PREACHER, IF TITHES ARE STILL GOOD, WHY NOT GOD'S DIETARY LAWS? - Bro Elijah Tithing is apart of the law. It was given by God to the people in the old testament. It is barely mentioned in the new testament but it is to be kept because it is God's law. However, if tithes are still to be kept as a part of the law in the old testament, then we cannot do away with the other holy and important laws of God. If a false prophet is going to read the Bible to support tithing, he has to go to the old testament law and examples of tithing. However, they are only doing this for money, because they will turn around and say that the rest of the law has done away with. Something is not right with that picture and the truth of the matter is that all of the law is still good! In essence, false prophets that preach about tithing and ignore the rest of the law, should not be preaching about tithing because they purport that all of the law has been done away with. Such teachings are blatant lies, used to get themselves rich and to get the people cut off from everlasting life. Tithes is important, not so that the preacher can get rich and have prosperity. Malachi 3 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. Tithing is HOLY unto the Lord and it belongs to the Lord. It is a

COMMANDMENT of the Lord. Leviticus 27 30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's: it is holy unto the Lord. 31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. 32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. 33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. 34 These are the commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai. The priests of Levi received a tenth (tithe) of the land as their inheritance so they could take care of the Lord's business amongst Israel in their various states. Numbers 18 20 And the Lord spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel. 21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. 22 Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die. 23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance. False preachers will use this and other places in the O.T. to emphasize the giving of tithes. And there is nothing wrong with this, but this is not the only law in the Bible. It is correct to honor the Lord with your substance and the Lord will provide and bless you from it. However, there is a problem with

teaching this and ignoring the other laws it takes to please God. By establishing a false since of worship, false prophets have deceived people to pay tithes, yet, they do not receive a blessing from doing so because the people are not being taught how to correctly worship God in accordance with his other laws and commandments. Therefore, in order to receive Proverbs 3 9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. God will provide food and bread for us and take care of all our needs if we serve him (Reference to Matthew 6:25-34). Jacob understood the importance of tithing before the law of Moses was given. Tithes did not stop when the Levitical priesthood ended because it did not start with Levi. Genesis 28 20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, 21 So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God: 22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek (Jesus) Genesis 14 17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale. 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of

heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. Reiteration of Abraham's tithes to Jesus. Tithes = tenth. Melchisedec = the Son of God before he came in the flesh. Tithes are bigger than Levi. They are ultimately payed to Jesus. Hebrews 7 7 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. 4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils. 5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham: 6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises. 7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better. 9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. 10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. Jesus rebukes the hypocritical false prophets for focusing heavily on tithes but ignoring the more important aspects of the law. False prophets have not changed today. They over-preach tithes but omit the rest of God's holy law because they are greedy and do not care about eternal salvation. Jesus shows us that tithes are important but so is all of the law, and there aspects of the law that are more important than tithes! Matthew 23

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Just as the Lord taught Moses and the children of Israel how to tithe and what it was, he also taught them about which foods maybe eaten and which foods may not be eaten as a part of his dietary law. So how can preachers go to the same book in the Bible and proclaim one aspect of God's holy law but then omit another aspect when it is the same God speaking and issuing out his own laws and commandments? God does not change and none of his laws have changed! The fact that people do this, shows that people want to serve God according to their own will and not according to God's will. ** Some people go to Matthew 15 to say it is not what does into your mouth that defiles, but it is what comes out. However, God was making a point because he was talking about eating with unwashed hands. But the same God has made it clear, that if you eat UNCLEAN food, it will DEFILE you!!** Leviticus 11 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. 3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. 7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. 8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you. 9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. 10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: 43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth,

neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. 46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: 47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten. All the principles of God existed before they were given to Moses to give to the children of Israel. We have seen how Abraham and Jacob payed tithes to the Lord. (Abraham was at least 4-5 generations before Moses but God established a covenant with him and his seed forever because he kept God's laws, which shows that God's law is eternal). The same goes with the Dietary law It did not start with Moses because God taught Noah the difference between clean and unclean animals. Genesis 7 1 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. 2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. 3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. Some people use this scripture incorrectly to state that we are to call no animals unclean and that we can eat whatever we want to. However, that is false because this scripture is dealing with the Gentiles being accepted into the common wealth of Israel (before this time it was forbidden for Israelites and Gentiles to keep company with one another). Therefore, God prepped Peter for the arrival of the Gentile by using an analogy of unclean animals in a vision. Contrary to popular belief, this story shows us that Peter kept the dietary law after Jesus' death. The conclusion of this matter was that the

Jews were to accept the Gentiles into the commonwealth. Acts 10 1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, 2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. 3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. 9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: 10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, 11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: 12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven. 17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate, 18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there. 19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. 20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them. 21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come? 22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean. 1 Timothy 4 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. The nation of Israel are a stiff-necked people. They are a irritant unto God because they go to church more than anyone, make loads of sacrifices, but they eat unclean food, especially swine and yet call themselves holier and better than others. As a result, God has and will punish them severely for their sins. Isaiah 65 2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; 3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; 4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; 5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. 6 Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, 7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the Lord, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I

measure their former work into their bosom. When Jesus return's with flame of fire, he will destroy those eating abominable foods like Swine. Isaiah 66 15 For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. 16 For by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many. 17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the Lord. Proof that Isaiah 66 is speaking about Jesus. He will be destroying those who disobey his gospel, which includes his dietary law 2 Thessalonians 1 7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
