Rector s Message November 1, 2015 We have had many weeks of drought and recently there was hurricane Patricia, which moved from a category 2 to 5 within twenty-four hours, off the coast of Mexico. This sharp movement in climatic condition and weather pattern has been attributed to decades of pollution (including car and chimney emissions) and the destruction of tree and vegetation of our habitat and home, the planet earth. Have we planted trees and flowers to replace what we have cut down or have we erected structures with concrete and steel which have a debilitating effect on the eco-system? Also, how have we disposed of waste, garbage such as batteries for cars, plastic bottles, computer monitors and parts, scandal bags and foam boxes? The throwing of some of these items especially scandal bags, plastic bottles and containers into our gullies, streams, vacant spaces, sidewalk, seaside and rivers will contaminate and block the drainage system. In this way we poison nature which is the evergreen of our future lives. Stewardship is the care and management of resources on behalf of someone to whom we are accountable. We are called to be stewards as human beings created by God and given primacy to care for nature and animals that are given to us by a loving, nurturing and generous God. All living things created by God from the dust of the ground were given to Adam for him to name. (Gen. 2:19) This is a covenant relationship of dominion, not domination, in which we are designated, as stewards of creation who are called, to care, nurture and protect creation and the environment and for its management for which we are accountable to the creator. As a community of baptized disciples of Jesus, we are called to work towards the renewal of creation. This renewal comes through interventions and actions that will reduce the use of non biodegradable materials, planting of more flowers and trees and the protection of our watershed areas, as our response to the groaning of creation (Romans 8:22-23). All creatures upon whom the sun shines and the rain falls constitutes inhabitants of this our mutual home, earth. Thus we are interdependent and are required to promote its health and protect the environment for our mutual wellbeing and ecological harmony. Today we commemorate the saints and martyrs of the Church who are celebrated as models of Christian Faith, godly living and self-sacrifice. We pray that God may give us grace to follow his saints in faith, hope and love. We extend a warm welcome to all visitors worshipping with us today, especially National Youth Service and Kiwanis of North West St. Andrew. Sirrano+ 2.

Proper 26 23rd Sunday of Pentecost November 1, 2015 Stewardship of Creation and the Environment To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and to sustain and renew the life of the earth: manifested by specific actions, influenced and inspired by the theology of creation, establish programmes of conscientiousness raising education and public action, in Church, in schools, in the wider community, in collaboration whenever possible with Government agencies, civil society and community groups, and other NGOs in the wider community. As we are gathered As we are gathered, Jesus is here: One with each other, Jesus is here; Joined by the Spirit, built up in love Part of the body, the Church of God. As we are gathered Jesus is here; One with each other Jesus is here. Open our eyes, Lord Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus to reach out and touch Him and say that we love Him. Open our ears, Lord. help us to listen; O open our eyes Lord, we want to see Jesus! Recessional: O when the Saints go Marching In O when the saints go marching in, O when the saints go marching in; O Lord, I want to be in the number When the saints go marching in! 2. O when they crown Him Lord of all, O when they crown Him Lord of all; O Lord, I want to be in the number When they crown Him Lord of all. 3. O when all knees bow at His name, O when all knees bow at His name, O Lord, I want to be among the number When all knees bow at His name. 4. O when they sing the Saviour's praise, O when they sing the Saviour's praise, O Lord, I want to be among the number When they sing the Saviour's praise. 5. O when the saints go marching in, O when the saints go marching in; O Lord, I want to be among the number When the saints go marching in! 3.

We pray for our clergy, for John Archbishop, Howard Diocesan Bishop, Robert and Leon Suffragans, Sirrano, Olando, Andrea and all church workers. Holy God, Leader: Lord of the Nations, we pray for the leaders of the world and for the leaders of Jamaica. We pray for Patrick, Governor General, Portia, Prime Minister, Andrew, leader of the Parliamentary Opposition, all members of the House of Representatives. troubled may know your peace, that the fearful may know your love, that the distressed may know your presence. Lord, may all who are in need know that you protect them and enfold them in your love. Holy God, Leader: We pray that the despairing and discouraged may find hope, that the downtrodden may rise to new freedoms, that the down cast may be lifted up, that the weak, the ill, the suffering especially.may be given hope, courage and strength, Holy God, Leader: We rejoice in the fellowship of all your saints, with all the faithful departed, and commend to you our friends and love ones who have departed from us. We remember especially... Holy God, Silence may be kept All: Holy Lord, take us and make us Holy, make us yours and make us obedient, make us faithful, make us joyful and make us to be numbered with your saints, in that glory which is everlasting: Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit one God for ever. Amen. SICK & SHUT- IN Julian Nosorthy Gloria Moodie Rashaad Campbell Carol Lawla Fay Jenkinson Rebecca Collins Millicent Williams Cynthia Bonner Did You know? From the 8th century, churches of the British Isles have been celebrating All Saints Day on November 1, because it was influenced by the traditional Celtic Festival for the dead (called Samhain), which was celebrated on this day. 5.
