The Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Association will be held at the Greater Saint Luke Baptist Church Baptist, 5228 Farrow Road Columbia, South Carolina where the Reverend Michael Baker is pastor. We will convene on October 19-23, 2014. We are asking each church to represent with your prayers, presence and participation. Our registration fee is $500.00 per church and we are asking for $25.00 donation toward our newly established Disaster Relief Fund. LEADERSHIP DIVISION Building Effective Church Leadership Working In Concert In The Church Instructor: Reverend Michael Baker Description: This class will emphasize for those in Church Leadership the necessity of being progressive minded and understanding the needs of the membership. This training will focus on how to manage church issues, develop insight for assisting pastoral leadership. It will also address new trends for church leaders as we serve this present age. WOMAN S DIVISION Building Effective Woman s Ministry for the Young and Young at Heart Deaconess Karen Phillips Description: This class will focus on building an effective women s ministry for both the young and young at heart. It will deal with the generational issues between the two and how to bridge the gap. This training also focuses on the demand for effective women ministry is this present age. It will focus on the defeating challenges we face in drawing women to Christ in the present age. EVANGELISM DIVISION Moving the Masses through Evangelism Instructor: Reverend R. Gregory Glenn Description: This class will emphasize the mandate for church leaders and believers to have a heart and passion for winning souls to Christ through the work of evangelism. The class will incorporate skills and tools for making ministry happen outside the walls of the church and include the key components for establishing outreach and satellite ministries. The training will give insight into how the church and members can be effective in adding to the Body of Christ by focusing on local outreach programs. BAPTIST DOCTRINE DIVISION Building an Understanding of What Baptist Believe Instructor: Reverend Rickey R. Ezell, Sr. Description: This class will focus on developing an understanding of what Baptist believe. It will explore the myths, misunderstanding and misinterpretation of Baptist doctrine. It will explore the Baptist church covenant and the eighteen articles of faith. Participants are encouraged to bring bibles and Red Baptist Hymnal. YOUTH DIVISION Turned Up for Jesus! Rev. Broderick Prioleau Description: This class will emphasize the importance of our youth discovering the gifts that God has placed within them. It will also reinforce the need for balance between their gifts, academics, sports and relationship with God. It will teach them how to bring forth their gift and how to be excited about Jesus.
