SHEPHERDING PRAYER Larry Valentine, Ruling Elder SCRIPTURE READING John 4:1 14 Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John 2 (although Jesus himself did not baptize, but only his disciples), 3 he left Judea and departed again for Galilee. 4 And he had to pass through Samaria. 5 So he came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob's well was there; so Jesus, wearied as he was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, Give me a drink. 8 (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to him, How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria? (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered her, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, Give me a drink, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water. 11 The woman said to him, Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock. 13 Jesus said to her, Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life. WE BRING GOD S TITHES & OUR OFFERINGS
COVENANTAL BAPTISM & NEW MEMBERS Charlotte Faith Nisbett and Joel & Gabrielle Nisbett WE SING A SONG OF ASSURANCE Amazing Grace Trinity Hymnal #460 Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come; Tis grace that brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be, as long as life endures. And when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. When we ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We ve no less days to sing God s praise Than when we first begun. John Newton Public Domain. CCLI License # 237793
PREACHING OF THE WORD Jesse York, Pastor A Twist of Grace Genesis 21:22 34 At that time Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army said to Abraham, God is with you in all that you do. 23 Now therefore swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my descendants or with my posterity, but as I have dealt kindly with you, so you will deal with me and with the land where you have sojourned. 24 And Abraham said, I will swear. 25 When Abraham reproved Abimelech about a well of water that Abimelech's servants had seized, 26 Abimelech said, I do not know who has done this thing; you did not tell me, and I have not heard of it until today. 27 So Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant. 28 Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock apart. 29 And Abimelech said to Abraham, What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs that you have set apart? 30 He said, These seven ewe lambs you will take from my hand, that this may be a witness for me that I dug this well. 31 Therefore that place was called Beersheba, because there both of them swore an oath. 32 So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Then Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army rose up and returned to the land of the Philistines. 33 Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba and called there on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God. 34 And Abraham sojourned many days in the land of the Philistines.
