Celebrating a Good Father By Pastor Peter McLewin I was blessed to have a good earthly father. He was a spiritual man who practiced what he believed. He was a man who overcame many personal challenges to live by faith. God spoke to him as a teenager about serving Him as a missionary. In 1949 the Lord sent him to South Africa to preach the Gospel. His whole life was devoted to the Lord. His veteran gravestone epitaph reads, Many believed his testimony. Not everyone is as blessed as I was to have a good father. Some have never known their father or have been deeply hurt by him. Very few people are neutral about their dad; either he was good to them or No earthly dad is perfect, but some of us really wish our dad was more present or kind toward us. It s no easy task to be a dad. The good news is that it is never too late to learn to be a better dad or learn how to see our dad through the eyes of Jesus. Jesus always sees more in us than we see in ourselves. All of us have access to the best heavenly Father in the world. Jesus taught valuable lessons about becoming part of His spiritual family when our relationship with our earthly parents does not go well. No matter how good our relationship with our earthly parents is, we can all benefit from a relationship with a spiritual mom or dad. More than that, we have a good heavenly Father who by His nature can only give us good gifts. God can never give you anything evil. On Pentecost Sunday I preached a message on the goodness of God and the good gifts He desires for us to have. The greatest gift Father wants to give to those who ask for it is more of His Holy Spirit. The more Holy Spirit we experience, the more we see how good God is and how much better He is than the best dad could ever be. (Listen to this message online at inglesidechurch.com/sermons. On the carousel click The Gospel of Luke folder, then scroll to the message, The Gift of Holy Spirit. ) If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Luke 11:13 Join us at Ingleside on Father s Day, June 17 th at 11:00am. We will have a special time to honor our dads past, present and future! JOINT WORSHIP SERVICES Sunday, June 17 th at 11am Sunday, June 24 th at 11am at INGLESIDE Home with the Lord Mrs. Mary VR Cook May 11, 2018 Age 77 Wife of former Ingleside Church pastor Ivey Cook Survived by sons George Cook & Stephen Cook, daughter Nancy Cook, and 2 grandchildren Mrs. Patricia Pat Becker May 11, 2018 Age 91 Survived by husband Jerry Becker, sons Thomas Becker & Patrick Becker and their wives, daughter Jackie Moran & her husband Bob, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild; predeceased by 1 grandson. Page 10 Mrs. Sharon Sherry Chiera May 16, 2018 Age 74 Survived by daughter Kellee Kraft & her husband Joe, son Wil Chiera, and 5 grandchildren Phil & Kathy Dowdy I m excited about having Apostle Phil Dowdy from Forerunner Ministries speak at our June 13 th Power Surge. Recently Forerunner Ministries hosted a prophecy conference with Isabel Allum. Many of our Power Surge friends attended the conference and received powerful prophetic words. Margaret and I received a very encouraging word. From time to time, Phil and I text or talk. He has been following what the Lord has been doing through Power Surge and Ingleside. He is excited about traveling up with their worship team and ministering at our next Power Surge. Phil & Kathy carry a Father-heart anointing, helping many sons and daughters walk in all that the Lord has for them. Come and receive a blessing. We recommend bringing a recording device to capture prophetic words. Page 3

Ingleside International Leadership Development for the Persecuted Church By Peter & Margaret McLewin inglesideinternational@gmail.com IngleFest Planning Meeting Update from Nepal On several occasions we have had the privilege of hearing Pastor Philemon Chhetri speak at Ingleside. This week we received a report from the powerful ministry the Lord has given him across Nepal and in the northern Tea Gardens of India. I have had the privilege of ministering with him in both India and Nepal. Pastor Chhetri leads a network of over 130 churches, several Bible schools, training centers and Christian schools. Recently he spoke in western Nepal at the gathering of the Federation of National Christians. He broadcasts on national radio and TV every week. On Resurrection Sunday over 25,000 people gathered in downtown Nepal to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ being preached. Please pray for the power of Holy Spirit to be released across Nepal and for thousands of people to come to know Jesus as their Savior. Ingleside International Partners We invite you to become an Ingleside International Partner. A monthly gift of $18.00 throughout 2018 will help us extend our ministry around the world. Please make your check payable to Ingleside International, or scan the QR code to give through PayPal. Write to our email address for credit card giving. The gifts we receive empower us to say yes when God opens doors like these. At the end of Colossians Paul said, "Remember my chains." Please pray for our friends in the chains of persecution.
