Today s Prayer I am the living bread come down from heaven. Within the text Jesus is speaking to hungry followers who can t grasp his symbolic language. Behind the text the fledgling Church is trying to work out the meaning of the Eucharist, and how Jesus brings Judaism to fruition. For centuries many people inside and outside of the Church have struggled to understand this passage. Jesus said to the crowd: I am the living bread which has come down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever; and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world. Then the Jews started arguing with one another: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? they said. Jesus replied: I tell you most solemnly, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in you. Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life, and I shall raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in him. As I, who am sent by the living Father, myself draw life from the Father, so whoever eats me will draw life from me. This is the bread come down from heaven; not like the bread our ancestors ate: they are dead, but anyone who eats this bread will live for ever. If your child is sick, the best place for him/her is home. Please don t forget to notify us of any absences. InsightSRC surveys Thanks to all who have completed the online survey for us this year. You have until tomorrow to get this done. The responses to the survey help us develop a strategic plan for the coming years. 2019 is a review year for Resurrection Catholic Primary School, so this data will be very important in developing the review report and setting goals for the following four years. Reporting an Absence We are still experiencing some glitches in the system. These have been notified to the software provider. We ask for your patience as we work through these issues. However, it is important that we are notified of absences as soon as possible. If your child is running late for school, you must sign them in at the office. Carparks, Driveways Over the past couple of weeks, we have noticed a number of parents stopping in Gum Rd and Myuna Dve to drop their child/ren at school some children even getting out of the back seat on the driver s side! Please ensure that you are parking legally in the surrounding streets and that children are exiting the car safely (from the passenger side of the vehicle). No Smoking on School/Church Grounds Please kindly note that smoking is prohibited on our school/church grounds at all times. May God bless you, John Connors PRINCIPAL

HEALTH TIP FROM MS. GRECH

Program Update Term 3 The children have been involved in many activities playing games such as dodgeball (teachers vs students) and seeing some friendly competition. Occupied by enjoying soccer, catch, capture the flag and markers up, these games give the children the confidence and opportunity to demonstrate their physical and athletic skills. Each week we are involved in an art activity or a cooking activity for the morning and after-school care. The children made carrot cupcakes and absolutely loved them. Each Friday we provide the children with a delightful breakfast, serving: pancakes, french toast, scrambled eggs and many more meals that pleased the children. We have been able to go outside and enjoy the sun, have children more spirit-lifted in our planned activities and being active with our sport, welcoming our Gardening Club due to the new season. Spring is going to be taking on the next couple of months so the children will be exploring and enjoying more outdoor activities planned by the staff. We are strongly encouraging the children to complete their homework here at OSHClub as it allows them to have the time to work together and learn from each other. The children have really been utilising their time wisely and completing their homework after the OSH meeting and before play. It s a great opportunity to complete their homework especially because a lot of the children get picked up very late and don't have time to do their homework at home. Staff updates: Stephanie, Claudia, and Alex are the permanent educators working daily at Resurrection OSHClub with the support from causal workers coming and taking part in caring for the children and working alongside the staff. On the 20th of August Stephanie will be on leave for 4 weeks undergoing her placement next door at Movelle Primary School. Claudia will be taking charge of the centre in my absence with the support from the other staff members. Stephanie will return for the last week of term to celebrate the departure of the children and the OSHClub party. Every afternoon we still have our OSHClub meetings to discuss the activities, food, safety, and respect of one another. Children have the opportunity to express themselves and speak openly. Please note Parents if you are having issues with the new portal for enrolments or current accounts please come and see me Stephanie in the OSHClub room I am happy to help. If you don't find me in the room as I have finished for the day contact me on 0408 477 328 leave and message and I will return your call. Parents please book 24 hours prior to a session. The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. We look forward to seeing you!
