Connect Church Welcome to Connect Church If you are visiting with us for the first time, WELCOME! We are glad it was your choice to worship Christ with us today. We hope this time of praise and the study of God s Word will be an encouragement for you. please join us between services for refreshments and fellowship. I love this church because since our very first visit, we ve felt a part of a family. There is always a warm welcome, soothing smile, a warm embrace, a connected heart, a helping hand, and an opportunity to be a better Christian. As a longtime partner of the Children s Ministry, I ve seen it first-hand...as our families grow, our children grow and flourish into a community that is getting bigger and better! What we do here at Connect Church works! I serve Jesus with you by volunteering in the Children s Ministry at the front desk and as a leader during VBS in the summertime. Adult Summer Bible Study In Biblical times, names communicated a person s essence - history, nature, or character. That s why God revealed Himself by dozens of different names in Scripture. No single name could convey the fullness of His character and works. Join us Wednesday evenings at 7 PM this summer for THE POWER OF GOD S NAMES.
Church Life Leadership Team, make plans to attend the Leadership Huddle this week. Pastor Dale will present a clear explanation of the systematic approach to spiritual transformation and growth through the ministries of Connect Church.

Church Life A Question to Ask God Is my life revolving around You? Open my eyes, Father. What am I holding on to that robbing me of present joy and future reward? What am I guarding and keeping for myself that s preventing me from having to depend whole heartedly on You? Since money and things have mass, and mass exerts gravity, and gravity holds us in orbit, what can I give away that will bring me greater freedom? Which of my assets can I give to You, so that You will be my center of gravity? Men, this season, don t keep the joy of the game to yourself, bring along a friend or two to CONNECT and watch the games together. The first NFL Sunday of the year is September 9th and the first college game is August 25th. Post pictures of your time together on Facebook or Twitter tagging it with @cctodayfl or #cctodayfall and let s see who is having the most fun! Cheering together, laughing together, serving together, it s all about CONNECTING with one another and with Jesus! No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. Luke 16:13 Ladies, it s time to end the summer with laughter, joy, and making new friends. Join us August 25th at 6:00 PM on the Royal Palm campus. Bring your favorite paradise dish to share as we enjoy a meal together. Don t forget to bring your Bible too for a tremendous time of studying God s Word. See you then!

God s Word - Time With God This Week s SOAP Scripture - Read the passage of Scripture for the day and allow God to speak to you. Write down a verse which spoke to you. Observation - Write your observation as to what is happening in the text. What do you believe is the point of the passage? Application - Write down how the passage applies to your life today. Prayer - Ask God to help you use this Scripture for greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Now, write it out. Disciplined - Main Passage for August 26th - 2 Samuel 24:10-25 CSB Monday - 2 Samuel 24:10-13 Tuesday - 2 Samuel 24:14-16 Wednesday - 2 Samuel 24:17 Thursday - Exodus 32:11-14 Friday - 2 Samuel 24:18-23 Saturday - 2 Samuel 24:24-25 Memory Verse: 2 Samuel 24:24 The king answered Araunah, No, I insist on buying it from you for a price, for I will not offer to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing. David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for twenty ounces of silver. Today s SOAP - Pastor Sam Jay Scripture: 2 Samuel 22:31 God - his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in him. Observation: David rejoices in this Psalm because God has saved him from being murdered by King Saul and all of his other enemies. This is a Psalm of thanksgiving to the Lord for the protection God provided to David. Application: God is my perfect shield. When my life is under attack, I have the perfect refuge to run to. When my enemies surround me, there is no greater protector than my God. My God is bigger than any enemy I will ever face. The strength of my enemies pales in comparison to the strength of my God. I can trust God in the most difficult of times to be my protector. Prayer: Lord, thank you for being my protector. You are my rescue, my strength, and my salvation. Your perfect shield allows me to live my life in peace. Your are worthy of praise, glory, and honor for all eternity! In Jesus name, amen.
God s Word - Devoted to Him HIS WISE, LOVING, SOVEREIGN PLAN He does according to his will and none can stay his hand. Daniel 4:35 God does as He pleases, only as He pleases; He works out every event to bring about the accomplishment of His will. Such a bare unqualified statement of the sovereignty of God would terrify us if that were all we knew about God. But God is not only sovereign, He is perfect in love and infinite in wisdom. God exercises His sovereignty for His glory and the good of His people. But how is this any more than merely an abstract statement about God to be debated by the theologians, a statement that has little relevance to our day-to-day lives? The answer is that God does have a purpose and a plan for you, and He has the power to carry out that plan. It s one thing to know that no person or circumstance can touch us outside of God s sovereign control; it s still another to realize that no person or circumstances can frustrate God s purpose for our lives. God has an overarching purpose for all believers: to conform us to the likeness of His Son (see Romans 8:29). He also has a specific purpose for each of us that is His unique, tailor-made plan for our individual life (see Ephesians 2:10). And God will fulfill that purpose. As Psalm 138:8 says, The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me. Because we know God is directing our lives to an ultimate end and because we know He is sovereignly able to orchestrate the events of our lives toward that end, we can trust Him. We can commit to Him not only the ultimate outcome of our lives, but also all the intermediate events and circumstances that will bring us to that outcome. From In Trusting God Sin is the second most powerful force Genesis 1:31 Psalm 19:1 Romans 3:23 Romans 6:23A Romans 1:25 Proverbs 14:12 in the universe, for it sent Jesus to the cross. Thankful Scripture 26 With the faithful you prove yourself faithful, with the blameless you prove yourself blameless, 27 with the pure you prove yourself pure; but with the crooked you prove yourself shrewd. 28 You rescue an oppressed people, but your eyes are set against the proud - you humble them. 29 Lord, you are my lamp; the Lord illuminates my darkness. 30 With you I can attack a barricade, and with my God I can leap over a wall. 31 God his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in him. 32 For who is God besides the Lord? And who is a rock? Only our God. 33 God is my strong refuge; he makes my way perfect. 34 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer and sets me securely on the heights. 35 He trains my hands for war; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. 36 You have given me the shield of your salvation; your help exalts me. 50 Therefore I will give thanks to you among the nations, Lord; I will sing praises about your name. 51 He is a tower of salvation for his king; he shows loyalty to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever. 2 Samuel 22:26-36, 50-51 CSB Main Point God is worthy of our praise and thanksgiving for His provisions in this life. *Notes adapted from Explore the Bible, LifeWay Christian Resources.
