Emerging Leaders Program

How is God calling you to sharpen your leadership? Throughout history, whenever God was ready to begin a new work, he would tap a potential leader on the shoulder and give him or her a leadership assignment. In the Old Testament, he chose leaders like Moses, David, Nehemiah, and Esther. In the New Testament he chose people like Peter and Paul. In more recent times, when a community needed to be called back to its true heart and mission, God used leaders like Martin Luther, John Calvin and John Wesley to be the initial catalysts for change. Cath Tallack Program Director Scripture tells those of us who have the gift of leadership that we had better sit up and take notice. We had better, as Romans 12:8 says, lead with diligence. Because the mission of Christ will flourish or falter largely on the basis of how the Church is led. I am convinced that the church will never reach her full redemptive potential until men and women with leadership gifts step up and lead and that means continuous growth and learning, sharpening leadership, gifting, skill and capability. Vibrant, purposeful and grounded Christian leaders are needed to empower God s people for His mission in and through their lives. Through the Emerging Leaders Program, Arrow s purpose is to engage leaders in a transformative journey, to grow and stretch their character, call and capabilities, and to release them into a deeper fulfillment of the call of God on their lives.

The Program Who? God creates, He initiates, He innovates, He risks. He doesn t sit back and wait for things to happen - He makes things happen. Put simply, God leads, and you have been made in His image. The Arrow Leadership Emerging Leaders Program is for leaders aged between 25 and 40 who are committed to Christian discipleship and who have a deep desire for greater Christ-like leadership. What? The Arrow Leadership Emerging Leaders Program is designed for emerging Christian leaders who serve in churches, para-church organisations or missional movements. Its focus is engaging, stretching and releasing leaders to make an impact in their communities. How? The program is structured across four, five-day residential learning sets over a two year period. The Arrow experience took me by surprise. It was thoroughly Jesus centred and God honouring. I had high expectations, but nothing could have prepared me for what I now consider a life highlight. The opportunity to learn, network, share and partner with like-minded peers in the body of Christ was priceless. Arrow has significantly sharpened and up-skilled my leadership capacity and will continue to do so for many years to come. Rev Joel Small Baptist Church In between these sets, participants work with a coach to enhance their growth, and meet with a state based peer group and with the Arrow Leadership team to sharpen and apply their learning.

Arrow s Distinctives Participants from every state and territory of Australia. Participants from up to 12 denominations. Interaction with outstanding Christian, business, civic, and thought leaders. Strong emphasis on peer learning and accountability. Focus on the leader s character and spiritual formation. Four weeks of intentional community. Selection Participants are selected on the basis of an application process including interview and referee checks. The program is aimed at men and women who: Are between 25 and 40 years of age at the time of application. Are committed to Christian discipleship. Have demonstrated leadership capacity. Desire more Christ-like leadership. Want to increase their effectiveness. Are seeking to clarify their calling and vision. Are open to be challenged by facilitators, coaches, and peers. Accreditation Arrow Leadership partners with several educational providers to allow Arrow participants to complete either under graduate and post graduate studies. Application Applications are encouraged from Christian emerging leaders serving in leadership roles, in church, para-church or missional organisations. Please commence application process by visiting: arrowleadership.org.au/apply Please nominate others by visiting: arrowleadership.org.au/nominate Or contact our Recruitment Coordinator - Aash Parmer - aash@arrowleadership.org.au Over the past five years we have been blessed through sending many of our team to Arrow for leadership development. I have personally seen many young leaders, with great potential, complete the Arrow program and come away with Jason Elsmore greater confidence in the unique Senior Pastor, Gateway Baptist Church way that God has gifted them. They also have discovered a greater understanding of how to lead alongside a diverse team in order to make a greater impact in the Kingdom. The opportunity to network with other high capacity leaders and the outstanding leadership training that Arrow provides is used by God to develop leaders for greater impact and deeper spirituality. Hear from our participants The Arrow Leadership program has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, and the single greatest influence on my leadership journey so far. - Mark My experience of Arrow was life-changing. I hoped that I would learn some important lessons on leadership and improve my skills and knowledge. What really happened was that every moment of Arrow was a learning experience I couldn t help but grow. - Ben I m beyond thankful for how Arrow equipped me for leaps of faith and growth in my leadership and in my relationship with God. I ve grown in confidence, connected with other incredible leaders all around Australia, and have been given the space to learn and fly! - Jasmine
