THE WORSHIP OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS THE LORD Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost In God, His people are one. August 20, 2017 11:00 a.m. WE COME BEFORE GOD The Gathering of God s People The Prelude The Welcome and Announcements The Chiming of the Hour The Invocation and the Lord s Prayer Our Father, which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom, and the Power and the Glory, forever and ever. Amen. The Introit The Call to Worship Psalm 67 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, That your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, For you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us. God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him. The Hymn of Praise No. 10 The Pastoral Prayer How Great Thou Art WE LISTEN FOR GOD S WORD The First Scripture Lesson Isaiah 56:1, 6-8

The Children s Sermon The Hymn of Faith No. 395 God of Grace and God of Glory The Offertory Prayer The Collection of Tithes and Offerings The Doxology Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly hosts; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. The Anthem The Second Scripture Lesson Psalm 95:1-7 The Response to the Reading of God s Word This is the Word of God for the People of God: Thanks be to God. What goes into a man s mouth does not make him unclean, but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him unclean. The Benediction The Congregational Response May the grace of Christ our Savior and the Father s boundless love, With the Holy Spirit s favor, Rest upon us from above. AMEN. The Postlude

Please contact Lisa at nathanlisamorgan@comcast.net if you are interesting in helping with this ministry. White Flowers this morning We extend our heartfelt Christian sympathy to Mac and Lynda McVearry in the death of Lynda s sister, Carole Moltrup, on August 12. Mrs. Moltrup was 74 years old and lived in Florida. We also remember our dear friend and church member, Acie Watts, Sr, age 82 years, who passed away on August 10. Mr. Watts was baptized here in September of 1965 and served as a Deacon. He also served as the driver of the former Haymarket Baptist Church school bus, picking up members each Wednesday night and Sunday mornings for worship. His funeral was held yesterday at Money and King Funeral Home and he is buried at Flint Hill Cemetery, Vienna. A white flower is placed in the service this morning in their memory. Please continue to keep these families in your prayers during this difficult time. New Deacon Nominations The Deacons are pleased to nominate Edith Kennedy and Ruth Nagy to Deacon Service beginning October 2017. There will be a special-called business meeting for the church members to vote on these nominations on Sunday, September 3, immediately following the service.
