Ask students the following questions: What would be a reward for acceptable behavior? What would be a consequence for unacceptable behavior? Which do you prefer, rewards or consequences? Scripture Summary There was a man in the bible named Eli. He was a church leader, priest and parent. Eli did not show characteristics of a strong leader. Strong leaders have an ability to enforce God s laws and influence others to change inappropriate behavior. Eli did not address the ungodly things others were doing including his sons, Hophni and Phinehas. He refused to handle situations in a way that would please God. despise me Key Verse Exercise and those who Read the verse to remember aloud. Approximately 5 minutes later, the child damaged a movie display with the ball. The little boy s mother still did not say anything to the him or let the movie staff know what happened. Aaliyah was really upset by the mother s inaction. She asked Akeem s mother, Why won t she make him stop throwing the ball? He already broke something. If he keeps it up, someone could get hurt. Tori said, Remember what happened to Eli because he did not respond appropriately to his sons behavior? Aaliyah replied, Oh yeah. God handled that situation. Some students asked questions about what those candidates would do for schools. Others asked what they would do for the community.
