SHARING OF THE PEACE [P] The peace of the Lord be with you always. And also with you. (Share your peace, with one another, and then please be seated.) GOD ENCOUNTERS HIS PEOPLE THROUGH HIS WORD 1 st Reading Genesis 6:9-14,19-22 Read by Janet Riddell These are the descendants of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation; Noah walked with God. And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight, and the earth was filled with violence. And God saw that the earth was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its ways upon the earth. And God said to Noah, "I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence because of them; now I am going to destroy them along with the earth. Make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch. And of every living thing, of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground according to its kind, two of every kind shall come in to you, to keep them alive. Also take with you every kind of food that is eaten, and store it up; and it shall serve as food for you and for them." Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him. Psalm 29:1-3, 10-11 Led by Janet Riddell [W] Ascribe to the LORD, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. [M] Ascribe to the LORD the glory of his name; worship the LORD in holy splendor. [W] The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD, over mighty waters. [M] The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD sits enthroned as king forever. May the LORD give strength to his people! May the LORD bless his people with peace! CHORAL OFFERING: PSALM 100 THE LORD IS GOOD Worship Choir By Daniel C. Meyer 2 nd Reading Genesis 9:8-16 Read by Olivia Mitchell Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, "As for me, I am establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you, and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the domestic animals, and every animal of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark. I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth." God said, "This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in

the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth." [P] Lift up your heart and receive the Holy Gospel... Glory to you, O Lord. (spoken) Gospel Matthew 24:36-44 Read by Pastor Bob McKee But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them all away, so too will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two will be in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding meal together; one will be taken and one will be left. Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But understand this: if the owner of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour. [P] This is the Gospel of our Lord. Praise to you, O Christ. (spoken) MESSAGE NOAH S ARK Pastor Bob McKee SONG: EVEN SO COME APOSTLES CREED I believe in God the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. (*universal) GATHERING OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS (All members and guests, please sign in on the form in the pew pads when it is passed to you. Prayer requests collected when plates are brought forward.) STEWARDSHIP VIDEO: TIME

PRESENTATION OF OUR GIFTS Let us pray... Blessed are you, O Lord our God, maker of all things. Through your goodness you have blessed us with these gifts. With them we offer ourselves to your service and dedicate our lives to the care and redemption of all that you have made, for the sake of him who offered himself for us, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus and for all people according to their needs. CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS (Please stand) [P] Blessed be the holy Trinity, the one who fashions us, the one who heals us, the one who reforms us again and again. [P] [P] [P] Amen. Let us confess our sin, calling for God's transforming power. Source of all life, we confess that we have not allowed your grace to set us free. We fear that we are not good enough. We hear your word of love freely given to us, yet we expect others to earn it. We turn the church inward, rather than moving it outward. Forgive us. Stir us. Reform us to be a church powered by love, willing to speak for what is right, act for what is just, and seek the healing of your whole creation. Amen. God hears our cry and sends the Spirit to change us and to empower our lives in the world. Our sins are forgiven, God s love is unconditional, and we are raised up as God s people who will always be made new, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. WORDS OF INSTITUTION THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

LAMB OF GOD (music found pg. 112) Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; grant us peace, grant us peace. COMMUNION DISTRIBUTION - THE EUCHARIST (be seated) Our Lord Jesus is the host of his table. He invites all to come to him. Those who are baptized and believe in our Lord s presence...in, with, and under the bread and wine... are invited to commune by intinction. If you are not communing, please receive a blessing of the day. We come to his table via the center aisle, returning to our seats via the side aisles. If you are unable to come forward but wish the gifts Christ has for you, please notify an usher; and the servers will come to you. COMMUNION SONG: AT THE CROSS (LOVE RAN RED) POST COMMUNION BLESSING [P] The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you and keep you in his grace. Amen. (music is located in hymnal service music hymn #205) Thankful hearts and voices raise; tell ev ryone what God has done. Let all who seek the Lord rejoice and bear Christ s holy name.
