Parish Ministries Evening Bible Study The Bible Plain and Simple Scripture plays a central role in our Catholic faith. The entire first half of Mass is the liturgy of the Word, with a homily applying the weekly scriptures to our lives. Yet, how many of us have actually read and studied the Bible and know what s in it? San Francisco Solano s Evening Bible Study is a multi-year course: The Bible Plain and Simple. Our mission is to discover the Bible systematically, verse-byverse, Genesis through Revelation, utilizing a combination of audio and video taught by renowned literary scholar, Dr. Bill Creasy, who has been called a Catholic Bible teacher extraordinaire! We are currently studying the Gospel of John. All attendees must register at the Logos Bible Study link: https://www.logosbiblestudy.com/group-study-registration Come join us at any time for coffee and dessert as we study the Bible. Recommended Bible: The Catholic Study Bible (Oxford Edition) Day: Your choice of Monday or Thursday evenings Time: 7:00 PM-8:30 PM Location: San Francisco Solano Catholic Church 2082 Antonio Pkwy, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688 **Meeting Rooms F-G** For more information, email Joni Marques at jonimmarques@gmail.com Eucharistic Adoration Our celebration of the Eucharist, the Mass, is the source and the summit of our faith. As Catholics, we proclaim our belief that the bread and wine consecrated during Mass become Christ Himself--His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity- Holy Communion. Once consecrated, it is not merely a piece of bread or cup of wine. At San Francisco Solano church, Eucharistic Adoration with Exposition is available every Friday beginning at 9 AM. On the first Friday of each month, Adoration takes place from 9 AM until 9 PM. All other Fridays of the month, Adoration takes place from 9 AM until 5 PM. As the morning Mass ends, the Blessed Sacrament is placed in a beautiful stand known as a monstrance on the main altar of the church, and Jesus Christ is exposed in the Blessed Sacrament for all to see. We must have committed worshippers scheduled at hourly intervals for visiting Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament to ensure that the Eucharist is never without veneration. There is an electronic sign-up on the parish website:www.sanfranciscosolanorsm.org Please prayerfully consider your availability to come to Adoration and spend time with Christ. You are welcome to come spend time in the presence of Christ even if you are not a scheduled adorer for as short or as long a time as you like. Any time you spend with Him is transforming. Women s Circle of Faith and Friendship A new season of Women's Circle of Faith & Friendship begins on Tuesday, September 11. You are invited to explore this program, which has been described as a spa for your soul. Women's Circle is a peer ministry for adult women of all ages and stages of life, offering an opportunity to nurture your spirituality, deepen your faith and build community with others. This season we will be using the book, Heaven Starts Now Becoming a Saint Day by Day, by Catholic Pastor and author Fr. John Riccardo. Fr. Riccardo helps us dive into the Scriptures so that we can apply them to our daily lives. In his inspiring and incisive way, Fr. Riccardo addresses the obstacles we all face in becoming mature disciples. How do we learn to forgive? How do we combat fear and understand suffering? How do we worship the Lord, love others as Christ loves us, and fully surrender our lives to God? Come join other women of the parish as we explore these questions. Together we can learn how to live as a reflection of Christ and see how Heaven can start now. Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 9:30-11:30 AM and are repeated at 6-8 PM. They continue until Tues., Nov. 27. There is a $20.00 fee for the program. which includes a copy of the book. For information, please email Lori LaFavre at lori@lclafavre.com. Registration will take place at the September 11 meeting. Parish Ministries Cursillo Invitation Cursillo is a short course on how to live the rest of your life in order to get to heaven. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ST. JOHN PAUL II COUNCIL 16488 GREETINGS, CHURCH! The Knights of Columbus believes in the motto In service to one. In service to all. Over the past 2 years, your KOC Council 16488 has performed both of these types of services but I would like to tell you about one in particular. Kellie Goff is a native of RSM and been a part of San Francisco Solano parish for all of her young life. She recently graduated from Xavier University and has decided to become a missionary and commit herself to preaching the Gospel abroad and serving the poor. The organization she is with is called FMC; it is a Catholic non-profit based in Louisiana. Recently she shared her plans to follow the Lord with your KOC Council and asked for financial support to help her with all of the expenses she will incur, such as training, housing and other needs, and of course prayer to help her on this journey. Many of the Knights stepped up to support her. This is an example of "In service to one." Our council will continue to support Kellie and her cause, and we know what she is doing is "In service to all." If you would like to support Kellie as well, contact me or go to https://www.familymissionscompany.com/ project/kgoff/. God bless you, Kellie!
