Presbyterian Church in America SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE JULY 6, 2014
8:15 AM Sunday Order of Worship Prelude Welcome My Country, Tis of Thee/America, the Beautiful My country, tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing: land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrims pride, from every mountainside let freedom ring! Let music swell the breeze, and ring from all the trees sweet freedom s song: let mortal tongues awake; let all that breathe partake; let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong. Our fathers God, to Thee, Author of liberty, to Thee we sing: long may our land be bright with freedom s holy light; protect us by Thy might, Great God, our King! O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, for purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea! O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife, who more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life! America! America! May God thy gold refine till all success be nobleness, and every gain divine! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea! Call to Worship Dan Ratchford There Is Power in the Blood Would you be free from your burden of sin? There s power in the blood, power in the blood; would you over evil a victory win? There s wonderful power in the blood. Chorus There is power, power wonder working power in the blood of the Lamb. There is power, power wonder working power in the precious blood of the Lamb. Would you be free from your passion and pride? There s power in the blood, power in the blood; come for a cleansing to Calvary s tide; there s wonderful power in the blood. Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow? There s power in the blood, power in the blood; sin stains are lost in its life-giving flow; there s wonderful power in the blood. Grace Greater Than Our Sin Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt, yonder on Calvary s mount out-poured, there where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.
Chorus Grace, grace, God s grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within; grace, grace, God s grace, grace that is greater than all our sin. Dark is the stain that we cannot hide, what can avail to wash it away? Look! There is flowing a crimson tide; whiter than snow you may be today. Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace, freely bestowed on all who believe; all who are longing to see His face, will you this moment His grace receive? Offering Prayer Steve Thomas Offertory You Call Me a Friend Dale Campbell/Allen Jones Doxology Old One Hundredth Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Chorus Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him! How I ve proved Him o er and o er! Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! O for grace to trust Him more! O how sweet to trust in Jesus, just to trust His cleansing blood; just in simple faith to plunge me neath the healing, cleansing flood! Yes, tis sweet to trust in Jesus, just from sin and self to cease; just from Jesus simply taking life and rest, and joy and peace. I m so glad I learned to trust Him, precious Jesus, Savior, Friend; and I know that He is with me, will be with me to the end. Benediction Postlude Dan Ratchford

And all will see how great, how great is our God! Confession of Sin and Assurance of Forgiveness Pastoral Prayer Sermon: The Gospel-Centered Church Acts 15:30-41 Josh Vahle Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder Let us love and sing and wonder, let us praise the Savior s name, He has hushed the law s loud thunder, He has quenched Mount Sinai s flame, He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood. He has brought us nigh to God. Let us love the Lord Who bought us, pitied us when enemies called us by His grace and taught us; gave us ears and gave us eyes. He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood. He presents our souls to God. Let us praise and join in chorus of the saints enthroned on high. Here they trusted Him before us now their praises fill the sky. You have washed us with Your blood, You have washed us with Your blood, You have washed us with You blood. You are worthy Lamb of God Benediction Postlude Dan Ratchford
