From Pastor Rich: WORDS CANNOT BEGIN to express my gratitude to the congregation for the wonderful retirement celebration you hosted on August 30 and for the congregational gift of $1,055 and all the other gifts people shared with me! The Route 66 quilt is amazing (thanks Donnajean) and Richard Hare s hand-carved and hand-lettered retirement picture are treasures I ll always hold dear...along with the creative ASLC picture that Sam, Taylor, Izzy and Devotion gave me. Thank you all so much! Normally, when folks retire, they stay put. As you know, Sue and I have been working hard to move back to our home in Tecumseh MI and that means lots of painting, fixing-up, cleaning and packing/unpacking. We ve been putting in 12-14 hour days since the end of August, and are just about done moving out of our Toledo home (and moving out of my church office). We hope that, in the next few weeks, we can begin to experience what others tell us retirement should be. While we don t expect to be in Toledo every day, Sue and I hope to be back in town often. We welcome your emails (richardrentner49@gmail.com) and hope you ll keep us in your prayers. We will certainly pray often for you and for the ministries of All Saints! Love in Christ, Pastor Rich

It s Shoebox Time!! Throughout October until Nov. 8 we ll be collecting small items (school supplies, small toys, soap, etc.) to fill Shoeboxes. Now is a great time to get school supplies on sale! We will fill the boxes together on Sunday, Nov. 15 after church, so all items being donated will need to be at church by Sunday, Nov. 8 so we can shop for remaining items needed. A prayer for every day, all year long When it comes to prayer, there is no shortage of things, people and situations to include in prayerful conversations with God. Sometimes it helps to have a little prompting, a reminder of special concerns or causes for thanksgiving that might otherwise slip by us. The ELCA s Prayer Ventures offers such prayer prompts for every day. Prayer Ventures are daily suggestions for prayer that can be used for personal prayer time, adapted for use in worship or shared with members. They are posted for download a month in advance at www.elca.org/en/resources/prayer-ventures and include ~ SAVE THE DATE ~ December 19 & 20 6:00-8:00 pm All Saint s Annual Drive Thru Nativity Needed: Votive candles for the luminaries please no tea-lights. Thank you
