About Student Venture Student Venture is the high school and junior high ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. Now in its 44th year, Student Venture is both a national and global ministry. We have more than 450 staff members, interns and volunteers working with students at 200 high school and middle school campuses in at least 20 U.S. cities. Globally, we partner with teams and churches in more than seven countries. The purpose of Student Venture is to glorify God by helping to fulfill the Great Commission. We see a day when every teenage student will have the opportunity to know and follow Christ. And our mission is to build spiritual movements so that every middle school and high school student has that opportunity. With this in mind, we focus our energies in three main areas: Winning (sharing our faith), Building (discipling students in their faith), and Sending (training and equipping students to multiply their faith). Our plan of Win, Build, and Send to reach every teenage student includes: 1. Launch going where we are not. 2. Multiply growing where we are. 3. Involve engaging community on mission. During the 2010-11 school year, Student Venture presented the gospel to 192,777 individuals through ongoing field ministry, evangelistic websites, global mission projects and student conferences. Of those who heard the gospel, 12,418 individuals indicated decisions to trust Christ. We currently have 4,350 involved students plus 339 individuals who participated in Global Venture international mission projects held in the spring and summer. Also, more than 1,000 students are involved in follow-up generated from three evangelistic websites. God is so very good. We are honored that He chooses to use Student Venture to further His kingdom. We celebrate the Lord and these very special changed lives! Thursday, September 1 Mark 9:7 Pray for a strong, faith-filled, courageous start to the school year for staff members, volunteers and student leaders. Friday, September 2 Mark 9:23 Ask the Lord to enlarge our faith as we follow Him onto new campuses and establish new ministry partnerships. Saturday, September 3 Mark 9:30-34 Pray that Student Venture teams will be focused on ministry values and mission but also filled with love and a passion for Christ. Sunday, September 4 Mark 9:35-37 Pray for timely completion of volunteer training videos and for Student Venture to well equip and train volunteers and student leaders. 2

God s Plan Student Venture s Mission We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. Colossians 1:28 (NIV) WE Collectively, we are Student Venture staff members, interns and volunteers, working together with the larger body of Christ. PROCLAIM HIM We are compelled to share the life-changing Person of Jesus Christ. TO EVERY Our target audience is every teenager: 24 million in the U.S. and nearly one billion more worldwide. SO THAT As teenagers grow in spiritual maturity, we send them out to proclaim Jesus Christ. For teenagers to hear the truth about Christ, we must go to where they are the high school and junior high campus. Darryl Smith Executive Director, Student Venture Campus Crusade for Christ Monday, September 5 Mark 9:38-41 Pray for the spiritual health and growth of student discipleship groups and for more student leaders who are actively leading. Tuesday, September 6 Mark 9:42-48 Ask the Lord to guide Student Venture staff members raising support to new contacts and referrals who will become ministry partners. Wednesday, September 7 Mark 9:49-50 May we partner well with the college ministry and help cast vision for how they can reach and disciple high school students in their areas. Thursday, September 8 Mark 10:13-16 Praise God! More than half of our new staff members have over 80 percent of their support raised! May God enable them to complete the rest quickly. Friday, September 9 Mark 10:17-22 Pray we would follow up well with students God has entrusted to us and have wisdom in discipling them within their limited availability. Saturday, September 10 Mark 10:23-27 Pray for start-up of Student Venture at more middle schools - for faculty advisors, partnering parents and the ministries to be student-led. 3

It s Time! In John 17, Jesus states, the hour has come, referring to the completion of His earthly ministry and crucifixion. This proclamation is a prayer: Jesus prays for Himself, then for His disciples and then for future believers. Following the example of Jesus focus on prayer at such a crucial time, Student Venture will hold It s Time. It s Time, a national prayer and mission conference, will be held October 8-10, 2011, in Houston, Texas. The conference will gather teenagers from around the U.S. to intentionally seek the Lord. The vision is for students to grow deeper in their prayer life and as a result, impact their families, friends, school and country. National speakers and worship leaders will lead students through times of individual and corporate prayer as well as prayer training. The desire is for all 200 Main Prayer Points: - September is a key month for promotion and recruiting to this conference! Please pray for provision of the resources needed and for God to compel the hearts of students (and their parents) to participate. - Pray for 700 (the cap) people to come, and then beyond that for God to open up a way campuses with Student Venture ministries to be represented at the conference. Additionally, students from catalytic campuses and schools where ministry can be launched, key ministry partners, college students and community youth leaders are invited. The mission is for the conference to serve as a springboard for teenagers to have a deeper prayer life back home and get their friends involved in life-changing prayer. Each student will be challenged to leave with something specific to for the conference to broadcast online. - Please pray for every Student Venture campus to be represented and for new movements to be launched as a result of this conference. - The conference team desires that the only cost students pay is for their flight/travel. Praise God for all the speakers and singers incorporate in their walk with God and a personal course of action requiring them to step out in faith at school. Nationally, the vision is for It s Time to be a catalyst in three ways: Launch prayer movements nationwide. Launch new catalytic campuses birthed in prayer. Launch internationally with a big push for 2012 Global Venture mission projects. who have given up their honorariums. Please ask God to provide all the resources needed (housing, airline mileage points, financial support, etc.). - Pray students will leave with something specific for which to trust God. - Pray students will leave with something specific to incorporate at their schools. Sunday, September 11 Mark 10:46-52 Seek the Lord for wisdom and provision to leverage technology to reach and follow up students, including $55,000 for underfunded projects. Monday, September 12 Mark 10:1-12 Continually ask God to keep the staff and those working alongside us free from sexual sin, with strong marriages and all of us above reproach. Tuesday, September 13 Mark 10:28-31 Pray Student Venture would reach new students in new areas on campuses. May God lead us to those He has prepared to respond to the gospel. Wednesday, September 14 Mark 10:41-45 Ask the Lord to give supernatural momentum to all of Student Venture s fundraising efforts for city scholarships and for operating funds. 4

A good place to get a small but flavorful taste of God s work, deserving fully alert prayer Student Venture-Globally Global Venture, the international team of Student Venture, helps reach every teenager with the gospel by serving local leaders in other countries as they establish and grow spiritual movements in their communities. From mission projects with teams of American high school students to the training and equipping of local national staff members, Global Venture has seen the power of God change lives all around the world. This year, the vision of what God will do keeps growing. Global Venture will continue to serve its established partnerships in East Asia, Ecuador, Hungary, Kenya, Portugal, Russia and Slovakia. As well, the ministry is trusting God to begin new movements in Canada, Estonia and South Africa. For summer 2012, plans are formulating to celebrate 10 years of high school ministry in Kenya by sending five mission project teams on an evangelistic blitz to reach more Kenyan high school students for Christ. Two of Thursday, September 15 Mark 11:1-7 Pray for every team to be fully funded and develop a sense of community among ministry partners in reaching teens with the good news. these mission teams will extend to Uganda and Tanzania to help start high school movements there. Additionally, Estonia has requested 15 mission teams. HeartBeat Tallinn, a year long special strategy in Estonia, has the vision to see every high school student in Estonia reached in 2012. In 35 countries outside the U.S., high school ministries exist with local national leadership. More and more this number grows as countries seek to reach their teenagers. Many countries hunger to see these teenagers reached through extending student-led movements to include high school students. Please pray for Global Venture: To know how best to serve these nations in starting and growing their high school ministries. For completion by mid-november of and for guidance over the revision of a U.S. handbook on how to start school ministries into a transferable resource on how to start high school ministries globally. For God to raise up the laborers for new movements - from staff members and STINTers to local national leaders of college students, teachers and youth leaders. For the needed teams of U.S. high school students, Student Venture staff members and volunteers who will go on the mission projects. Friday, September 16 Mark 11:8-14 Pray with us that we would not rely upon our own strength, but would depend upon God, humbly walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. 5

Saturday, September 17 Mark 11:15-18 Ask the Lord for additional healthy partnerships with local churches in every community and for students to get involved at local churches. Sunday, September 18 Mark 11:19-26 Praise God for providing volunteers and partnerships with the college ministry. Pray they would increase this year, in the U.S. and globally. Wednesday, September 21 Mark 12:28-34 Ask God to raise up multiplying disciples from students already involved and those we are yet to meet. May He burden students to reach friends. Thursday, September 22 Mark 12:35-44 Pray for the Lord s wisdom, direction and provision for needed improvements and upgrades of Student Venture websites and print media. Friday, September 23 Mark 13:1-8 Ask the Lord to encourage new staff members raising support, protecting them from the enemy s lies and isolation, their minds renewed in the Word. Saturday, September 24 Mark 13:28-32 Pray about rapid development of the best simplified content for a mobile app that will allow us to effectively train 10 times as many volunteers. Sunday, September 25 Mark 13:33-37 Ask the Lord to glorify His name and His work through the ministry of Student Venture in the hearts of ministry partners and on each campus. Monday, September 26 Mark 13:24-27 Ask the Lord to increase our borders and introduce us to new people around the world who want to partner with the Student Venture movement. 6

When Teachers Pray and Ministries Partner For 12 years a group of teachers at South High School in Omaha, Nebraska prayed for their school. One of their requests was for God to send a Christian ministry to help them reach their students. Today, those teachers and their students see continual fruit from all those prayers, many answered through Student Venture. Part of the answered prayers is Lindsey Zach, a 2002 graduate from South High. In 2008, she had just joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) and visited South High to meet with her former teacher, Shawn Hoschar. While Lindsey explained the college ministry of Campus Crusade to Shawn, he asked her about starting a similar ministry at South High. That year, Lindsey began a partnership between the UNO campus ministry and the Student Venture Nebraska team. This partnership allowed Lindsey and her husband to split their time between the college campus and starting Student Venture at South High. Teachers, school staff and several students joined the Zachs to plan outreaches, develop fundraisers, and lead small groups. Over the last three years, the movement at South High and the partnership with the college ministry has grown. The Zachs and the Student Venture team continue to work with eight teachers and school staff members who are trained in the ministry of Win, Build, Send. They have seen many students reached with the gospel right on their campus. Last year, a local middle school teacher heard about the ministry at South High and asked about starting Student Venture at her school, Marrs Middle School. It didn t take long for Student Venture to begin there, with college students leading it. Student Venture continues to be effective as a ministry through prayer, volunteers and college partnerships. The vision of reaching every teenager cannot be accomplished without these key components. South High and Marrs Middle are two examples of how God uses all three. From 12 years of teachers praying, God s faithfulness has brought hope to two schools and is transforming many lives. Tuesday, September 27 Mark 14:1-6 Pray for Sept. 28 See You At The Pole gatherings around flagpoles before school starts to embolden Christian students and salvation to sweep U.S. campuses. Wednesday, September 28 Mark 14:7-9 Pray about completion of a three-minute gospel presentation video. May the Spirit cause it to go viral on various social media and draw many to Jesus. Thursday, September 29 Mark 14:12-16 Pray for wisdom in developing a comprehensive communication plan that ministers to partners and keeps them informed, feeling part of something special. Friday, September 30 Mark 14:22-26 May the staff and volunteers have a greater hunger and deeper communion with Jesus, so the focus remains on Him and not on doing ministry. 7
