There seems to be some confusion about who can go on the Walk to Emmaus and who can work a Walk to Emmaus. I have a dear friend at church who said she would love to go but was told that because her husband did not attend church she couldn t go on a Walk to Emmaus. WHAT?! I quickly let her know that she most certainly CAN go on the Walk. What USUALLLY happens is that we would turn in her application and then she would have to sit out a walk while we pray for her husband to go. But on the next walk, whether he attends or not, she would most certainly be able to attend! So YES, if you know someone whose spouse either does not attend church or does not desire to go on the walk to Emmaus, it s okay just keep praying for the person who GOD wants you to sponsor and then let God take care Now, as for working a walk. When you turn in your application I believe that it is a good idea to plan on marking the days of the Walk on your calendar and plan on being off work those days. When you turn in an application you will be called to work the walk. If you have been called to work the hands and feet team the board would REALLY like for you to be able to attend the training BUT if you are unable to, that s okay, we still need and depend on you to work the walk! The Lay Director will get you in touch with your team leader to give you all the ins and outs of the specific area you are working for that weekend. So don t despair just come ready to serve as Jesus served! So in conclusion, if you have questions, PLEASE contact the Lay Director or someone on the board. We will make sure you have all the correct information. Karin Nuner Community Lay Director

The Last Gathering, hosted by Ada First United Methodist Church, indeed was a blessing to all. Their hospitality (which began at 7:30 a.m. for training) lasted all day long. I was one of the last people out and followed Gala and Pastor Jody Ham back to Ardmore. Since that trip home, I now have a better understanding of how Elisha felt when he was following Elijah on the day that Elijah went to heaven. Yes, Pastor Jody did escape me, but that was only because he had a tollway pass! As I watched their car speed away, it reminded me of that chariot going into heaven! I then considered the double blessing Elisha was after. Did I get one? Without hesitation I decided that everyone who had come to the gathering that evening had been doubly blessed including the lost blind dog. The food and fellowship, hospitality, praise and worship and 4th Day testimony given by Nancy Smith all together blessed us and I know blessed God. He was definitely among us. So, come to the March Gathering. Bring a dish you would like to share, perhaps a praise report and see what God has in store for us! Come for a blessing and be a blessing! Now is the time to get to work on that special agape. Remember all those neat ideas you thought about? Now what was that special scripture verse you thought about illustrating with a special piece of agape? As I look around me, where I m sitting right now, I see a roll of silver duct tape. (of all things!) The catch phrase: Jesus is better than duct tape He binds our wounds and heals the brokenhearted! Lip Balm catch phrase: Let His Word be on your lips! So many objects...so many ways to proclaim His love, promises and commands! When you fill out the applications online, it alerts Teresa and she knows to keep a look out for your applications in the mail. Pilgrim applications have to be printed because the PILGRIM S PASTOR MUST SIGN THE APPLICATION, and the completed application MUST BE MAILED with the reservation fee of $75.00 to complete the process. If you haven t looked at the online application, please do. You can fill out and submit your sponsorship portion if you don t have all of your Pilgrim s information yet. That will help Theresa to know that you have a pilgrim application coming. We are grateful to Joe Sherbert, our webpage administrator for developing the online application. If you have any questions, contact Teresa Liddell 580-276-1683 or email t4liddell@yahoo.com

So he went in to stay with them. 30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?
