Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

The First Garments of The High Priest: Exodus 29:4-5 And Aaron and his sons you shall bring to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and you shall wash them with water. 5 Then you shall take the garments, put the tunic on Aaron, and the robe of the ephod, the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the intricately woven band of the ephod.
Clothing The over garments that begin with the robe where the service garments of dignity and authority. The Blue robe was the first over garment on top of the linen tunic. The robe was comprised of two parts; the robe itself and the hem. Turn to Exodus 28:31-36
Exodus 28:31-16 Make the robe that is worn with the ephod from a single piece of blue cloth, 32 with an opening for Aaron s head in the middle of it. Reinforce the opening with a woven collar so it will not tear. 33 Make pomegranates out of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and attach them to the hem of the robe, with gold bells between them. 34 The gold bells and pomegranates are to alternate all around the hem. 35 Aaron will wear this robe whenever he ministers before the Lord, and the bells will tinkle as he goes in and out of the Lord s presence in the Holy Place. If he wears it, he will not die.
As the emphasis of the linen tunic was the linen white itself, so the first emphasis of the robe is its color, blue. Blue in scripture is the color of Gods presence as well as the color that represents the Word of God and healing. Exodus 24:10 and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be pavement of Sapphire, as clear as the sky itself. Ezekiel 1:26 Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, it appeared like [it was made of] sapphire or lapis lazuli; and [seated] on that which looked like a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man.
The High Priest Sapphire and Lapis Lazuli
As the emphasis of the linen tunic was linen and white so the first emphasis if the robe is blue. Blue in scripture is the color of Gods presence as well as the color that represents the Word of God and healing. Numbers 15:38-40 Speak to the children of Israel: Tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners. 39 And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined, 40 and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your God.
The Blue and White Tassel: The Jews call it the tzitzit (pronounced TSI-tsit). Sick people longed to touch the hem of Jesus garment, that is, the tassels themselves.
Malachi 4:2 But to you who fear My name, The Sun of Righteousness shall arise, With healing in His wings; And you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. The word translated corner in Numbers 15 is the Hebrew (canaph). This word is translated in other passages and contexts as "wing, winged, border, corner, shirt." It is the same word used of the wing of a bird, the wing or extension of a building (such as the temple), the wings of cherubs.
Turn to Luke 8:40-48 Other passages emphasizing the tassel or hem: Matthew 14:36 and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well. Mark 6:56 Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged Him that they might just touch the border of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well.
The woman in Luke, by reaching out and touching the tassels of Jesus, was expressing by this action that she believed Jesus to be the Messiah. The blue robe of the High Priest is perfectly fulfilled in Jesus Christ. In Christ we have His abiding Presence, we have His Sovereign Word and we receive His gracious healing. His robe is our robe. Do you possess the robe of the presence of God?
