1 I Wonder Wednesdays Wednesdays, 5 7pm WEEKLY LESSON PLAN Entering Sacred Space 5:00 a. Take off shoes b. Sign in c. Say hello to doorperson d. Take deep breaths, and slowly, softly enter the circle Building the Circle e. Rocks & Water ritual (see page 3) Getting Ready 5:08 f. Candle (lit by leader) g. We gather together with the common goal of learning about Jesus through stories and wondering. We will hear many different perspectives because each person sees things in their own way. We know that Jesus is in each of us, so as we learn about each other, we learn about Jesus. We agree to focus on listening and understanding each other, and by doing so, we will learn about Jesus. h. The Lord s Prayer i. wind chime Story & Wondering 5:10 j. Story (read from the text used by the women) k. Wondering two leaders will answer each question first to model vulnerability, honesty and what type of answer might be expected all leaders in attendance will focus on listening and understanding the participants rather than making themselves heard and understood the class leader will end the discussion of each question with what I heard was that reflective listening 1. I wonder what part of the story you liked best? 2. I wonder what part is the most important?

3. I wonder where you are in the story, or what part of the story is about you? 2 Work (ends 5:40) l. Sometimes God speaks to us in stories, and sometimes God speaks to us in silence. During our work time, we enter the silence and listen for God speaking to us through our work. Each of us will create a piece of art that shows something we learned about the Kingdom of Heaven this week. There are four stations, please choose a different station each week. Using the materials provided, we will create a word or picture to add to our Wonder Wall. m. Work (in silence) Sharing 5:40 n. Today we learned a lot about how the Kingdom of Heaven is like. Since we each have Jesus in us, we each have a unique and important part of Jesus to share. As we add our contribution to the Wonder Wall, we work together to understand the Kingdom of Heaven. o. Each person who wants to share takes a turn to put their work on the Wonder Wall p. Wind chime and clean up. Meal 6:00 q. Prayer: Leader r. Share meal Goodbyes 6:55 s. Clean up meal t. 3 ROCKS AND WATER RITUAL Rocks/Lows Jesus says, come to me all you who are weary and carrying heavy burdens and I will give you rest. (Matt 11:28) All of us experience things that feel hard, or heavy, or rough sometimes...like these rocks. Take a rock in your hands, then close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, noticing what might have felt hard, or rough, or heavy for you this week. (PAUSE) Now one at a time, we ll gently return our rocks to the bowl. As you place your rock in the bowl, you are invited to share a few words (if you wish) about your burden or hard thing. Water/Highs Jesus says, let everyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who wishes, take the water of life as a gift. (Rev. 22:17) This water reminds us that God s love, and life, and goodness flows over and under and around and even sometimes right out of the hard and rough places in life. Close your eyes and take a deep breath and notice what has been a gift for you this week. When have you experienced love or energy, joy or blessing? (PAUSE) Now one at a time, we ll carefully pour a little water over the rocks. As you pour the water, you are invited to share a few words (if you wish) about your blessings or good things.
