CELEBRATION OF GIVING LITANY MINISTER: It is now time for us to share in giving. Why do we give? CONGREGATION: We give because all we have comes from God. According to Deuteronomy 8:18, it is God who gives us the power to get wealth. MINISTER: Why do we give? CONGREGATION: We give because God commands us. Malachi 3:10 states that we are to bring the full tithe into God s storehouse. MINISTER: Why do we give? CONGREGATION: We give because God said in Luke 6:38, to give and He would give back to us a more abundant blessing. MINISTER: Why do we give? CONGREGATION: We give because 2 Corinthians 9:7 states that God loves a cheerful giver. ALL: Thank you Lord, for the privilege of giving. We are excited about paying the tithe and giving the offering. We know that you are faithful to your promises. Therefore, we trust you in faith to do what you have said. AMEN!

We thank you for your support in the past and hope that you can assist again this fall. We are in need of a few teachers and assistants so, please come and be a part of the teaching team. We also need YOU to encourage our youth to attend Wednesday Night Bible Study. This year, we look forward to an increase in the number of youth that we can serve on Wednesday evenings by teaching them God s Word. You can assist in this effort by (1) bringing a child or young person with you on Wednesday evenings, (2) encouraging parents and guardians to bring their child(ren) to bible study on Wednesday evenings, and/or (3) spreading the word about our Wednesday Night Bible Study. Fellowship dinner begins at 6 p.m., followed by bible study at 7 p.m. After bible study, we encourage you to stay for Prayer and Praise Service in the sanctuary beginning at 8 p.m. Please contact Deacon Tirone Veasley (tveasley@verizon.net) if you have questions. Answers to your most frequently asked questions about the World Mission Offering (CONTINUED) WHAT IS MINISTRY SUPPORT AND EDUCATION? This refers to the cost of providing financial accountability and maintaining up-to-date and transparent communications. It includes expenses associated with IM s website, training conferences, donor support, brochures, the Guide to Global Servants, WMO materials, emails, management of ministry project funds, and more. WHAT IS ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT? This is the part of IM s budget that keeps all operations running, by providing staff to serve global servants, IRS compliance measures, and offices for the home staff. Each year, IM raises approximately $1.3 million in WMO funds, which, together with individual gifts, investment income, legacy gifts and ongoing development and fundraising, keeps the work of IM s global servants and partners and other ministries moving forward. We are grateful for your part and thankful for every gift that has allowed IM global servants to serve over 200 years in global mission. Sunday, October 21, 2018 Dear Mt. Calvary Family: We will be hosting the fourth, 3 rd Sunday Fellowship Dinner for 2018, which will take place after the 10:00 a.m. service on October 21st. A special thank you to members who participated in the preparation, clean up, purchases and donations for our March fellowship. The Culinary Ministry will lead this effort, but we are asking others to assist. The cost of the dinner this month will be $12 for meatloaf (beef or turkey). The primary purpose of the fellowship dinners is to allow members to relax after church service and fellowship with each other. All proceeds in excess of the cost of the meals will be donated to the church s building fund. To assist with planning and preparations, advance purchases for October can be made on September 30, October 7 and 14, 2018, outside of the Leon Grant Family Life Center, before and after the morning service. This will help us estimate the number of dinners to prepare. We are hoping that most individuals will purchase meals in advance. We welcome individuals to sit and fellowship with each other, but if you cannot, dinners to go will be available. Tribes may want to consider coming together at this time and having a Tribe Fellowship Dinner in the Leon Grant Family Life Center. The October 21, 2018 meal will consist of meatloaf (beef or turkey), mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetables, roll, dessert and beverage (bottled water or soda). For additional information or to volunteer, please contact Shirley Johnson at 301-946-5486 or Brenda Shelton at 301-680-7920. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORDER FORM PLEASE PRINT Name Phone Number # of Dinners Meal Cost $12 each Beef Meatloaf Turkey Meatloaf Amount Due Special Instructions: Date Received: Amount Due: Amount Paid: Received By:
