Luke 1:45 ********************* Pastor David M. Pointer Organist JoAnn Pointer 1420 N. Florida Ave. Tampa, FL 33602 www.geconline.org 813-273-6649 I had walked life s way with an easy tread; I had followed where comfort and pleasure led, Until one day in a quiet place, I met my Master face to face. With station and wealth and rank for a goal, Much thought for the body, but none for the soul, I had sworn to win in life s mad race Till I met my Master face to face. I had built my castles and reared them high, Till their domes had touched the blue of the sky; I had sworn to rule with an iron mace, Till I met my Master face to face. I met Him and knew Him, and blushed to see His eyes full of love were fixed upon me; And I faltered and fell at His feet that day, And my castles melted and vanished away; Melted and vanished, and in their place, I saw naught else but my Master s face. My thought is now for the souls of men; I have lost my life to find it again, Ever since that day in a quiet place, I met my Master face to face.

The second man threw his watch down the hill and it broke. The third man threw his watch down the hill, walked all the way to the bottom, and caught it. The other two men were puzzled and asked the third man how he did it. The third man said, "Easy. My watch is 5 minutes slow!" A dyslexic man walks into a bra. The Touch of the Master s Hand Twas battered and scarred, and the auctioneer Thought it scarcely worth his while To waste much time on the old violin, But held it up with a smile. What am I bid, good folk, he cried, Who ll start bidding for me? A dollar, a dollar now two, only two Two dollars, and who ll make it three? Three dollars once, three dollars twice, Going for three but no! From the room far back a gray-haired man Came forward and picked up the bow; Then wiping the dust from the old violin, And tightening up the strings, He played a melody, pure and sweet, As sweet as an angel sings. The music ceased, and the auctioneer, With a voice that was quiet and low, Said, What am I bid for the old violin? And he held it up with the bow. A thousand dollars and who ll make it two? Two thousand...and who ll make it three? Three thousand once, three thousand twice. And going and gone, said he. The people cheered, but some of them cried, We do not quite understand What changed its worth? The man replied, The touch of the master s hand. And many a man with life out of tune, And battered and torn with sin, Is auctioned cheap to the thoughtless crowd, Much like the old violin. A mess of pottage, a glass of wine, A game and he travels on; He s going once, and going twice, He s going and almost gone! But the Master comes, and the foolish crowd Never can quite understand The worth of a soul, and the change that s wrought By the touch of the Master s hand. Myra Brooks Welch
03/02/14 In Time of Trouble Acts 27:1-25 Luke 1:45 (Act 27:21) But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. (Mat 9:2) And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. (Mat 14:27) Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. (Mar 6:50) For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. (Joh 16:33) In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (Act 23:11) And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome. (Act 27:24) Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. (2Ch 20:20) Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. (Luk 1:45) And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
