Jesus Christ, filling us with hope. This frees us from hopelessness by contemplating what God has given us like the beautiful world and its wonders especially human beings and leads us to hope to what God has prepared for us. As we give thanks let us rejoice in what we have and give thanks for all that brings us joy and hope, those who love us like our families and friends and all who support and encourage us in life. Let us express our gratitude by loving and forgiving one another bringing hope to the world. Let us reach out to one another especially those who have lost hope and do not feel the joy of gratitude. I thank God for this community, the staff, ministers, volunteers and all parishioners who support, challenge and pray for me. May God give all a wonderful Thanksgiving. May all be full of love and hope as they give thanks for all the blessings that come from God. First Sunday of Advent Calls Us to Hope In today s Gospel, Jesus challenges us to be awake waiting in joy for His return. As we express at every Mass, we await His Glorious Coming with fullness of Salvation for His people. Jesus invites us to rejoice in hope as we await Him at the same time bringing this hope of God s love to those around us especially those who are hungry for food and for love and forgiveness. ~Fr.
