The Lord, My God, Be Praised...LSB 794 The Lord, my God, be praised, My light, my life from heaven; My maker, who to me Has soul and body given; My Father, who will shield And keep me day by day And make each moment yield New blessings on my way. The Lord, my God, be praised, My trust, my life from heaven, The Father s own dear Son, Whose life for me was given, Who for my sin atoned With His most precious blood And gives to me by faith The highest heav nly good. The Lord, my God, be praised, My hope, my life from heaven, The Spirit, whom the Son In love to me has given. His grace revives my heart And gives my spirit pow r, Help, comfort, and support In sorrow s gloomy hour. The Lord, my God, be praised, My God, the ever-living, To whom the heav nly host Their laud and praise are giving. The Lord, my God, be praised, In whose great name I boast, God Father, God the Son, And God the Holy Ghost. Public domain INVOCATION P In the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit. C Amen. CONFESSION P If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. C But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. P Let us then confess our sins to God our Father. C Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.

ABSOLUTION P Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit. C Amen. HYMN OF PRAISE.... Hail the Cross that Brings Salvation... Ron Thomsen HaiI the cross that brings salvation, Showing us God s great heav nly light Offer praise and adoration For the end of sin s dark night. See this sign above us shimmer, Shedding forth its glorious beams; There reflecting faith s clear glimmer, Tow ring over man s vain schemes. See the Savior, our Lord Jesus, Let us now His story tell; Knew no sin, was made sin for us, Saving us from death and hell; Through His pain and bitter torment, We are made God s righteousness, Since for us Christ made atonement; Let us now this truth confess. Now the love of Christ compels us, Since in one Man all have died; Died for all, our Lord Christ Jesus, Let us in His love abide. Let us not for self be living But to Him who saves from sin; Let us all to Him be giving, He who died and rose again. Worthy is the Lamb forever, Jesus Christ who once was slain; Let His praise be silenced never, Ris n victorious e er to reign. Blessing, honor, power, glory Be to God and to the Lamb, Join with angels, sing this story, Praising God, the great I AM. Text Ron Thomsen Copyright 2016 SALUTATION P The Lord be with you. C And also with you. COLLECT OF THE DAY P O Lord, let Your merciful ears be open to the prayers of Your humble servants and grant that what they ask may be in accord with Your gracious will; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. C Amen. EPISTLE READING.................................................. Ephesians 6:10-20 R The Epistle Reading is from the 6 th Chapter of Ephesians. R 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given

by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. R This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God. PSALM.............................Psalm 119:129-136 R Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them. C The unfolding of Your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple. R I open my mouth and pant, because I long for Your commandments. C Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is Your way with those who love Your name. R Keep steady my steps according to Your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me. C Redeem me from man s oppression, that I may keep Your precepts. R Make Your face shine upon Your servant, and teach me Your statutes. C My eyes shed streams of tears, because people do not keep Your law. C Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen. ALLELUIA AND VERSE....................................................... LSB 156 C Alleluia. Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Alleluia, alleluia. HOLY GOSPEL......................................................... Mark 7:14-23 P The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark, the 7 th Chapter. C Glory to You, O Lord. P 14 And [Jesus] called the people to Him again and said to them, Hear Me, all of you, and understand: 15 There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him. 17 And when He had entered the house and left the people, His disciples asked Him about the parable. 18 And He said to them, Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, 19 since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled? (Thus He declared all foods clean.) 20 And He said, What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person. P This is the Gospel of the Lord. C Praise to You, O Christ.

CONFESSION OF FAITH................................................ Apostles Creed C I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life T everlasting. Amen. CHILDREN S MESSAGE....................Matt Meier & Michael Winckler MESSAGE........................... Set Apart.... Pastor Michael P. Dorn MESSAGE RESPONSE.... Jesus, Lead Thou On....
