Please Print Name God and Church Daily Bible Reading Plan Your assignment is to read the entire book of Matthew. Read one chapter every day. You should finish in one month. Use this plan to keep a record of what you read. Check off each chapter as you read it. On the blank lines, write any comments you had on the scripture you read. Then take the time to reflect on the question for that chapter. Chapter 1 Consider how difficult it would be for Joseph to take Mary as his wife. Pray for your future spouse that she be strong in the Lord. Chapter 2 The Magi followed the star to worship the Christ child. What do you tend to follow? Why? Chapter 3 Picture in your mind the baptism of Jesus. What is most awesome to You? Chapter 4 Jesus faced temptations just like you do. Name your temptations, and ask God for the strength to resist them.

Chapter 5 What verses give you encouragement? What verses challenge you? Chapter 6 This chapter ends with a section about Do Not Worry. What are your worries? What adds stress to your life? How does the Bible help you in these areas? Chapter 7 What is God saying to you in these passages? What specific verses have meaning for your life today? Chapter 8 In your opinion, which miracle demonstrates most effectively the awesome power of Jesus? Explain. Chapter 9 The Pharisees looked down on Jesus for associating with Matthew and other sinners. When have you acted like Jesus? When have you acted like Pharisees?

Chapter 10 Jesus instructs his disciples as he sends them out. What instructions do you fine most difficult? What does Jesus say that is most comforting to you? Chapter 11 Why do you think Jesus said that there is no one greater than John the Baptist? What did he do? Chapter 12 Jesus was accused of breaking the Sabbath. How well do you observe the Sabbath? What does it mean that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath? Chapter 13 In the parable of the sower, what kind of soil do you tend to be? Chapter 14 King Herod had to keep his oath, and so he ordered for John the Baptist to be beheaded. When have you compromised what was right in order to protect your own reputation?

Chapter 15 Jesus talks about clean and unclean. What challenges do you face as a teenager in living a clean life? How do you honor God by living a clean life? Chapter 16 Peter is called the rock and then a stumbling block. Compare yourself to Peter. When you have confessed Christ with rocklike faith? When you have been a stumbling block for others? Chapter 17 What does it mean to you to have faith as small as a mustard seed? Chapter 18 Name someone you know that is forgiving like the king in the parable of the unmerciful servant. Name someone you know that is unforgiving like the unmerciful servant. Chapter 19 Why did Jesus say it was so difficult for rich people to enter heaven? What riches would you have difficulty with?

Chapter 20 The last will be first, and the first will be last. What does this mean to you? Chapter 21 In the parable of the two sons, who do you tend to be like? Chapter 22 How do you try to observe the Great Commandment in your daily living? Chapter 23 Consider the image of Jesus as a mother hen gathering her chicks. What do you like or dislike about this image? Chapter 24 Jesus says that heaven and earth will pass away, but his words will never pass away. How are words permanent? How can you grow in God s Word?

Chapter 25 How does the parable of the talents challenge you personally? What talent or gift can you better develop? Chapter 26 When have you acted like Peter and denied knowing Christ? Afterwards did you react in the same way Peter did? Chapter 27 Consider how Jesus was treated by the crowd, the soldiers, and those who passed by. Jesus willingly died for each of them. Reflect on God s mercy and grace. Chapter 28 Jesus death and resurrection is the foundation of our Christian faith. Read the resurrection story as told by Mark, Luke, and John. By my signature below, I certify that I have fully completed this Project. NAME
