FAITH at WORK Faith Lutheran Church December 2015 Greetings, Sisters and Brothers in Christ Jesus, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Well, it is a new year in the life of the church. On Sunday, November 29 th we celebrate our New Year with the First Sunday of the season of Advent. For four weeks we will focus on preparing the way for the Christ child to be born again in our hearts. Even though we know Jesus has been with us for over 2,000 years, it is good to be reminded of his life story, particularly his life among us. Come and join others beginning Wednesday, December 2 nd at 6:45 pm as we worship our Lord with the Holden Evening Prayer service. A quiet time of reflection, song, and prayer. Then, come on Christmas Eve at 7:00 pm and/or 10:00 pm as we receive Christ the King again as he lies in a manger. For now, we ponder anew what the Almighty has done and can do. Awesome! (Continued on page 2) Remember that one of his names is Emmanuel, which means God is with us. -Pastor Dawn Faith Lutheran Church 930 Queen Ave SW, Albany OR 97321 email: faithalbany@proaxis.com website: www.faithalbany.org Pastor Dawn Gregg 541-928-7660 or 541-928-1049 In This Issue Church Announcements and Events Community Announcements and Events Calendars Prayer needs
(Continued from page 1) FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH 2015 It s a busy time for all of us, this Christmas season, and we can be overwhelmed with all the planning and goingson that are involved. This is a stressful time in relationships as we might have to struggle with family issues can crop up at this time. Remember to take some time to stop and breathe and rest. And, let the Spirit of the living Christ flow into and through you and bring you peace, if just for a moment or two now and then. And, remember the Reason for the Season, for he is with you every single moment. Remember that one of his names is Emmanuel, which means God is with us. That s awesome, too! O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. May your Christmas season be blessed with joy and laughter and thanksgiving, even in the midst of the strife in our lives and in our world. May all of us continue to believe and live in the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ; the love of God, and the communion of saints. For this is the source of the hope we have for ourselves and for the world. Pastor STAFF Office Manager Carolyn D. Organist/Pianist Cheryl B. Custodian Terry B. CHURCH COUNCIL President Claus S.
