She is now back at Grand River Hospital awaiting test results which will help to determine a course of treatment. Please call her husband, John, before visiting. Pray for answers as to how to proceed with treatment and also pray for patience and God s peace as Margaret and the family continue to walk this journey. Today we say farewell to Pamela V (14) who will be moving to British Columbia in the coming week. Pam has been part of this fellowship for many years and known by many through her 31 years of work at Woodland Christian High School. We wish you well as you move to the west and hope that you soon feel at home in your new community. Congratulations to Martin G (2) and Rose K who were united in marriage yesterday! This weekend the GEMS and Cadets have been or are still camping. The GEMS have been at Hidden Acres Mennonite Camp this past Friday and Saturday, and the Cadets are still camping at Wildwood Scouts Camp since Friday and coming home later today. We pray for safety, good memories and God s blessing on such opportunities. Congratulations those who were recently chosen to serve as pastoral elders: Gary B (8), Randy Z (14); as Administrative Elders:

Steve F and Kim T; and as Youth Elder: Greg S. Also Congratulations to those who were recently chosen to serve as Deacons: Jane V (2), Jeff F (9), and Tina O (13). We praise God for you and pray that as you take on your new roles in the life of CCRC that the Lord would bless you and grant you His strength to fulfill your respective offices. As new elders and deacons come on board we give thanks for those who have served over the last 2-3 years: Shannon C (8) and Larry L (14) both serving 2 years as Pastoral Elders, Adom P (13) Pastoral Elder; Jerry P and Ian B as Administrative Elders; and Elaine A as Youth Elder. We also give thanks for the years of service on the part of Craig H, Aaron D and Annette N who served as Deacons. We praise the Lord for your years of leadership and service! This morning we welcome Mrs. Betsy D who will be serving as a part-time pastoral intern for the duration of Pastor Amanda s maternity leave (June November). Betsy is a candidate for ministry in the CRCNA, having graduated from Calvin Seminary, and a PhD student at Emmanuel College of Victoria University at the University of Toronto (PhD in theology with an emphasis on homiletics). Currently, Betsy and her husband, Daniel, and two boys live in Drayton. Daniel D is serving as a co-pastor at the Drayton Reformed Church. Betsy s membership has been sent from Park CRC in Holland, Michigan. This morning she will be ordained as an elder at CCRC for a 6- month term. Welcome Betsy DeVries! Please continue to pray for: those who are shut-in and/or unable to worship with us on a regular basis because of various health issues; those dealing with depression and other forms of mental illness; those dealing with cancer, its treatment and effects: Olga S (11) who remains as a patient at St. Mary s until alternative housing can be arranged; those dealing with broken relationships; those who are unemployed or underemployed; Anthony and Barbara P with Daystar Ministries on Manitoulin Island; Hank and Rosario S volunteering with Resonate Global Mission in Guatemala the persecuted Church; the Ministries and the Leadership of our congregation STAFF NEWS The pastoral team is off on their annual retreat at Crieff Hills Retreat Center for the next 3 days (Monday Wednesday). Over the next 3 days the pastors will spend time setting personal goals as well as planning out the next season of ministry as per direction given by the Administrative Council and in line with the vision of CCRC. This year Pastor Betsy D will also be part of the retreat. Pastor John will be leaving Kitchener immediately following the pastoral retreat to attend the meetings of Synod in Grand Rapids where he will be serving as the pastoral delegate for Classis Huron. Synod is scheduled from June 7 through June 14 (see

note in denominational news). He will be returning to the office on June 19. Pastor Amanda and Brian (8) are looking forward to the birth of their son at the end of June. Because of this addition to the family, Pastor Amanda will be on maternity leave starting June 13 and returning from leave on November 5. Your prayers are much appreciated for a safe birth and a healthy baby boy to join the B-B family! Our bookkeeper, Diana W, will be on vacation starting Friday, June 8 and will be back in the office on Wednesday, June 20. Pastor John and Ashley (8) are happy to announce that they are expecting their first child in December 2018. Please pray for a safe pregnancy and delivery. Congratulations to the following members celebrating a birthday in the coming week: June 5 Sybil W (8) June 10 Barb V (11) May they experience God s richest blessings in the coming year and as they celebrate their birthday! Next Sunday, in the evening service, we will be joined by the Woodland High School Choir. The choir, under the direction of Mr. Jonathan H, will lead us in worship and in song. communities and show Christ s love to their neighbors. COMMUNITY CHURCH NEWS Library News: This morning we are excited to open our new mini-mobile library which is located in the multi-purpose room. The library will be open AFTER the morning service for a short time. There is a great selection of Adult and Children s fiction, DVD s, as well as some interesting reads on the non-fiction shelf. You are invited to come and check us out! We do appreciate and respect the fact that we are sharing this space with our seniors. So we ask that those coming to the library enter the multipurpose room using the door closest to the main entrance and that young children are accompanied by their parents. Thanks for your co-operation! Pre-Profession of Faith Workshop: June 13 or July 4: Missed out on Pastors' Class but still want to make profession of faith soon? Here's your chance! We're offering two opportunities for a pre-profession of faith workshop where we will unpack what profession of faith means and what to expect as you publicly profess your faith at CCRC. Sign up to attend one of the two dates: Wednesday, July 13 from 7-9 p.m. or Wednesday, July 4 from 7-9 p.m. Sign-up sheets are at the Info Desk or sign up by emailing the Church Office (office@ccrc.on.ca). The Deacons will be meeting this Tuesday, June 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the church. Please note that Community CRC will be a polling station on Thursday, June 7, and therefore the gym area will be off limits. Attention all Grade 12 Youth! The Youth elders would like to meet with you in the 4 Plex room near the end of the service on Sunday, June 10 to go over your plans for next year and take your suggestions for future plans and programs. Synod 2018 will convene Thursday, June 7, at 7:00 p.m. through Thursday, June 14, at 3:30 p.m., on the campus of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Synod will meet with the delegates to the Reformed Church in America General Synod in joint sessions, advisory committees, workshops, and times of worship.
