As you walk by the United Way, pray for believers that work their might be a light shining brightly. Pray for the Salvation Army, Homeless Shelter, YMCA and others that get some of their funding from the United Way to be lights for Him. Pray that the Body of Christ might re-capture a bigger and deeper vision for meeting the needs of the poor and disenfranchised.

Pray that God would continue to use First Baptist Church in our cities life and would be a model for other churches to impact the world around them. Pray also for all the Churches of Charlotte, the God would encourage and anoint a fresh pastors and church leaders in the calling and that congregations would experience vibrant life. You will continue to walk up Davidson, past the Government Center. Pray for our mayor, city and county officials, and government issues. Pray that officials might seek God in their decisions. Pray that God would raise up future leaders who know both God, God s role for government, and how to govern well. Cross 4 th Street and walk another block. You will pass the Old City Hall building where you can pray for our courts. For truth and justice to rein in our city. For judges and juries to have godly wisdom and earnestly seek the truth. For justice be provided. The Police Station can be seen on the opposite side of the intersection. Pray for our police leadership, the police that are trying to protect and serve us on the streets, and for criminals to be apprehended. Pray for the police and their families as this line of work as some unique stresses and strains. Pray for righteous to be manifest in our police force. You then pass the Bobcats Arena. (on the right) Pray for this venue to be a place that God will touch lives. That some people will feel the emptiness of a life without Christ. That others will be inspired by a performance or event to give their life more fully to Him. That entertainment there might glorify the creator and not denigrate people who are made in the image of God. That all talent would be seen as a gift from Him. You will also pass the Transportation Center, (on your left). Pray for protection and blessing of those that use public transportation and for safety at the center. Imagine all the neighborhoods from whence these riders come and pray that God would bring His Kingdom to those neighborhoods. Pray for the financial needs that their families may face and for God s provision for their lives. TORN DOWN You will then go past a spot under construction (the Old Convention Center stood there) on your left. Pray for the future use of this land to bless the city. Pray that the commerce and shops there would be places where people feel the presence of God. The Prominent City Towers begin to come into closer view, pray that God would come into our city and allow His Kingdom work to be advanced. Pray for those professionals that walk this very sidewalk on their way in to work each day. Pray that even as they walk this sidewalk tomorrow you might speak to the deep needs of their hearts. Pray that every believer that walks this sidewalk would: Work with excellence Be mindful of their calling to their place of work Be men and women of integrity Have favor in the eyes of those who supervise them like Daniel and Joseph TURN RIGHT on College Street.

Performing Arts as you walk by the back side of the performing arts center, pray for God to bring renewal and awakening to the acting and artist community. Pray for believers that work in these fields to be winsome spokesperson for Him. Pray that art might inspire and point us toward the creator not away from them. Hotel and Entertainment pray for this industry that is a vital part of our city. That the spirit of God would come to those who are traveling and are feeling a deep need for answers in their life. TURN LEFT on 6th street, and passing the Library, pray that people would pursue knowledge and truth. Pray against false knowledge that presents itself as right and accurate but in the end is someone s vain imagining. Let a new wave of intellectual and scientific learning spring forth that reveals new levels of truth and show forth God s design. Pray for our public education of children. Pray that children would not be exposed to pornography via the internet or other library sources. At Tryon Street, you will see Discovery Place Museum across the street on the far right corner. Pray for this museum to be a place for children to create and explore God s unique creativity. Help visitors to have that sense of God when they visit this place. TURN LEFT onto Tryon Street, and begin walking down the main business corridor. Pray the prayers for workplace believers you prayed earlier and pray for companies as well. Pray they: Provide a useful and beneficial product or service Pay a fair wage Provide healthy ideas and influence on the city culture Value people more than profit Fulfill the unique calling of the organization Stop at the Center of the City (Trade & Tryon). The four statues of commerce surround the square. Pray that the foundations of the city might be restored as you stand at this key center point. As you see the waterfall on the far side of the square, pray that God s Spirit would come down in our city and bring revival and His presence. (if you have time cross over to the waterfall and pray there). "You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness grow with it; I, the LORD, have created it. Isaiah 45:8 (NIV)
