The Wrship Service A Christian Funeral r Memrial Service is an pprtunity t wrship Gd fr his faithfulness and lve, lift up the assurances f the Scriptures, and ffer a brief meditatin. Many families desire a eulgy f their lved ne which can be presented by a pastr r a member f the family. The service usually lasts less than an hur. Services may take place in ur Wrship Center, at a Funeral Hme, r at graveside. Wherever the service is held, it is apprpriate that the casket be clsed prir t the service. We can prvide a wrship bulletin cntaining the rder f service, a brief bituary, a list f family members and service participants. Our Wrship Center seating capacity is 450; and Hver Hall can cmfrtably seat abut 300. Our instrumental staff rganist and/r pianist are available fr the service. What t Cnsider fr a Memrial r Funeral Service All memrial r funeral services are wrship services. We give glry t Gd fr salvatin, hpe in eternal life, and seek Gd s cmfrt fr thse wh remain. The service itself cmbines apprpriate scriptures, hymns, r special sngs that may have been yur deceased lved ne s chsing r yur wn. We encurage family members t ffer selectins that may reflect the life and purpse f the lved ne being remembered. The church will prvide ur staff rganist r pianist r bth at the desire f the family, and we will prvide an apprpriate musician if ur staff is nt available. Sme families chse a representative t share reflectins n behalf f the family and/r read a eulgy that is prepared by the family. Als, sme families want us t invite any wh attend t share brief wrds f remembrance. We encurage families t cnsider utilizing the entryway welcme table and ur easels t display favrite representatins f the lved ne (i.e., phtgraphs, handcrafts, a symbl f their hbbies r interests. We prvide a basket fr friends t leave greeting cards and ntes t the family. If requested, we can prvide a guest register fr all attendees t sign. Veterans may be hnred by the American Flag ceremny presented by lcal military n behalf and arranged by the Funeral Hme. Our media team prduces a recrding f any funeral/memrial service and by request will make up t seven cpies n CD-ROM free f charge. If a receptin will fllw the service, we generally have the family leave the service first s that they can take their place in the Fellwship Hall befre the guests arrive t greet them.
Memrial Slide Shw Guidelines Yu may want t present a slide shw f yur lved ne s life as part f the prelude r in the flw f the service. The church staff is capable and available t prduce this fr yu. Sme families are able t scan their wn phts int files, therwise the church staff will scan and return these pictures t yu. Bring yur pictures t the church ffice at yur first pssible pprtunity. Indicate the rder yu want the pictures t be arranged. As yu chse pictures, cnsider these themes: + Baby / parents / siblings + Childhd / schl days / at play + Teen years + Sprts, music, art, drama, ther activities + Yung adulthd + Military service + Marriage / family + Jb / business / academic accmplishments + Special recgnitins / jys + Ntewrthy travels / vacatins + Church activities / missins trips Avid chsing pictures + that d nt include yur lved ne + where faces are t small t distinguish individuals + f pr quality (ver r under expsed, blurry, prly cmpsed, etc.) Music sundtrack if a music sundtrack is desired, prvide a Cmpact Disc(s) r mp3 files f three recrded pieces. The Pianist r Organist can play during the slide presentatin as well. Chse an apprpriate last slide. If yu chse t scan the pictures yurself (r yur tech savvy relative r friend), save each scanned picture as a.jpg frmat file in the highest reslutin pssible. Save these files t a disc r flash drive and bring it t the church ffice at yur first pssible pprtunity. Yu are als welcme t prduce yur wn digital slide shw. It must be cmpatible with Micrsft Windws-based cmputers. Receptin Upn request, we can prvide a receptin fllwing a memrial service which can be a light meal r dessert refreshments. We can discuss what yu have in mind and cmmunicate that t ur Fellwship and Care Ministry. While n fee is required fr less than 50 peple, a dnatin t cver fd expenses fr larger grups is appreciated.
Cmmittal and/r Graveside A cmmittal is a very brief service generally held at graveside and can ccur immediately fllwing a funeral r memrial service r at a later date as arranged with the cemetery. A Wrd abut Crematin Since Christians frm the beginning have believed what is swn is perishable, what is raised is imperishable it is swn a physical bdy, it is raised a spiritual bdy (I Crinthians 15:42), crematin r the cntributin f the remains fr medical research presents n prblem t the Christian faith. The church maintains a Clumbarium fr the inurnment f cremains fr its members and regular attenders. Arrangements may be made with ur Clumbarium Ministry. Inurnment services may take place immediately fllwing a service if prir arrangements have been made, r they can be scheduled at any time in the future nce the niche applicatin is cmpleted. GriefShare is fr peple grieving the death f a lved ne. If yu've lst a spuse, child, family member r friend, this is a place where yu can find peple wh understand the deep hurt yu feel. GriefShare is a Christ-centered small grup that meets at varius times thrughut the year in 13-week sessins. Each GriefShare sessin includes a vide seminar featuring tp experts n grief recvery, plus real-life case studies and reenactments. After each vide presentatin, we spend time as a grup discussing what was presented and hw it applies t what is ging n in ur lives. We are grateful t have Jyce and Bb Davis as ur GriefShare Crdinatrs.
