E&O P6 RERC 2-02a I explore the Biblical stories of Creation and I can reflect on how we understand these truths in our modern world. Core learning: I can hear, read and recall the parable of the talents (Matthew 25: 14-30).

Matthew 25:14-30 The Parable of the Talents For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them; to one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. The one who had received the five talents went off at once and traded with them, and made five more talents. In the same way, the one who had the two talents made two more talents. But the one who had received the one talent went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master s money. RERC 2-02a Image of God 1of3 P6

Matthew 25:14-30(cont d) The Parable of the Talents After a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. Then the one who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five more talents, saying, Master, you handed over to me five talents; see, I have made five more talents. His master said to him, Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master. RERC 2-02a Image of God 2of3 P6

Matthew 25:14-30(cont d) RERC 2-02a Image of God The Parable of the Talents And the one with the two talents also came forward, saying, Master, you handed over to me two talents; see, I have made two more talents. His master said to him, Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master. 3of3 Then the one who had received the one talent also came forward, saying, Master, I knew that you were a harsh man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed; so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours. P6

E&O P6 RERC 2-02a I explore the Biblical stories of Creation and I can reflect on how we understand these truths in our modern world. Core learning: I know that, with the help of the Holy Spirit, my gi6s and talents can be used to give witness to Jesus and for the service of others.

empowered by the Holy Spirit

How can you give witness to Jesus in your daily life?

How can you be of service to your class, school, or parish family?

Consider volunteering for one of the ministries in your parish.

E&O P6 RERC 2-02a I explore the Biblical stories of Creation and I can reflect on how we understand these truths in our modern world. Invite people from your Parish to talk about their Ministries in the Church. Make a class book Illustrating the various ministries. Core learning: I have investigated the ways in which people give their time and talents to serve their parish and I know that these acts of service are called ministries.

E&O P6 RERC 2-02a I explore the Biblical stories of Creation and I can reflect on how we understand these truths in our modern world. Discuss how boys and girls treat each other fairly in your class and school. Is this reflected in your classroom rules? Core learning: I know that men and women are equal and complement each other.

E&O P6 RERC 2-02a I explore the Biblical stories of Creation and I can reflect on how we understand these truths in our modern world. In pairs, talk about your ideas of working together for the good of all in your class, school, parish, and community. Core learning: I know that men and women, boys and girls, work together and cooperate for the common good.

E&O P6 RERC 2-02a I explore the Biblical stories of Creation and I can reflect on how we understand these truths in our modern world. Core learning: I am aware that God has a plan for me and that I will change physically, emotionally and spiritually.

E&O P6 RERC 2-02a I explore the Biblical stories of Creation and I can reflect on how we understand these truths in our modern world. Core learning: I recognise that the changes in my body at puberty are part of God s plan for me.

There are physical changes at puberty which are all part of God s plan. Discuss how you have changed since Primary 1.

The emotional changes of puberty are often positive but can also cause sudden changes of mood. Talk about this with your teacher.

Puberty is also a time of great spiritual growth and awareness of the mystery and gift of human life.
