SERVING OTHERS ISN'T SIMPLY SOMETHING GOD ASKS US TO DO; IT'S ESSENTIAL FOR GROWTH IN ANYONE WHO IS COMMITTED TO FOLLOWING JESUS.

[MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT SERVING IS] I CAN USE MY TALENTS FOR MEANINGFUL WORK, HAVE SO MUCH FUN WITH OTHERS, AND BE CREATIVE. BUT MOST IMPORTANT FOR ME IS THE FELLOWSHIP THAT INVOLVES WORKING TOGETHER AND CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER AS A CHURCH FAMILY. YVONNE, TECH AND PRODUCTION

SERVE RIGHT NOW

GREETER GREETING AND USHERING TEAM When you re new, walking through the doors of a church can feel like the first day of school. Feeling welcome and a sense of belonging can open a heart to receive what the Lord has in store. When I started coming to Cornerstone I didn t know anybody. It was Roselyn at the front door that made me feel so welcome and so loved that I kept coming. Now, I want to give that to everyone who is coming to Cornerstone. Sunday morning greeter SET-UP & TEAR-DOWN TEAM LAKE MERCED CAMPUS The Lake Merced campus is unique it is set up and taken down each week. This team transforms a school gymnasium into a house of worship. They create the spaces where people come to heal, grow, and know the love of God. When I saw how hard people were working to make this campus happen, I wanted to lighten the load. This was my home campus; there was a need and I thought it was a great way to serve the Lord and His people. Lake Merced team member

[SERVING] REMINDS ME THAT MY WALK IS NOT ONLY ABOUT MY RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM [GOD], BUT ALSO ABOUT SHINING HIS LIGHT TO ALL. A SIMPLE SMILE AND A HAND EXTENDED IN LOVE CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE'S LIFE. LETTY, USHERING AND GREETING TEAM

SERVE BY COMMITMENT LEVEL

Most of us understand Jesus call to serve one another, but the thought of adding one more thing to our schedule seems daunting. It doesn't have to be! ONE-TIME COMMITMENT Many events throughout the year wouldn t be possible without volunteers. Many of our volunteers serve regularly on the weekends and therefore aren t able to help at these added special events. Examples include the following: Coffee Talk, Women s Ministry Baptism + BBQ Worship and Communion WCA Global Leadership Summit Easter Presentation and Services Christmas Presentation and Services Childcare for Christmas and Easter Services BENEFITS You may not have a schedule that allows for regular serving, but these one-time events can fit into almost anyone's schedule and still provide an opportunity to grow and serve others.

SHORT-TERM COMMITMENT At certain times of the year, every team needs extra help. Short term commitments are perfect for those who can t serve on a regular, long-term basis, but can set a short amount of time aside to serve the community each year. Examples include the following: Children's Camp Men s Retreat Easter Presentation and Services Christmas Presentation and Services Childcare for Christmas and Easter Services BENEFITS These short-term opportunities are very special experiences, especially during the holidays as we serve together as family. Perhaps you'd like to invest in the next generation but can t do so in an ongoing capacity. You can still make a difference and learn so much in the process serving short-term.

Every ministry team has different levels of commitment. Regardless of which level, a commitment to serving consistently is one of the best ways to experience growth and get to know others. LOW COMMITMENT A low commitment service level is serving 1x a month or serving in a seasonal ministry (i.e. our Men s and Women s Ministries), and usually needs only limited training. BENEFITS A great way for those who want to get connected and grow but have scheduling challenges. MEDIUM COMMITMENT The level at which most people serve A medium commitment level usually translates into serving 2x a month and involves modest training. BENEFITS Serving consistently is one of the best ways to plug into community and get to know a group of people on a regular basis.

COMMITMENT LEGEND + LOW COMMITMENT ++ MEDIUM COMMITMENT +++ HIGH COMMITMENT SHORT-TERM COMMITMENT + ++ +++ SHORT-TERM LOW MEDIUM HIGH HIGH COMMITMENT Teams such as the worship band and tech/production have positions that require a certain level of skill and talent, and need to work very closely with each other. Because of this tight collaboration, volunteers on these teams serve for the whole weekend (usually one weekend a month). Other high level commitments are weekend team leads and children/youth teachers. People who aspire to these positions often serve 3x per month and want to grow both in responsibility and leadership. BENEFITS This level of commitment has some of the best benefits of serving working closely with the pastors and worship leaders, participating in special pre-service prayer and worship times together, and developing close relationships.

SEEING HOW MUCH PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THE CHURCH AND THE AMOUNT OF EFFORT THEY PUT INTO THE WORSHIP, THE MESSAGE, AND EVEN THE STAGE DESIGNS... INSPIRED ME TO CONTRIBUTE. JESSE, TECH AND PRODUCTION TEAM

SERVE BY MINISTRY OR INTEREST

Whatever level you serve at, you are heeding the call of Christ and contributing to the growing process. It can also be a great opportunity to develop a unique skill, express a talent, or make a difference in the lives of others. PARKING TEAM ++ If you are good at Tetris, love wearing reflector yellow, and enjoy helping people, this is the ministry for you! The parking team is truly on the frontlines, welcoming people, directing cars, and serving as friendly ambassadors to the neighborhood rain or shine. We believe that welcome home starts as soon as someone pulls into our garage. Between services, there are chunks of downtime to talk and hang out. This team naturally fosters good relationships through that time. CONTACT Carlos Jimenez carlos@cornerstonesf.org

USHERING AND GREETING TEAM ++ +++ Ushers and Greeters are often a person s first impression of our church and community. Team members consider it a privilege to greet people warmly, ensure they have a seat, and help limit distractions. We aren t simply showing people into church, we re helping people experience God's love and a sense of belonging. CONTACT Pastor Paul Conti paul@cornerstonesf.org ORIENTATION MEETING Sunday, March 19 Mission Campus 1:30 3:30p

INFO TEAM + ++ Coming to a new church can be overwhelming. Remember the first time you came? While our team does provide information, the heart of this team is to connect with our community. You don t need to know all of the answers you can simply share what you do know and help find the answers that you don t know yet. CONTACT Pastor Sam Marcum sam@cornerstonesf.org

MISSION JAVA AND MERCED JAVA ++ At Mission and Merced Java, we stand by our motto: coffee is always a good idea. Beyond the caffeine and delicious breakfast items (like artisanal toast at Mission and donuts at Lake Merced), our team members love sharing Jesus' love through a welcoming smile and hospitality that goes beyond a cup of coffee. MISSION CONTACT Hannah-Love Shibley missionjava@cornerstonesf.org LAKE MERCED CONTACT Fernando Diaz mrdiazmendoza@gmail.com

TREEHOUSE CHILDREN S MINISTRY (Nursery, toddlers and K-6th graders) + ++ +++ You don t have to know the Bible cover-to-cover to serve in the Children s Ministry, although some have said teaching has actually helped them get to know it better! There are so many ways to help our children grow spiritually strong, including becoming a Sunday morning classroom helper or teacher, becoming a parent partner or worship leader, or helping with mid-week class and craft preparation or special events. Are you ready to have some fun?! CONTACT Pastor Diana Jones diana@cornerstonesf.org ORIENTATION MEETINGS Saturday, March 11 Sunday, March 19 Mission Campus Lake Merced Campus 9:30-11:30a 12:30 2:30p

ELEVATE YOUTH MINISTRY ++ +++ Can you really play dodgeball on Sunday morning and call it ministry? Yes! Our volunteers create a fun and welcoming environment where teens are encouraged to grow in their faith through relationships with peers, leaders, and Jesus. Elevate is a safe place for teenagers to talk about their struggles, learn, engage, and enjoy themselves. Sure, teens can seem a little intimidating, but you don t have to be their counselor, Bible teacher, or even that good at dodgeball. Sometimes, spending time with someone and encouraging them is all the ministry they need. If you like to hang out and can listen, consistently show up, and model what it looks like to actively pursue Jesus in the midst of life's struggles, this ministry is for you. CONTACT Larissa Campos larissa@cornerstonesf.org

TOGETHER disability MINISTRY ++ +++ Together is our inclusive community for young adults with diverse intellectual and developmental identities, where our friends with disabilities fully belong and each person can grow spiritually and relationally in Christ. Volunteers facilitate curriculum discussions, lead worship, serve as conversation partners, and extend friendship to young adults affected by various disabilities. CONTACT Barbara Jimenez barbara@cornerstonesf.org MEN S AND WOMEN S MINISTRIES + Men and Women are uniquely different, and with that in mind, our teams are excited to build experiences where we can forge lasting friendships and dig deeper into the life Jesus calls us to live. Purposed for relational and spiritual growth, there are a variety of ways to serve in the Men's and Women's Ministries. Whether you're interested in hospitality, worship, event planning, or leading a small group, we'd love to get you involved. MEN S CONTACT Pastor Kyung Kim kyung@cornerstonesf.org WOMEN S CONTACT Sheryl Brisbane women@cornerstonesf.org

TECH AND PRODUCTION TEAM +++ Like pushing buttons? Enjoy the intersection of art and technology? How about getting to play with cool gadgets? You're in the right place. Our Tech and Production Team plays a vital role in spreading the gospel to San Francisco, helping to create a unique worship and video experience, and expanding Cornerstone s ministry to the world through podcasts and live-streaming. As part of this team, you'll work behind the scenes but close to the action, coordinating closely with the worship team, pastors, and other creative/tech teams. No experience is necessary all you need is a heart to learn! CONTACT Vincent Nel vincent@cornerstonesf.org CREATIVE TEAM + ++ The creative team is an integral part of our media and technology-based culture. Do you have a desire to share your talent with the Cornerstone community? There are plenty of creative projects that we d love to get our artists involved in. Immediate Need: Photographers CONTACT Rick Narvarte rick@cornerstonesf.org

WORSHIP BAND +++ One of our worship team leaders often says, Music is a language that everybody understands. There are things that can be expressed through music more powerfully than any other medium. Just as the ushers bring people into the church building, the worship team seeks to usher people into the presence of God. Because music is so powerful, the worship band continually hones and practices their talents with humility and a spirit of excellence.
