Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Jameel Bin Salih, from Muhammad Bin Muslim, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja far asws having said: The most perfect of the Moineen (Believers) in Emān is the best of them in manners. 1 أ ه ل ال م د ين ة ع ن ع ل ي ب ن ال ح س ي ن ) ال ح س ي ن ب ن م ح مد ع ن م ع ل ى ب ن م ح مد ع ن ال و شاء ع ن ع ب د للا ب ن س ن ان ع ن ر ج ل م ن عليه السالم ( ق ال ق ال ر س ول للا ) صلى للا عليه وآله ( م ا ي وض ع ف ي م يز ان ام ر ئ ي و م ال ق ي ام ة أ ف ض ل م ن ح س ن ال خ ل ق. Al Hassan Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Al Washha, from Abdullah Bin Sinan, from a man from the people of Al Medina, (It has been narrated) from Ali asws Bin Al-Husayn asws having said: Rasool-Allah saww said: No matter would be Placed upon the Scale on the Day of Judgement which is more superior than the good manners. 2 م ح مد ب ن ي ح ي ى ع ن أ ح م د ب ن م ح مد ع ن اب ن م ح ب وب ع ن أ ب ي و لد ال ح ناط ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال أ ر ب ع م ن ك ن ف يه ك م ل إ يم ان ه و إ ن ك ان م ن ق ر ن ه إ ل ى ق د م ه ذ ن وبا ل م ي ن ق ص ه ذ ل ك ق ال و ه و الص د ق و أ د اء ا ل م ان ة و ال ح ي اء و ح س ن ال خ ل ق. Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Abu Wallad Al Hannat, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: Four (things), the one who has these in him, his Emān would be perfect, and even if he was (immersed) in sins from his head to his feet, that would not incur him a loss. He asws said: And it is the truthfulness, and paying back of the entrustments, and the bashfulness, and good manners. 3 ع دة م ن أ ص ح اب ن ا ع ن أ ح م د ب ن م ح مد ب ن خ ال د ع ن اب ن م ح ب وب ع ن ع ن ب س ة ال ع اب د ق ال ق ال ل ي أ ب و ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( م ا ي ق د م ال م ؤ م ن ع ل ى للا ع ز و ج ل ب ع م ل ب ع د ال ف ر ائ ض أ ح ب إ ل ى للا ت ع ال ى م ن أ ن ي س ع النا ب خ ل ق ه. Abu Abdullah asws said to me: A Momin (The Believer) would not be going forward to Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic with a deed, after the Obligatory ones, more Beloved to Allah azwj the Exalted, than if he accommodates the people with his (good) manners. 4 أ ب و ع ل ي ا ل ش ع ر ي ع ن م ح مد ب ن ع ب د ال ج بار ع ن ص ف و ان ع ن ذ ر يح ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال ق ال ر س ول للا ) صلى للا عليه وآله ( إ ن ص اح ب ال خ ل ق ال ح س ن ل ه م ث ل أ ج ر الصائ م ال ق ائ م. Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Safwan, from Zareeh, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: Rasool-Allah saww said: The one of good manners, for him would be a Recompense of the Fasting one, the standing one (for the Salāt). 5 ع ل ي ب ن إ ب ر اه يم ع ن أ ب يه ع ن النو ف ل ي ع ن السك ون ي ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال ق ال ر س ول للا ) صلى للا عليه وآله ( أ ك ث ر م ا ت ل ج ب ه أ مت ي ال ج نة ت ق و ى للا و ح س ن ال خ ل ق. Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Al Nowfaly, from Al Sakuny, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: Rasool-Allah saww said: The most by which my saww community would be entering the Paradise is fear of Allah azwj and good manners. 6 ع ل ي ب ن إ ب ر اه يم ع ن أ ب يه ع ن اب ن أ ب ي ع م ي ر ع ن ح س ي ن ا ل ح م س ي و ع ب د للا ب ن س ن ان ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال إ ن ال خ ل ق ال ح س ن ي م يث ال خ ط يئ ة ك م ا ت م يث الشم ال ج ل يد. Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Husayn Al Ahmasy, and Abdullah Bin Sinan, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: The good manners melt the sins just as the sun melts the ice. 7 ع ن ه ع ن أ ب يه ع ن اب ن أ ب ي ع م ي ر ع ن ع ب د للا ب ن س ن ان ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال ال ب ر و ح س ن ال خ ل ق ي ع م ر ان الد ي ار و ي ز يد ان ف ي ا ل ع م ار. From him, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Abdullah Bin Sinan, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: The righteousness and the good manners both build the houses (households) and increase in the life-span. 8 ع دة م ن أ ص ح اب ن ا ع ن س ه ل ب ن ز ي اد ع ن م ح مد ب ن ع ب د ال ح م يد ق ال ح دث ن ي ي ح ي ى ب ن ع م ر و ع ن ع ب د للا ب ن س ن ان ق ال ق ال أ ب و ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( أ و ح ى للا ت ب ار ك و ت ع ال ى إ ل ى ب ع ض أ ن ب ي ائ ه ) عليهم السالم ( ال خ ل ق ال ح س ن ي م يث ال خ ط يئ ة ك م ا ت م يث الشم ال ج ل يد. A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Hameed who said, Yahya Bin Amro narrated to me, from Abdullah Bin Sinan who said, 4 Al Kafi V 2 The Book Of Belief and Disbelief CH 49 H 4 5 Al Kafi V 2 The Book Of Belief and Disbelief CH 49 H 5 6 Al Kafi V 2 The Book Of Belief and Disbelief CH 49 H 6 7 Al Kafi V 2 The Book Of Belief and Disbelief CH 49 H 7 8 Al Kafi V 2 The Book Of Belief and Disbelief CH 49 H 8 4 out of 43

Abu Abdullah asws said: Allah azwj Blessed and High Revealed unto one of His azwj Prophets as : The good manners melt the sins just as the sun melts the ice. 9 م ح مد ب ن ي ح ي ى ع ن أ ح م د ب ن م ح مد ب ن ع يس ى ع ن ال ح س ن ب ن ع ل ي ال و شاء ع ن ع ب د للا ب ن س ن ان ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال ه ل ك ر ج ل ع ل ى ع ه د النب ي ) صلى للا عليه وآله ( ف أ ت ى ال ح فار ين ف إ ذ ا ب ه م ل م ي ح ف ر وا ش ي ئا و ش ك و ا ذ ل ك إ ل ى ر س ول للا ) صلى للا عليه وآله ( ف ق ال وا ي ا ر س ول للا م ا ي ع م ل ح د يد ن ا ف ي ا ل ر ض ف ك أ نم ا ن ض ر ب ب ه ف ي الصف ا ف ق ال و ل م إ ن ك ان ص اح ب ك م ل ح س ن ال خ ل ق ائ ت ون ي ب ق د ح م ن م اء ف أ ت و ه ب ه ف أ د خ ل ي د ه ف يه ث م ر شه ع ل ى ا ل ر ض ر ش ا ث م ق ال اح ف ر وا Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Al Washa, from Abdullah Bin Sinan, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: A man died during the era of the Prophet saww. So the grave diggers came over, but when they were with him, they could not dig anything, and they complained of that to Rasool-Allah saww saying, O Rasool-Allah saww! Our irons (pick axes/spades) do not work in the ground. It is as if we are striking with it in the rock. So he saww said: If your (dead) companion was of good manners, come to me with a cup of water. So they brought it to him saww. So he saww immersed his saww hand inside it, then sprinkled it upon the ground with a sprinkle, then said: Dig!. ق ال ف ح ف ر ال ح فار ون ف ك أ نم ا ك ان ر م ال ي ت ه اي ل ع ل ي ه م. He asws said: So the grave-diggers dug, and it was as if it was sand falling upon them. 10 أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال إ ن ال خ ل ق م ن يح ة ي م ن ح ه ا للا ع ز و ج ل ع ن ه ع ن م ح مد ب ن س ن ان ع ن إ س ح اق ب ن ع مار ع ن خ ل ق ه ف م ن ه س ج ية و م ن ه ن ية ف ق ل ت ف أ يت ه م ا أ ف ض ل ف ق ال ص اح ب السج ية ه و م ج ب ول ل ي س ت ط يع غ ي ر ه و ص اح ب الن ية ي ص ب ر ع ل ى الطاع ة ت ص ب را ف ه و أ ف ض ل ه م ا. From him, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Is haq Bin Ammar, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: The (good) manners are a Grant Granted by Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic to His azwj creatures. So, from it is the natural disposition, and from it is the intention. So I said, So which of the two is superior? So he asws said: (As for) the one with the natural disposition, he is naturally disposed, not having the capacity for something else; while the one with the intention is patient upon the obedience with an excellent patience, therefore he is superior of the two. 11 و ع ن ه ع ن ب ك ر ب ن ص ال ح ع ن ال ح س ن ب ن ع ل ي ع ن ع ب د للا ب ن إ ب ر اه يم ع ن ع ل ي ب ن أ ب ي ع ل ي الل ه ب ي ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال إ ن للا ت ب ار ك و ت ع ال ى ل ي ع ط ي ال ع ب د م ن الثو اب ع ل ى ح س ن ال خ ل ق ك م ا ي ع ط ي ال م ج اه د ف ي س ب يل للا ي غ د و ع ل ي ه و ي ر وح. And from him, from Bakr Bin Salih, from Al Hassan Bin Ali, from Abdullah Bin Ibrahim, from Ali Bin Abu Ali Al Lahby, 9 Al Kafi V 2 The Book Of Belief and Disbelief CH 49 H 9 10 Al Kafi V 2 The Book Of Belief and Disbelief CH 49 H 10 11 Al Kafi V 2 The Book Of Belief and Disbelief CH 49 H 11 5 out of 43

(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having sid: Allah azwj Blessed and High would be Giving from the Rewards to the servant based upon the good manners, just as He azwj would Give to the fighter in the Way of Allah azwj (waking up) in the morning and going upon it. 12 ع ن ه ع ن ع ب د للا ال ح جال ع ن أ ب ي ع ث م ان ال ق اب وس ي ع من ذ ك ر ه ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال إ ن للا ت ب ار ك و ت ع ال ى أ ع ار أ ع د اء ه أ خ ال قا م ن أ خ ال ق أ و ل ي ائ ه ل ي ع يش أ و ل ي اؤ ه م ع أ ع د ائ ه ف ي د و ل ت ه م. From him, from Abdullah Al Hajjal, from Abu Usman Al Qabousy, from the one who mentioned, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: Allah azwj Blessed and High has Lent to His azwj enemies the manners from the mannerisms of His azwj friends, so that His azwj friends can live along with His azwj enemies in their governments. و ف ي ر و اي ة أ خ ر ى و ل و ل ذ ل ك ل م ا ت ر ك وا و ل ي ا ل ل إ ل ق ت ل وه. And in another report, (He asws said): And had it not been for that, they would not have left a (single) friend of Allah azwj, except that they would have killed him. 13 ع ل ي ب ن إ ب ر اه يم ع ن أ ب يه ع ن ح ماد ب ن ع يس ى ع ن ال ح س ي ن ب ن ال م خ ت ار ع ن ال ع ال ء ب ن ك ام ل ق ال ق ال أ ب و ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( إ ذ ا خ ال ط ت النا ف إ ن اس ت ط ع ت أ ن ل ت خ ال ط أ ح دا م ن النا إ ل ك ان ت ي د ك ال ع ل ي ا ع ل ي ه ف اف ع ل ف إ ن ال ع ب د ي ك ون ف يه ب ع ض التق ص ير م ن ال ع ب اد ة و ي ك ون ل ه ح س ن خ ل ق ف ي ب ل غ ه للا ب ]ح س ن [ خ ل ق ه د ر ج ة الصائ م ال ق ائ م. Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Hammad Bin Isa, from Al Husayn Bin Al Mukhtar, from Al A ala Bin Kamil who said, Abu Abdullah asws said: When you mingle with the people, so if you have the capacity that you would not mingle with anyone from the people except that your hand would be higher upon his, then do so. So if the servant happens to have in him part of the deficiency from the worship, and there happens to be good manners for him, then Allah azwj would Make him to reach, due to his good manners, the level of the Fasting one, the standing one (for Salāt). 14 ع دة م ن أ ص ح اب ن ا ع ن أ ح م د ب ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ع ن أ ب يه ع ن ح ماد ب ن ع يس ى ع ن ح ر يز ب ن ع ب د للا ع ن ب ح ر السقاء ق ال ق ال ل ي أ ب و ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ي ا ب ح ر ح س ن ال خ ل ق ي س ر ث م ق ال أ ل أ خ ب ر ك ب ح د يث م ا ه و ف ي ي د ي أ ح د م ن أ ه ل ال م د ين ة ق ل ت ب ل ى A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Abu Abdullah, from his father, from Hammad Bin Isa, from Hareyz Bin Abdullah, from Bahr Al Saqqa who said, Abu Abdullah asws said to me: O Bahr! Good manners are an affluence. Then he asws said: Shall I asws inform you with a Hadeeth which is not in the hands of anyone from the people of Al-Medina? He asws said: One day, while Rasool-Allah saww was seated in the Masjid when a slave girl of one of the Helpers came over, and he saww was sitting upright. So she grabbed a side of his saww clothes. So the Prophet saww stood up for her, but she did not say anything, and the Prophet saww did not say anything to her, to the extent that she did that three times. ف ق ام ل ه ا النب ي ف ي الراب ع ة و ه ي خ ل ف ه ف أ خ ذ ت ه د ب ة م ن ث و ب ه ث م ر ج ع ت ف ق ال ل ه ا النا ف ع ل للا ب ك و ف ع ل ح ب س ت ر س ول للا إ ل ي ه ) صلى للا عليه وآله ( ث ال ث م رات ل ت ق ول ين ل ه ش ي ئا و ل ه و ي ق ول ل ك ش ي ئا م ا ك ان ت ح اج ت ك So the Prophet saww stood up for her during the fourth attempt, and she was behind him saww, so she took an edge of his saww cloth, then retracted. So the people said to her, May Allah azwj Deal with you and Do (whatever He azwj may)! You withheld Rasool-Allah saww three times, neither did you say anything to him nor did he saww say anything to you. What was your need to him saww? ق ال ت إ ن ل ن ا م ر يضا ف أ ر س ل ن ي أ ه ل ي آل خ ذ ه د ب ة م ن ث و ب ه ل ي س ت ش ف ي ب ه ا ف ل ما أ ر د ت أ خ ذ ه ا ر آن ي ف ق ام ف اس ت ح ي ي ت م ن ه أ ن آخ ذ ه ا و ه و ي ر ان ي و أ ك ر ه أ ن أ س ت أ م ر ه ف ي أ خ ذ ه ا ف أ خ ذ ت ه ا. She said, For us there is a sick one. So my people sent me to take an edge from his saww cloth in order to heal him by it. So whenever I wanted to take it, he saww saw me, and stood up. Abu Abdullah asws said: O Fuzayl! The truthful is the first one whom Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic Ratifies. He knows that he is truthful, and its ratification is that he comes to know that he is truthful. 30 اب ن أ ب ي ع م ي ر ع ن م ن ص ور ب ن ح از م ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال إ نم ا س م ي إ س م اع يل ص اد ق ال و ع د ل نه و ع د ر ج ال ف ي م ك ان ف ان ت ظ ر ه ف ي ذ ل ك ال م ك ان س ن ة ف س ماه للا ع ز و ج ل ص اد ق ال و ع د ث م ق ال إ ن الرج ل أ ت اه ب ع د ذ ل ك ف ق ال ل ه إ س م اع يل م ا ز ل ت م ن ت ظ را ل ك. Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Mansour Bin Hazim, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: But rather Ismail as was named as truthful of the promise because he as promised a man (to be) in a particular place, so he asws waited for him in that place for a year. Therefore Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic Named him as as The truthful of the promise. Then he asws said: The man did come to him as after that, so Ismail as said to him: I as did not cease waiting for you. 31 أ ب و ع ل ي ا ل ش ع ر ي ع ن م ح مد ب ن س ال م ع ن أ ح م د ب ن النض ر ال خ زاز ع ن ج د ه الرب يع ب ن س ع د ق ال ق ال ل ي أ ب و ج ع ف ر ) عليه السالم ( ي ا ر ب يع إ ن الرج ل ل ي ص د ق ح تى ي ك ت ب ه للا ص د يقا. Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Salim, from Ahmad Bin Al Nazar Al Khazzaz, from his grandfather Al Rabie Bin Sa ad who said, Abu Ja far asws said to me: O Rabie! Let the man be truthful until Allah azwj Writes him as a truthful one. 32 أ ح م د ب ن م ح مد ع ن ال و شاء ع ن ع ل ي ب ن أ ب ي ح م ز ة ع ن أ ب ي ب ص ير ق ال س م ع ت أ ب ا ع ب د للا ) عليه ع دة م ن أ ص ح اب ن ا ع ن السالم ( ي ق ول إ ن ال ع ب د ل ي ص د ق ح تى ي ك ت ب ع ن د للا م ن الصاد ق ين و ي ك ذ ب ح تى ي ك ت ب ع ن د للا م ن ال ك اذ ب ين ف إ ذ ا ص د ق ق ال للا ع ز و ج ل ص د ق و ب ر و إ ذ ا ك ذ ب ق ال للا ع ز و ج ل ك ذ ب و ف ج ر. A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Washa, from Ali Bin Abu Hamza, from Abu Baseer who said, I heard Abu Abdullah asws saying: The servant, could be truthful until he is Written in the Presence of Allah azwj as being from the truthful ones, and he could lie until he is Written in the Presence of Allah azwj as being from the liars. So when he is truthful, Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic Says: He is truthful and righteous ; and when he lies, Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic Says: Liar, and an immoral one. 33 ع ن ه ع ن اب ن م ح ب وب ع ن ال ع ال ء ب ن ر ز ين ع ن ع ب د للا ب ن أ ب ي ي ع ف ور ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ق ال ك ون وا د ع اة ل لنا ب ال خ ي ر ب غ ي ر أ ل س ن ت ك م ل ي ر و ا م ن ك م ا ل ج ت ه اد و الص د ق و ال و ر ع. From him, from Abu Talib, raising it, said, Abu Abdullah asws said: Do not be looking at the prolonged Bowing and Prostration of the man, for in that is something of his habit, were he to leave it, he would be petrified due to that. He asws said: So some necks from the people would be standing, and the Angels would meet them and saying to them: And what was your merit? So they would be saying, We used to maintain relations with the ones who cut us off, and we gave to the ones who deprived us, and we pardoned the ones who oppressed us. So it would be said to them: You are speaking the truth. So she said, I said, If he saww is a Prophet saww, it would not harm him, and if he was a king, the people would be relieved from him saww. Ali Bin Ibrahim, from one of his companions, from Malik Bin Husayn Al Sakuny who said, Abu Abdullah asws said: There is none form a servant who suppresses anger except that Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic Increases him with honour in the world and the Hereafter; and Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic Said [3:134] and those who restrain (their) anger and pardon the people; and Allah Loves the doers of good (to others), and Allah azwj would Reward him in place of that anger. 58 ع دة م ن أ ص ح اب ن ا ع ن أ ح م د ب ن م ح مد ب ن خ ال د ع ن إ س م اع يل ب ن م ه ر ان ع ن س ي ف ب ن ع م ير ة ق ال ح دث ن ي م ن س م ع أ ب ا ع ب د للا ) عليه السالم ( ي ق ول م ن ك ظ م غ ي ظا و ل و ش اء أ ن ي م ض ي ه أ م ض اه أ م ل للا ق ل ب ه ي و م ال ق ي ام ة ر ض اه. A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Ismail Bin Mihran, from Sayf Bin Ameyra who said, It was narrated to me by the one who heard Abu Abdullah asws saying: The one who suppresses anger, and (even though) had he so desired to he could have continued it (his anger), Allah azwj would Fill his heart on the Day of Judgement with His azwj Pleasure. 59 أ ب و ع ل ي ا ل ش ع ر ي ع ن م ح مد ب ن ع ب د ال ج بار ع ن اب ن ف ضال ع ن غ ال ب ب ن ع ث م ان ع ن ع ب د للا ب ن م ن ذ ر ع ن ال و صاف ي ع ن أ ب ي ج ع ف ر ) عليه السالم ( ق ال م ن ك ظ م غ ي ظا و ه و ي ق د ر ع ل ى إ م ض ائ ه ح ش ا للا ق ل ب ه أ م نا و إ يم انا ي و م ال ق ي ام ة. one who disobeys Allah azwj regarding you with anything more superior than your obedience to Allah azwj regarding him. O Zayd!
