Rev. Hal Melton, hmelton@tbcraleigh.com Jobs 4 Life New Class Beginning in September TBC s Lead Team has completed 17 J4L classes with 110 graduates! We ve seen around 80 different volunteers involved in this mission. Jobs for Life is a Raleigh-based international organization that mobilizes churches to reach out to the unemployed/underemployed and equip them to better succeed in the workplace. Each JfL church provides biblical instruction, job training, coaching, and personal support to their city s neediest citizens, helping lift them from dependency to self-sufficiency as a part of God s purpose for meaningful work. Church volunteers are equipped with the training & resources, including a biblicallybased curriculum and local employers who participate in round table discussions and mock interviews. Each student is provided at least one volunteer Champion who serves as mentor and cheerleader for the class. This Fall s class will begin with a Meet and Greet on Sunday, September 17. If you would like to serve as a Champion, please contact Pat Royals at pbr53@aol.com or 919-427-0004. Rev. Steve Byers, slbyers@tbcraleigh.com Music Notes Special thanks to Joy Blashaw and Maury Tepper for leading in music ministry this past week while I am away on vacation. I have been blessed to know that when I need to go out of town or cannot be at rehearsals or worship, I always have willing servants ready to take over and carry the worship responsibilities. Thank you, church, for continuing to support our choirs and musicians prayerfully as they serve all year long. Sing With Us Considering being a part of one of our worship leading choirs? Summer is a good time to join while things are at a slower pace. We really need to grow our two lead choirs for worship services. There are many here with musical gifts that God has given them to use, but the time and commitment can be difficult and sometimes confounding. We work with all who have varied schedules and commitments! First Light Rehearses Sundays mornings at 8:00 am Sings for the 8:45 am worship service. This choir desires to grow and continue to do God s work in song, but we need more willing people to come and join us. Sanctuary Choir Rehearses each Wednesday night This choir is our largest of the two choirs. Come sing with us. Join in on the fun and fellowship of music in ministry. We welcome you! Summer Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal Schedule July 5 No Choir July 12 Choir 7:30 pm MP Room July 19 No Choir July 26 Choir 7:30 pm MP Room August 2, 9 Choir 7:30 pm, MP Room August 6 Choir 7:45 pm Men s Choir It isn t too late to still come and join with other guys in the Men s Choir in song. Under the direction of Nathan Snell Wednesday Nights 6:30pm-7:15pm B-236 Come make a joyful noise and try something new! The summer months are a good time to relax and have great times with other church members. This ensemble is open to men who want to come and serve. Give it a try! Children s Choir Workers Needed Beginning August 30 We will have openings in the preschool music area with 3 s and the 4 s and 5 s. If you have musical skill or if you just like being with preschoolers and having fun in music, prayerfully consider and let s talk together and find a way to get you involved in music ministry!

Katie Medlin, kmedlin@tbcraleigh.com f or our c h i l d ren Our Summer Bible study series is called Faith>Fear. Every week we are discussing and dialoguing about different fears we have in life and how to give those fears over to God and live with FAITH. Parenting is a daunting task, one that requires great patience, wisdom, and love. Being a mom, dad or caregiver begs a certain amount of selflessness. Our world can be a dark and tempting place, but God is sovereign. He is trustworthy as we live out our lives with Him, so He should be able to handle our kids. The tendency to worry about our children can be strong but we must learn how to release our children to God. Parenting out of fear can make us an overbearing, controlling parent. Raise your children to honor God, and He will guide them. Too many times, controlling parents react to life when it comes to their children out of fear and end up damaging their relationship with them. We must allow the Holy Spirit and God s Word to guide you in how to raise your kids. You will not be let down, as Hannah s song so perfectly says, My heart rejoices in the LORD! The LORD has made me strong. We also should pray and rejoice over the children in our lives. We can shower them with prayers each morning, even before they wake. Missing Pagers We are missing quite a few pagers. If you have accidently taken a pager home on a Sunday morning please return it as soon as possible! I believe the key to parenting without fear is to release our children to the Lord. He will hold them in the palms of His hands, as He does you. Pray for your kids, blessing them in Jesus name. Rejoice in His creation and the uniqueness found in each of your children. And do it openly so they see God in you and want that faith in their lives. Trouble will undoubtedly find them, but faith, not fear, will help your children overcome. Join us each Wednesday night at 6:30 in the Chapel as we learn as a community of believers how to let faith not fear rule our lives. Volunteer! Be a part of Extended Teaching Care. Extended Teaching Care (ETC) is a ministry that allows parents of our congregation to place their babies and preschoolers in a secure environment where they can learn while parents worship. We are looking for adults who love children, want to nurture children, and are looking for a way to serve here at Trinity. Remember you only serve 4 times a year! Your volunteering makes a BIG difference in the kingdom and allows us to teach our youngest about the love of God. It makes a difference in the life of a child AND their parents!
