Creation Instruction Association www.creationinstruction.org 1770 S Overland Ave Juniata NE 68955 402 519-0301 CREATION PUTS AN END TO PRO-CHOICE Many people still question why teaching Creation (a six, 24 hour day creation with an earth only a few thousand years old) is so important. Romans will show us it is vital in understanding right from wrong, Christianity from Islam and other false religions. But without creation, true repentance will never come to this country and the September 11th tragedy will only be the beginning. Romans makes a clear connection between the creation, the Creator, and our choices in life: The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened (Rom 1:18-21). Notice that simply by viewing the creation we can see God's qualities, power and nature. If we fail to recognize God's attributes we are without excuse because they stare us right in the eyes every time we open our eyelids and view the creation. The well known

Psalm 139 states, "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psa 139:14). I am perplexed at the ability of a doctor to see the developing fetus and the intricate body, but yet deny that a Designer created it all. But what strikes me even more is what God states will happen to people who willingly deny God's hand in Creation. Let us see how the above Romans passage continues: "For although they knew God, [no such thing as an atheist] they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools" (Rom 1:21-22). Does this sound familiar? How can a doctor claim to be so wise with his degrees but yet be so foolish? The answer lies in the continuing verses where we see that God will blind them. "Therefore [because they rejected God as Creator] God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie" (Rom 1:24-25). But wait, there is more: "Because of this, [because they rejected God as Creator] God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. [Homosexuality comes from rejection of the Creator]. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion" (Rom 1:26-27). Oh, but we're still not done, "Furthermore, [because they reject God as Creator...get the point?] since they did not think it worthwhile [sound like our opening question] to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind [must have this to agree with abortion], to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity [all justifications of abortion]. They are full of

envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice...[and the list goes on]" (Rom 1:28-30). One need not think too deeply to understand that if we reject God as our Creator that leaves us with no one to tell us what to do because after all, we are just accidents. You want to practice sexual immorality? Go ahead if that is your choice... your opinion. You want to have an abortion? Go ahead if that's your choice...your opinion. Can you see how the very word pro-choice is a rejection of our God as Creator and Rule Giver? The Bible leaves us with no choice or opinions but only an absolute truth. If we believe in prochoice (no matter what those choices may be) when God has left us with a set of commands who are we going to have to answer to when we disobey those commands to follow our choices or opinions? God, our Creator! The only real choice we have is to decide whether we accept God's Word and Him as Creator and Rule Giver or reject God as Lord and Master of our life. When we reject absolute truth and choose to say black is white and wrong is right, God "gives us over to"....(you fill in the blanks, because it is your choice). Our society has been given over to abortion and other immoral acts because of "pro-choice", an anti- submissive philosophy to our relationship with God. He isn't our Creator who has the authority to set the rules for life, but rather a mere spiritual guide, teddy bear, or suggestion box. We have become like the Israelites in the book of Judges where it says, "In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit" (Judg 17:6). Even worse, rejecting God as Creator means the next natural step is to reject God as Savior. When we reject God as Savior we reject the only means of hope and a cure for abortion givers and receivers. If the Genesis account of origins isn't true, than Adam and Eve aren't real people. This means the Fall into sin isn't literal either. Therefore, death (the curse of sin) isn't a result of the fall.

Now we are in trouble. If death is natural, as an evolutionist would say, it can have no purpose or meaning. If death has no purpose or meaning, Jesus' death can have no purpose or meaning either. In fact, why would Jesus have needed to come to earth? He could have just stayed in heaven if dying wasn't absolutely necessary. But death DOES have meaning and purpose. It was the curse of our sin, and Jesus took that away from us by conquering death: "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. [through His death and resurrection ] (1 Cor 15:56-57). This is why Muslims and Buddhists have no hope of heaven because Jesus seen through creation is the only one who can conquer death (John 14:6). If, in my "pro-choice" attitude of life, I choose to believe that death is natural and the fossil record merely came about by animals dying without death having any meaning before Adam and Eve existed, then Eve's fall into sin can't be the cause of death since death was already in existence. If death was in this world before Adam and Eve and, therefore, has no purpose or origin (wasn't the curse of sin), then Jesus' death can have no purpose either. There was no "sting of death" to be taken away, therefore, Jesus was not the cure for death because there can be no cure if there is no disease. On the other hand, if my Pro-LIFE attitude towards God accepts death as a result and disease of sin, I can also accept the life giving cure He has given me through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ by which the sting of death was taken away. Though prochoices of the past may have left scars, the pro-life of Christ offers forgiveness and an eternal cure that is only available through our Creator. Therefore, teaching creation is vital to the heartbeat of every child, born or unborn because it will not only provide the absolute law that says that heartbeat needs to keep beating but it also assures the life of that child eternally. In addition to that, those who have gone astray can not experience the necessary healing that

comes about from the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, the Creator of the Universe. "Through [Jesus] all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it." (John 1:5). Have you understood the Light and why creation is so important?
