THE LOCATION Bhagwans Homestay is situated in a prime residential area of Basundhara, northern part of Kathmandu and just a 20 minutes (5km) drive from the Tribhuvan International Airport. The must visit places in Kathmandu like Swoyambhunath temple (also known as monkey s temple among tourists), Pasupatinath temple, Boudha Stupa and Thamel are just 20 minutes drive from Bhagwan's homestay. Within a 7 minutes walk you will reach the main street with an easy access to public transport as well as taxis that can bring you to your desired destination. Bhagwan's homestay is away from the main traffic so you can enjoy a quiet & familiar atmosphere and have a rest from the bustling city life. However, this is a good starting point for exploring Kathmandu and all its places of interest as you can reach the Ringroad in about 7 minutes walk. You will be part of Bhagwan's family and have the chance to experience the Nepali lifestyle and get insights about the local people, interesting spots in the surrounding area as well as support in organizing Trekking Tours and other cultural activities. THE HOST FAMILY Your host family consists of six members. Bhagwan (38) & his wife Pragya (27), Bhagwan's mother "Aama" (62), Anju (helping hand in the family), Nishan (17) & Hemant (11). Pragya Bhagwan Aama Bhagwan Karki is the youngest son in the family and leading Karmalaya Projects in Nepal which is a Social Travel Business/Voluntourism company. Moreover he organizes Trekking tours and worked as a tour guide over the last decade. Pragya Neupane is married to Bhagwan. She did her Bachelor's degree in Social Work and helps her husband to run the business. Aama is the mother of Bhagwan and also lives and helps within the family.

ROOM AND BOARD We have two Homestays in Kathmandu which are within 5 minutes of walking distance. Furthermore there are also Homestays of the family in Chitwan National Park (Sauraha) & Pokhara (for further information just ask). Homestay1 comprises: 3x Twin bedrooms, 1x Single room, 1xTriple room Homestay2 comprises: 2x Twin bedrooms and 2x Single rooms Food: we serve food sometimes as per guest's requested time. Feel free and comfortable to talk to your host family. If you wish to eat outside or intend to come back late, please inform your host family in time. Breakfast includes: Pancakes, Bread, Müsli, Jam, Honey, Chocolate cream, Peanut butter, Fruits, Tea and Coffee as per wishes. Lunch: served from 12pm to 1pm (Nepali Meal and sometimes we change the dishes) Dinner: 6:30 to 7:30pm (Dal bhat, Mo Mo, Chowmein, Noodles, Roti, Pasta, Macaroni) Cost per night: 15$ (full board) 12$ (half board) Long-term prices: on request (special rate)
OPTIONAL SERVICES We also organize an orientation class for travelers/volunteers/interns which makes it easy to communicate to people and helps understanding the basic things in Nepal. The orientations class takes 3 days and follows this schedule: Day 01: Arrival and check-in. Optional: visit of the local market. Evening: Welcome Dinner and Information about Orientation program. Day 02: Breakfast. From 9:30 to 11:30am: Basic Nepali language class, Culture, Do's and Dont's. After lunch time we will start our Sightseeing tour: Monkey Tempel, Swayambhunath (world heritage site), Old City and Thamel (Tourist Market). Day 03: Same schedule. After lunch we go to the Biggest Hindu Temple and Cremation-Pashupatinath Tempel and Boudhanath called Small Tibet. Both places are sacred places and very famous all over the world, as well as a world heritage site. Day 04: Breakfast & free time during the day or visit of social project.
