THE FEAST OF PASSOVER FROM TODAY'S PERSPECTIVE By Apostle Jacquelyn Fedor Passover is a feast celebrating God's plan for our physical and spiritual freedom. Just as God's people were in bondage to the Egyptians in the days of Moses, so many are held captive by the world we live in today. Of course, if you would ask the people of the world if they feel they are in bondage, they would say it is quite the opposite. They see God's people as the ones held captive by their attempt at holiness. The worldly do not choose to change their lifestyle or want to adhere to the commandments or spiritual laws of God's Kingdom. You could say they are for the most part lawless, yet in their mind, they feel that they are free of all restrictions. They see freedom, physical and spiritual, as doing what they desire unhampered and without consequence. The world is therefore actually a slave to drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, food, lust and perversion etc. With regret, we see how the majority of humanity is so assimilated into the world that life within God's Kingdom seems uninteresting. An even worse thing to witness is their bondage to Satan's knowledge of good and evil through their intellect. You see, man's own intellect will not allow them to break away from the defeat Satan has planted 1
in their lives. Pride holds hands with intellect and those harboring these spirits will never admit they are wrong. They therefore are unteachable and cannot grow or change as this would mean admitting they are less than perfect. They therefore have no desire to Passover from this world to God's Kingdom. You see, way back in the garden Eve had the choice of choosing to learn from the thoughts of God, the Tree of Life, or the knowledge offered by Satan, the Tree of Good and Evil. Through God's Wisdom she and her husband would only know good. Every decision would be blessed, their actions righteous, based on truth. Spiritual laws would work always to their favor, because they would never be out of the perfect will of God. Created in the Father's image, they were creatures of love and light. The enemy therefore could not bring defeat, as there was no open door for sin to slip through. Love would conquer all and the light of God shined only on the good. God planted a beautiful garden for His children to live in, a literal paradise. They were to continue extending the garden until the whole earth would have become a paradisaical home for all of humanity. They were physically free from all corruption and death, and spiritually free from the rulers of darkness as they were children of light. There was no evil in them, therefore, even the rulers of darkness could not subdue them. Light dispels darkness, so these children of God could not be brought into bondage. They had total dominion, that is until they 2
disobeyed God's commandment to not eat of the knowledge of the Tree of Good and Evil and began to speak from the information Satan fed them. To love God is to obey His commandments. But, because of our lawlessness, what was once perfect, or as God put it, it was good, has been reduced to the crumbling, failing world we see today. Now we are educated through the world's school systems, trapped and in bondage to the world's banking systems, and governed by the world's leaders. What a sad state of affairs we are in. How can we be delivered? How can we possibly Passover physically into God's Kingdom? We cry out for God to set us free! Free of Satan, free from sickness, pain and death, free from this world! Father has always intervened when His people cried out to Him for help. He pulled down the Tower of Babel, burned Sodom and Gomorrah, destroyed and subdued those that opposed his family as in the era of Moses, the Maccabees and Esther, and He will do it again! As Adam and Eve passed over from eternity to time, so one day we will physically as well as spiritually pass over from time to eternity. Here are a few nuggets of truth gleaned from Judaism that will help us to begin our walk on the narrow path leading full circle back to the garden. The structure of the Hebrew language hints at the goal of freedom of the mouth 3
or the mouth set free at Pesach, which is the Hebrew word for Passover. Let me explain. Pesach, divided into two words: Peh Sach, actually means the mouth speaks or freedom of the mouth. Understanding this definition will better equip us to understand why God instituted the feast of Passover, and why He wants His people to remember how He set them free from Egypt. The whole episode was symbolic of a future freedom from Satan's lies, his knowledge, and slavery to his world. We will also gain a much better understanding of why God let those that constantly complained die in the wilderness before He gave access to the promised land to the few that remained. To begin with, Pharaoh is symbolic of Satan. In fact, Satan operated through the man to oppress God's people. The word Paroh (pharaoh) divided into two words: Peh Rah, means bad mouth. So whose image is mankind reflecting when we complain, get angry, curse, whatever? Another similarity, God's people were in slavery to Pharaoh's world and forced to build his empire. We today are in slavery as well. We work within man's systems, making others rich while we are barely making a living, experiencing many times very difficult work. The word in Hebrew for this type of work is Perach. When broken into two words, Peh Rach means loose mouth which started all our problems in the first place through Eve speaking loosely, apart from God, apart from her husband, to Satan. She couldn't rest in what God had for her to 4
do, which was multiply, be fruitful, subdue and rule the earth, she wanted more! Thus, dead works, Perach, came into being. So, combining these facts with what we know concerning the Passover and Exodus of God's people from Egypt, could it be that there will be a Passover feast where we too will be set completely free? Could our mouths be set free from all the words spoken based on knowledge taught by the Tree of Good and Evil? As we are bound to our words according to scripture, could we be set free also from the cords of iniquity that bind us to the lies we have told, the cords that connected us to others through complaining, even cords to the words we spoke in anger etc.? As we look back to Israel's deliverance from Pharaoh, bad mouth, could the whole scenario be a foreshadow of this release? Could today's Passover even free us from bondage to the world's systems and slavery to difficult work, or the dead works of man? Would it allow us to enter into God's rest, be content with what He has called us to do and fulfill our part in establishing His Kingdom? Could we be the ones who finally act on the plan He predestined for mankind to accomplish? Could it even be that experiencing the feast of Passover would give us a chance to completely start over, be cleansed and set free to be vessels the Lord can use to speak a new heaven and new earth into being? Oh, I almost forgot, most of the church 5
doesn't recognize the feasts of God, hmmm.. Now let us look at a nugget of truth from Christianity. Positionally Satan has been defeated through Christ's resurrection and legally Satan has no right to those born through Him. Their sins are covered by Christ's blood, but there are still keys to experiencing the physical victory over death and the grave as promised in I Corinthians 15:51 54. First there must be a united, free will decision in each of our minds to live through the thoughts of God by choosing the Tree of Life. Eve's decision must be reversed. Besides, God's knowledge will keep our thoughts pure and direct our walk away from the darkness concealing deadly enemy's traps. It will stop us from even stepping into shades of gray that would cleverly pull us back into Satan's world. Secondly, Satan's lies will be clearly exposed and made obvious by the light of God as truth illuminates our minds. We will no longer be fooled by the soulish glamor of the world to be the world's stars, or misled any longer by its lawless thinking as all is naked in this illuminating light. Only the born again can walk bold and strong in the light of God. They have nothing to hide, not even their thoughts as they have Passed over from the thinking derived from the Tree of Good and Evil to wisdom and Truth from the Tree of Life. They walk in the knowledge of Christ, the Word, Jesus. They are in His image. He is the Bright and Morning Star and these, with mouths set free, reflecting His light are His stars that speak and sing His message. 6
Now here is the biggest promised key. In the Hebrew dictionary of the Strongs Concordance, the number 561 means Word. This number then tracks to 560 meaning, declare, say, which goes to 563 meaning bringing forth a lamb! This means we can overcome and reverse Satan's original lie, you can be like God knowing good and evil, as well as all the sin that evolved from Eve's wrong choice of knowledge, as we declare or say truth. It releases the already victorious Lamb on the scene. Each of us therefore can personally be set free from being false witnesses, liars, all manner of cursing and complaining, even the false doctrines we were entangled in or have taught. Whatever wrong we have spoken, as we repent for being a bad mouth, we will be forgiven through the sacrificial blood of the Passover Lamb. Also, the actual evil knowledge and its source, though positionally defeated by the resurrection of the Word, will physically manifest when our personal thoughts are fed by knowledge from Tree of Life, and the resulting word of our testimony is given through mouths set free, mouths that have experienced Passover! As previously mentioned, scripture tells us we are bound, or have cords to our words. When our words are not Godly, neither are we. The Hebrew word for cord translates as rope, inheritance (as measured), a company as tied together, bind (as a pledge or covenant). So our words, our bad mouths, have bound us 7
to Satan. They have made us a part of his covenant. They have tied us to a company of others that think and speak like him, making us a part of his body, Antichrist! Now here is a very sad situation for the church to meditate on, we dared to take communion in this state with Christ! With joy however we remember the feast of Passover, Peh Sach, the mouth speaks or the mouth set free, and the beautiful gift of repentance as depicted by the feast of Unleavened Bread. We can also be born again new creatures as symbolized by the feast of First Fruits, all of this made possible because of Jesus. These three feasts are combined in one holy convocation that offers salvation to mankind. As the Strongs trace reveals, the victorious Lamb can be brought into any area of life where we need help, through our words, our testimony. Victory for all creation in fact, hinges on the knowledge we gain from the Tree of Life, the Lamb of God. It is also good news that as we mature we can Passover from the knowledge of the Tree of Good and Evil, be set free of Satan's bad mouth, and reverse all the evil we, as descendants of Adam and Eve, have spoken into being. Isn't it terrible that our own words have manifested or spoken into being corruption, death and decay to our planet! So again, victory, restoration and eternal life, comes through speaking the Word through mouths set free at Passover and the blood of the Passover Lamb. 8
So, let us celebrate this Passover Feast by renouncing Satan, bad mouth, the Tree of Good and Evil. Let us loose the cords to the fruit of his knowledge from our hearts and minds, and cast intellect into the pit. Let us repent of our bad mouth, our dead works and sever the cords to Satan's body of people. Then, let us focus our thoughts on the Tree of Life, remembering His sacrifice for us and all the covenant promises of God as we take communion. This time let us enter into His covenant, with delivered mouths, minds and hearts, as a Bride without spot, wrinkle or wrong thought. Let our mouth speak a pure testimony of love as we sing praise to Him. In closing, as His family let us celebrate the first Passover of this age, passing over from the 7 th day to the 8 th day. As His church, let us celebrate the Passover from the old church to the glorious, new, triumphant church. As children of God, let us wait in eager anticipation for the promised Passover from time to Eternity. As Kingdom people, we rest in God as the systems of the old world Passover to God's Kingdom of Light. 9
Finally, as the seed of Abraham, heirs of both covenants and all of God's promises of restoration, we along with all creation await the Passover to a new heaven and a new earth. Have a great Passover family of God! Visit our website http://www.trumpetsoftruth.com 10
