Welcome to worship! We hope it will be a quiet space for you as you prepare to spend time with God amid life s busyness & storms. We honour each other s desire for peace as we gather. We are glad you are here! Ask an usher for large print bulletins & hearing devices WE GATHER IN GOD S HOPE VU: Voices United MV: More Voices * Please rise in body and/or Spirit as you are able. We would like to acknowledge that we are on the Haldimand Tract, traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishnaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Welcome & Announcements Lighting the Christ Candle Prelude *Opening Hymn When Long before Time VU 248 Call to Worship One: We remember the wilderness God created, the wild places on Earth, the worlds of wonder and mystery, the distant dreamings of dark places. All: We remember the wild worlds and hiding places of our childhood, where we felt the mystery of caves and wild creatures in the mountains. One: We remember and rejoice. All: We celebrate the quite places, we mourn for those times when we felt most alone, and we give thanks for the wild places that stir us with wonder. One: We give thanks for these gifts of creation, which remind us of the presence of God. - 2 -

Opening Prayer All: God, our Creator, whose glory fills our planet, help us to discern your vibrant presence among us and our kin in creation, especially in the rocks, the deserts and the wild world of the unexplored wildernesses. Help us empathise with your creatures who are suffering. Lift our spirits to rejoice together with all of creation. In the name of Christ, who reconciles and renews all things in creation. We pray using these words or words more familiar to us: Lord s Prayer All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. For ever and ever. Amen. Hymn God of the Sparrow VU 229 Story Time Youth and Children are invited to head out for Sunday School! Minute for Mission WE LISTEN FOR GOD S WORD Reading from the Scriptures: (from the New Revised Standard Version) Mark 1:9 13 Matthew 18:21-35 Anthem Called by Earth and Sky (Pat Mayberry) - 3 -
