Lesson for September 5, 2015. REMOVE NOT THE ANCIENT LANDMARKS NOTE: The "ancient landmarks" depict the old faith which was delivered unto the Saints - (Jude 3). The foundation was laid by the Apostles and Prophets, the foundation stone being Jesus Christ. To be against Jesus means to be against His life and His teachings. It should be explicitly known to everyone that God's family on earth does not have a "closed and stamped creed". Since God is an Omniscient Being, His knowledge and wisdom are worldwide and unconfined. They are revealed and magnified in the hearts of His people, from age to age and from generation to generation. Scripture Reading: 2 John. Memory Verse: Proverbs 22:28. 1. Upon what is the Christian's foundation built? Ephesians 2:20. 2. Should this originally laid foundation be remodeled and renovated? 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. 3. What are some of the given conditions by which this foundation was laid? Revelations 14:12, 12:17; Luke 9:23-26. 17 will be the sad consequences? 1 Corinthians 11:27-30. Lesson for July 25, 2015. FOLLOWING IN HIS STEPS Scripture Reading: Philippians 2:1-18. Memory Verse: Philippians 2:5. 1. What mind should be in us respecting the salvation of our fellow-men? Philippians 2:4,5. 2. What warning did Our Saviour give concerning covetousness? Luke 12:15. NOTE: How apparent that the ways of this present world are in opposition to the ways of heaven. We are not to love the world, neither the things that are in the world. 1 John 2:15. Money measures a person's standing and popularity today in every part of the world. His greatness is considered almost universally by what he owns and possesses. Satan offered our Saviour the kingdoms of this world, if He would serve him, but He spurned the offer. His servants must do the same, and store treasures in heaven, and not on the earth. 3. Should we seek to walk according to the flesh or by the presence of the Spirit? Romans 8:4,5. 4. What is said of the troubled 6 to Damascus. Saul's vision. Ananias' part. 3. What did Paul do? Why did he leave Damascus? Acts 9:22-25. 4. How was he received at Jerusalem, and where did he go from there? Acts 9:26-30. 5. Discuss Acts 11:19-30; 12:24-25; 13:2,3. 6. Did they carry out their mission? Romans 15:25-28; 1 Corinthians l6:l-3; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5; 9:1-12. 7. Discuss Acts 20:22,23; 21:10,11,33. NOTE: From the day that Agabus' prophecy was fulfilled in A.D. 58, Paul was a prisoner of the Roman Empire until the year 63, at which time he was permitted to dwell in his own house (Acts 28:30). He was again arrested in A.D. 65 and beheaded in A.D. 67 or 68. What have you to say about his conduct while he was under arrest. Jerusalem covered in snow. "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee." Psalms 122:6 23 Bible Lessons for THE CHURCH OF GOD 7th Day 3rd Quarter 2015 FOR July, August, September. To be used with the Bible Workers are needed, for the harvest is great, but laborers are few... Address all orders to P.O. Box 568, Jerusalem Israel

conditions of the hearts of men, just before the Messiah returns? Luke 21:24-26. NOTE: How wonderfully was this prophecy fulfilled, with the Jews scattered in every part of the world, and Jerusalem trodden down by the Gentiles for nearly two thousand years. Now, however, we see them returning to Jerusalem and Israel from every country. They are gathered there now from the nations, and we behold the distress and perplexity that is everywhere seen among all nations. The hearts of men are also filled with fear, of the things coming to pass upon the world just as the Saviour said it would be preceding His return. 5. What is our duty in this present time of darkness? Isaiah 60:1,2. 6. What will be done with those who are unfruitful in the work of the Lord? John 15:2, and Matthew 25:30. 7. With what should the labourers for Christ be clothed? Ephesians 6:10-18. NOTE: "It is not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit", Zech. 4:6, that the successful work is accomplished in the vineyard of the Master. It is the prayerful life, and the complete consecration depending wholly on the Spirit and power from above, to lead, and send conviction to hearts of the people. "Praying always, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit" have been taught. Let us be open hearted, knowing that by the presence of the Holy Spirit we will not be deceived and led into error by investigation. Let us possess this "love for the truth." Let us find the truth, for it is in the Word. 3. What is the office work of the Holy Spirit? John 16:13. 4. For what did Christ pray in Gethsemane? John 17:13,14. 5. What did the Saviour say about truth in His witness before Pilate? John 18:37. 6. Who are we told will know the true doctrine? John 7:16,17. 7. How important is sound doctrine? 2 Timothy 3:16,17. 8. Are ministers to use doctrine in their reproof of wrong doing? 2 Timothy 4:1-4. 9. How are we to stop the mouth of unruly and vain talkers? Titus 1:9-14. 10. To what class of people will the Heavenly Father teach doctrine? Isaiah 28:9,10. 11. What effect does true doctrine have on the believer? Deuteronomy 32:2. 12. How are people sanctified (set apart) from the world? John 17:17. 13. What will be our great protector when the powers of darkness come to a fulness in these last days? Psalms 91:4; Ephesians 6:13,14. 7 16 Lesson for July 4, 2015. STRIFE AND VAIN GLORY NOTE: A rich man once invited many honoured guests for a feast. His own chair, richly decorated, was placed at one end of the long table. While awaiting his arrival, each guest seated himself according to his own esteem of his position in the sight of the Master. When the time came and all were seated, the Master came in and moved his chair to the other end of the table! It is clear from the Scriptures, that our Heavenly Father, like the Master in the illustration above, shuns pride. Christ, the greatest man to ever walk on earth, the Son of God himself, came as a humble carpenter. He could have been born a son of an earthly king, and accepted kingship in His earthly life. He chose to abide by the will of His Father, to live and die a servant. This is the example that we are to follow if we want to be in the Kingdom of Heaven. Scripture Reading: Luke 22:24-30. Memory Verse: Philippians 2:3. 1. Should the saints of God strive over who should be their leader? 1 Corinthians 3:3-7. 2. What did Paul fear would become of the church at Corinth in his absence? 2 Corinthians 12:20. command is given for us to send out the true light? Isaiah 60:1,2. 10. Will this family, of which the angels are a part, know something about the times and seasons in which we live, and are they known as the children of light? 1 Thess. 5:1-6. 11. Before He comes to judge the earth, what particular place is mentioned out of which this light will shine? Psalms 50:1-5. Lesson for September 26, 2015. PAUL, THE GREAT EVANGELIST Scripture Reading: Acts 9:10-20. Memory Verse: 2 Timothy 4:7. 1. What do we know about Paul's early life? Acts 22:3. Smith's Bible Dictionary suggests that he was probably taken to Jerusalem as a boy for his education. NOTE: Saul means "asked, "desired". Paul means "small" or "little". These names are very appropriate to the life of the Apostle. He was desired of men, very prominent and highly trusted by the leaders. After his conversion, however, he was very humble. 2. Discuss the following points in the story of Paul's conversion (Acts 9). The mission 1 22

renewed? Col. 3:10. 9. In following Christ whose will must we seek? John 5:30. 10. What is one test of the Christian so noticeable to all? 1 John 2:15-17. 11. Since Titus 3:5 is true, of what should we be careful? 1 John 2:28. 12. To live a victorious life what steps are necessary? Philippians 1:9-11. Lesson for August 29, 2015. THE IMPORTANCE OF SOUND DOCTRINE Scripture Reading: 2 Thessalonians 2. Memory Verse: John 7:16. 1. Are we warned against an evil power that will corrupt the truth? 2 Thessalonians 2:7,8. 2. Who will be deceived by this power? 2 Thes. 2:9,10. NOTE: Particular emphasis should be made here on the fact that it is necessary to possess "a love for the truth." It does not say this power will deceive all who do not possess the truth, but all of those who do not possess "a love for the truth." It is extremely dangerous to close our eyes against new thoughts which might not be what we 15 8. What are parents commanded to teach their children? Deuteronomy 6:6,7. 9. Are we considered to be of the same family as the angels of heaven? Ephesians 3:14,15. Revelation 22:8,9. NOTE: From this scripture, we notice it does not speak of families in the plural, but of just one family, of which the angels are a part. They are more powerful, yet these unseen guests and messengers encamp around about the faithful ones. The faithful ones depend fully upon the intervening hand from above to lead them, and to direct and protect them. 10. What beautiful promise has the Lord given that our efforts and sacrifice will not be in vain, as we work for the lost ones? Isaiah 55:10,11. 11. What kind of a giver does the Lord love? 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. 12. What are the questions we are commanded to avoid, and why? 2 Timothy 2:23-25. Lesson for August 1, 2015. CONSTANT FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD NOTE: While it is true that the grace of God is always extended to lift a sinner from 8 Israel, what is said about him having power, both with the Father and also with men? Genesis 32:28. 3. How much power did our Saviour possess, in bringing to his assistance these unseen messengers from heaven? Matt. 26:53,54. 4. When received into the true church, the body of Christ, are we numbered with, and also a member of the family of angels? Ephesians 3:14-16. 5. Are the angels of heaven really our own brothers in the same faith with the same Father? Rev. 22:8,9. 6. When the final judgments are in the earth, and the seven last plagues are upon the whole world, who will deliver the faithful members of this one family? Psalms 91:10,11. 7. What is the reason given for the angels delivering the true members of this holy family in the time of trouble? Verse 14; Daniel 12:1. NOTE: These are two reasons given here for deliverance in this time of trouble. One is "setting our love upon the Father", the sign of which is keeping His commandments (1 John 5:3), and the other is because we have known His Name. 8. What is said of this chosen family in regard to light? Matt. 5:14-16. 9. In this time of darkness what 21 3. What is the result of pride? Proverbs 16:18; 11:2. 4. What example of humility did Christ give? John 13:12-15. 5. Should those in honoured church positions look down upon those in supposedly lower office? 1 Corinthians 12:13-31. 6. What is the "more excellent way" spoken of in 1 Corinthians 12:31? 1 Corinthians chapter 13. 7. What does Christ say will happen to those who demand honour? Luke 14:8-11. 8. In what manner did Paul and his coworkers preach the Gospel? 1 Thessolonians 1:3-9. 9. In what way should those called of God show themselves worthy? Ephesians 4:1-3. Lesson for July 11, 2015. DO NOT BE ASHAMED TO BE A CHRISTIAN NOTE: To be a follower of the most enlightened man of all ages, is nothing to be ashamed of. To be a fellow heir with the Son of the Creator of the universe is something to celebrate! While it is true that some may ridicule and persecute us for the sake of Christ, He tells us 2

sin, it is also true that a man can refuse, and reject this grace at any point in his life. Many are teaching, Once saved always saved; such a teaching is without foundation in God's Word. When man repents of sin and turns to God he does not lose his free moral agency. We still have the right and ability to determine our own destiny. Scripture Reading: 2 Peter 2. Memory Verses: Jude 24,25. 1. Is it possible to place ourselves outside of God's household? Hebrews 12:15-17. 2. What sad truth did Christ once state? Matthew 24:12. 3. What glorious assurance do we have? Mathhew 24:13. 4. How did Paul express the possibility of falling? 1 Corinthians 9:27. 5. After having obtained faith what may happen to it? Luke 22:32; 1 Timothy 1:19, 4:1; 5:8,12; 2 Timothy 2:16-18. 6. This being the case, how should we relate ourselves to the Gospel? 1 Corinthians 15:58. 7. If one falls from grace and willfully remains as such, what is said of his end? 2 Peter 2:20-22. 8. What Old Testament example bears this out? 1 Samuel 10:6,9; 1 Chronicles 10:13. 9. How long must we remain true to the Bible of people who lived according to the will of God. In Christ Jesus all is possible. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me," was the testimony of one who walked with God. Philippians 4:13. The victorious life comes as a result of constant resistance to the temptations of the devil. Christ met every temptation with a Scriptural answer in His resistance to Satan in the wilderness. Following His example we should be guided by Biblical standards in our wresting against spiritual wickedness in high places. Scripture Reading: Philippians 1:1-20. Memory Verses: Romans 6:1-4. 1. What is expected of us in this wicked world? Titus 2:11,12 2. How is this possible? 1 John 5:5-7. 3. What men stand out as great examples of the victorious life? Hebrews 11:5; Luke 1:5,6. 4. What step is necessary in our hearts? 1 Peter 3:15. 5. When we resist the devil, of what are we assured? James 4:7,8. 6. How often must our spiritual man be renewed? 2 Corinthians 4:16. 7. What lesson must we first learn? Isaiah 40:31. 8. After whose image must we be 9 14 to "rejoice and be exceeding glad" when this happens, "for great is your reward in Heaven." Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:23-40. Memory Verse: 1 Peter 4:16. 1. What portion of one's lot must one give up? Luke 12:33; 14:33. 2. What example did Jesus give to His followers? 2 Corinthians 8:9; Philippians 2:5-8. 3. After his conversion, how did Paul regard his earthly gains? Phil. 3:7,8. 4. After he had forsaken his educational acquirements and his previous engagements, how was he earning his livelihood? Acts 18:1-3. 5. Was he ever ashamed at this ignominious condition in which the "higher calling" placed him? Romans 1:16; Philippians 3:13,14; 2 Corinthians 12:10. 6. How educated and wealthy was Moses? Acts 7:22. 7. When God chose him to be a leader, how did Moses regard his earthly acquirements? Hebrews 11:24-26. 8. In what condition was John the Baptist predestined to be as a follower of Jesus Christ? Matthew 3:4. 9. During the apostolic era, how did degree of perfection will we be lead to? Matthew 5:46-48. 9. Upon what did the Saviour say our forgiveness depended? Matthew 6:14,15. 10. How many times should our humility lead us to forgive our foes? Matthew 18:21,22. NOTE: Unforgiveness, malice, anger and so on hinder a believer's growth and development just as diseases do the physical body. It takes a humble heart in which the Saviour dwells to forgive and forget. 11. If we receive the honor that awaits us, what trait must we first possess? Proverbs 15:33. 12. What are the products of humility and fear of the Lord? Proverbs 22:4. Lesson for September 19, 2015. THE TRUE GOSPEL IS LIGHT AND POWER Scripture reading: 1 Cor. 1:1-24. Memory verse: 1 Cor. 1:26. 1. What did Paul tell us about the power of the gospel? Romans 1:16. 2. When Jacob's name was changed to 3 20

4. How did he appear in the council? Acts 6:15. 5. Note his defence, Acts 7:1-53. Time in the class period may not permit the reading of all this text. However, two important points are found in Acts 7:37,51-53. 6. What was the reaction to this discourse? Acts 7:54, 7. How did Stephen respond to this attitude? What was the outcome? Acts 7:55-60. NOTE: Although it is needless to call to your attention the similarity between Christ s and Stephen s death, it is worthy of mention. Both trials were farces, both were falsely accused, and both died praying for their murderers. Saul, later known as Paul, entered the picture at this point. (Acts 22:20) Do you think this experience influenced his conversion? Do you think Christ would have chosen Paul had not this experience softened his heart? Lesson for August 22, 2015. THE VICTORIOUS LIFE NOTE: Many say that perfection is too high a standard to reach, that it is impossible to attain. There are, however, many examples in the Gospel? Revelation 2:10. 10. What adequate provision is made for all who fall into sin? 1 John 2:1,2. 11. How complete will restoration be? Hebrews 7:25. 12. What must we never do? Hebrews 2:3. 13. What two important factors will lead us to eternal life? Hebrews 11:27; 12:2. 14. What precious truth shines as a beacon for all? Jude 24,25. Lesson for August 8, 2015. THE TWO CLASSES OF SERVANTS Scriptural Reading: Matthew 25:14-46. Memory Verse: Matthew 25:30. 1. Where was the Saviour when He spoke the words found in Matthew 25. Matthew 24:3. 2. How long was this before the Passover when He was crucified? Matthew 26:1,2. 3. As He was about to leave this world, to what did He compare Himself? Matthew 25:14. 4. The Saviour had no earthly possessions only a tender loving compassion for the lost and suffering, and the Spirit of power to save. What distribution of these did He make to His disciples and servants? Matthew 25:14, last part. 13 10 Lesson for September 12, 2015. THE HUMILITY OF THE SAVIOUR AND HIS CHILDREN Scripture Reading: Matthew 18:1-20. Memory Verse: Matthew 18:3. 1. In coming to the earth, what example of humility did the Saviour set? Luke 2:11,12,16. 2. What prophetic fulfillment do we have of His humility? Zechariah 9:9; Matthew 21:1-11. 3. To what else did the Saviour humble Himself? Philippians 2:5-8. 4. What did the disciples want to know of the Saviour? Matthew 18:1. 5. Whom did He set as a model for them? Matthew 18:2-4. NOTE: "Converted and become" - There are some who are truly converted, and yet are not humble. Many believers are found in this category. One may appear to be humble until there is an issue involved that demands submission, then he rebels against authority; this often causes divisions. 6. How does Paul further interpret the meaning of the word "children"? 1 Corinthians 14:20. 7. What will the quality of "children in malice" lead us to do? Matthew 5:43-45. 8. If we are "children of malice", what the disciples of Jesus feel when they were shamefully maltreated? Acts 5:40,41. 10. What is the apostle Peter's counsel to Christians? 1 Peter 4:12-16. Lesson for July 18, 2015. THE LORD'S SUPPER Scripture Reading: John 6:22-71. Memory Verse: John 6:54. 1. Where did Jesus go after feeding the five thousand? John 6:24,25. 2. Why were the mulitudes seeking Him? John 6:26 3. What did Jesus tell them about food? From where did He say this food would be obtained? John 6:27 4. Does it appear that the multitude thought they had this bread from heaven? How did Jesus reply? John 6:31-35. 5. How did the Jews respond to this statement which Jesus made? John 6:42. 6. How did Jesus reply to their murmurings? John 6:48-51,53-58. 7. When Jesus introduced the Lord's Supper, what did He say the unleavened bread 19 4

5. Did all servants receive the same, or was there a difference in the distribution of His possessions? Matthew 25:15. up in land, property, bonds, money, cattle and stocks. Not even the tenth which He requires is used for His glory. These are slothful and unprofitable servants. Like the foolish virgins, and the servants who say: "He delays His coming", they are to be cast away. 13. What does the Master say about the unprofitable servants when He comes to reckon with them? Matthew 25:29,30. NOTE: Every servant and disciple is given some work to do and also a share of what the loving Saviour possessed. This same Spirit gives each one a certain compassion and interest in the same work in which the Master was engaged. 6. What did those do who had received a greater portion of what the Master possessed? Mathhew 25:16,17. 7. What did the servant do who did not receive as great a portion? Matthew 25:18. 8. Was it only a short time before the Master was to return, and reckon with His servants? Matthew 25:19. 9. How long was He to remain in heaven? Acts 3:20,21. 10. Did the servants receiving the greater number of talents make good use of them and gain others besides? Matthew 25:20, 22. 11. Was the reward the same, or different, to the one receiving the five talents, from the one receiving only two? Matthew 25:21,23. 12.
