SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINAY TIME JANUARY 17, 2016 For Consecrated Families I prayed for you at the place where St. Maximilian Kolbe began Consecration to the Immaculate Virgin. I ask that you continue your daily consecration prayer with your families. O Immaculata, Queen and Mother of the Church, I renew my consecration to you this day and for always so that you may use me for the coming of the Kingdom of Jesus in the whole world. To this end, I offer you all my prayers, actions and sacrifices of this day. Quote of St. Maximilian Kolbe "When we encounter difficulties which are not in a state to overcome, or temptations are assailing us, let us not lose heart, children, always turn into her with fullest confidence, and she a and needed light, and the desired strength, and in her heart we will be relieved of all the bitterness." Divine Mercy St. Faustina Have you ever wondered what Jesus desires for us. The Message of St. Faustina gives us a glimpse of the desire of Jesus for us. Please invite friends, family, co-workers even strangers to the St. Faustina Play so they can hear this remarkable message. Here is a quote from her Diary: "My Heart overflows with great mercy for souls, and especially for poor sinners. If only they could understand that I am the best of Fathers to them and that it is for them that the Blood and Water flowed from My Heart as from a fount overflowing with mercy. For them I dwell in the tabernacle as King of Mercy. I desire to bestow My graces upon souls, but they do not want to accept them. You, at least, come to Me as often as possible and take these graces they do not want to accept. In this way you will console My Heart. Oh, how indifferent are souls to so much goodness, to so many proofs of love! My Heart drinks only of the ingratitude and forgetfulness of souls living in the world. They have time for everything, but they have no time to come to Me for graces. (367)" Gospel for Third Sunday in Ordinary Time (January 24th) Luke 1:1-4; 4:14-21 Since many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the events that have been fulfilled among us, just as those who were eyewitnesses from the beginning and ministers of the word have handed them down to us, I too have decided, after investigating everything accurately anew, to write it down in an orderly sequence for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may realize the certainty of the teachings you have received. Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news of him spread throughout the whole region. He taught in their synagogues and was praised by all. He came to Nazareth, where he had grown up, and went according to his custom into the synagogue on the sabbath day. He stood up to read and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord. Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him. He said to them, Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing. 1
