He was always cheerful and kind, people enjoyed being around him and his smile would light up a room. Loved by many, his positive impact will leave many cherished memories. Shared by Candy, I will miss him so much. His battle with cancer is over. No more pain and suffering. Thankful for the blessed hope when we will see him again when Jesus calls us home. Cards of encouragement and support are welcome and appreciated: 31621 N Cedar Rd, Deer Park, WA 99006. Please remember the family in your prayers. Pastor Our of Office: Pastor Volody will be out of the office March 16th to the 31st. He will be traveling with UCA to India and put on an evangelistic series while over there. Please keep him and your families in your prayers while he is away. Linwood Hat Day! Next Sabbath, March 22, everyone was invited to participate in welcoming Spring by wearing a hat to church! Since this is the first Spring Sabbath of 2013 we wanted to make it a fun occasion. Special Testimonial: March 22nd for the Mission Spotlight, Pastor Gregory will be giving his testimonial on how he found his way to do the lords work. If you would love to hear this enticing story please plan to be here early next Sabbath! Table Fund: In order to seat everyone for our all church fellowship meals, we need additional tables and tablecloths. If you are willing to help with this project, please put your donation in a tithe envelope and mark it Table Fund. Thanks for your help. Thank you note: Special thanks to those who were involved in remodeling and renovation in Primary Sabbath School room. We appreciate great team effort of those who are helping and serving the little ones: Ester Smith, Lori Hermanson, Elaine Varga, Joyce and Ron Woods. Prayer Requests: If you have a prayer request, you are welcome to fill out a Green Card and put in offering. Nesteruk Family Rosemarry Flemming Moseanko Family Grinwis/Baldwin Family Ruth Bower Minden Family Dear Church Family: Words cannot express our appreciation for the continuous out pouring of love, concern and most of all for all the prayers from our Church family during my hospitalization and beginning of my recovery. Jan and I have no doubt that the fervent prayers of all of you and God s mercy were crucial in a very serious time of need. As we review the events of the past three weeks, we are amazed at how God was leading and ever present in providing quality medical attention at very critical times. Now, he has provided us with peace, content and hope for whatever may lie ahead. May God be glorified as he leads us through the trials and tribulations of this world with the promise of eternal life. Thank you so very much for your loving, kind thoughts, your acts of kindness, many visits, emails, cards of encouragement, flowers and the delicious wholesome prepared meals. I am most grateful to my sweet homemade bread ladies!! We love you all very much and may God bless our Church family! ~Dick & Jan Moseanko We Will Miss You: On February 26 George Chanki went to sleep in Christ after a battle with cancer. George attended Linwood for many years and recently publicly declared his love for the Lord in a Profession of Faith. Many will remember worshipping with him at church and fellowshipping with him during Linwood events. Husband to Lorna Baldwin, father to Lorinda Grinwis, grandfather, and great grandfather, his positive impact will be treasured by family and friends. Cards are encouraged and welcome to express love and support: 6014 N Maple St, Spokane, WA 99205. A Memorial Service will be held April 12 at 2:30 PM at Linwood Church. Personal Ministries: Would you like to make a difference in this ministry by: Praying for our church family daily? Making sure every Linwood Church member has a friend? Reaching out to visitors and potential new members? Helping our church family become even more friendly by building up the body of Christ? If you have a desire in your heart to be a part of this ministry in reaching out and connecting members, please contact the church office. You can also let us know online Linwood s website: Connect/Ministries/Caring Hearts Network/Personal Ministries. Thank you for your support. Help the Linwood Light Bearer Pathfinders: They are raising money to join 36,000+ Pathfinders from over 60 countries for the largest six-day Adventist Youth Event in the world to take place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin August 11 16, 2014. There are several ways to make this a reality for our club: Linwood Directory: For anyone who would like a printed directory, they are available for a suggested $5 donation to go towards the Pathfinders Oshkosh fund (can be put in the blue container in the back or in a tithe envelope noted as Directory and placed in the offering). Although the paracord bracelet is made to hold securely on your wrist while you are wearing it, it can be unraveled and the paracord can help you in a number of the afore-mentioned scenarios. Even if not used for emergency/survival purposes, paracord bracelets are not simply a fashion statement-- Paracord bracelets are a symbol of supporting our military and first responders! Quality Books - $8 - $10: Perfect gifts for anyone! Get one for yourself or for someone else for your reading enjoyment while supporting the Pathfinders! Mason Jar Cookies: A gift in a jar! See s Candy Bars - $2/each: Even if you aren t a chocoholic, these candy bars hit the right spot AND, of course, you support the Pathfinders! (PSST a se- cret There is a limited supply hurry and get yours before they are gone ) Penny Drive: There is a jug in the foyer for any donations to go towards the Pathfinders Oshkosh trip. What an incredible way to make a difference for the children. Donations are always welcome and appreciated, simply mark your tithe envelope, Oshkosh. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. UPPER COLUMBIA CONFERENCE NEWS Now That s Smart!: Nine Pathfinder teams from around the Northwest gathered at the Upper Columbia Conference office March 8, 2014 for the North Pacific Union Pathfinder Bible Experience event. On average, each Pathfinder memorized between four to six chapters of 2 Samuel for the event! Find out who placed first and watch a video. http:// l.uccsda.org/2014pbe Creek Side Praise: You ve heard the phrase, If the good Lord willing and the creek don t rise. This past Thursday (March 6) the creek behind the Countryside church and school did rise, but God wasn t willing. Church members worked late into the night using a backhoe and shovels to create a berm they prayed would hold the flooding creek at bay. An urgent email requesting prayer went out and prayers went up. The following morning brought daylight, receding water and evidence that God had used the berm to protect the property. This is truly an answer to the prayers of God's people. Mister Wister s School: This week we re praying for Palisades Christian Academy in Spokane, WA, led by principal, Dan Wister. Please join us in praying for the school s mission trip to Panama that leaves this next Tuesday. In addition teachers and students at PCA ask for prayers for parents looking for jobs, those struggling with illnesses and for continued growth in their enrollment. More Like Jesus: Have you made plans to attend camp meeting this year? Our theme is More Like Jesus and features John McVay, Eric Shadle, Dan Jackson and Paul Hoover. For way more information than we have room for in this short little paragraph, head over to uccsda.org/campmeeting and read all about it. Also, be sure to register now for your dorm, RV or tent spot as those are quickly disappearing. Pimp to Preacher: West Central Multi-Cultural Seventh-day Adventist Church invites you and your family to attend special meetings, March 22-29, featuring Evangelist Ron Williams from Texas. Ron will give his testimony, "From Pimp to Preacher" and share how God transformed his life "From crime to Christ." Come and enjoy dynamic Bible preaching, inspirational music, prayer for the sick and troubled, gifts and much more. All meetings will be held at the West Central Multi-Cultural Church located at 1201 West Spofford Avenue, Spokane, WA. For more information call 509.533.0751 or visit westcentralsdachurch.com. A Life of Faith: Dr. Jay Sloop, Upper Columbia Conference s health ministries director, disappeared in Ukraine nine months ago while helping Adventists in Kiev establish a lifestyle center in the Ukrainian capital. Dr. Sloop s family announced this past week they plan to hold a Celebration of a Life of Faith service April 26 at 3 p.m. at the Yakima Adventist Church. Dr. Sloop has touched countless lives, both as a physician and as health ministries director. Camp Meeting Volunteers Needed! : If you love camp meeting and want to help, we have some volunteer positions open again this year. Volunteers should be available from June 18-21, 2014. We are looking for assistance with transportation and media production which includes shuttle drivers, writers, photographers, video camera operators etc. If you have an interest in any of these areas, please contact Kathy at the Upper Columbia Conference office at 509-242-0512 or kathym@uccsda.org. We Believe... 1. That the Bible is the final authority for all belief and practice for the Christian (2 Timothy 3:16-17). 2. That there is one God revealed in three person God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17). 3. That we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (John 3:16, 1 John 5:12-13 & Ephesians 2:8-9). 4. That Christians who have been redeemed by Jesus will live in obedience to all of His commandments (John 14:15). 5. That Jesus will come again very soon (John 14:1-3). 6. That the requirements of the Ten Commandments are still binding on all people today, including the seventh-day Sabbath of the fourth commandment (Matthew 5:17, Exodus 20:8-11). 7. That the judgment which will decide the eternal destiny of all people is now taking place in heaven (Daniel 8:14, 9:25-27). 8. That when a person dies they do not go immediately to heaven or hell, but rest in the grave as one who is asleep awaiting the resurrection (Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, John 5:28-29, 11:11-14). 9. That after Jesus comes again, the people of God will judge the world with Jesus, following which fire will fall from heaven to completely devour the wicked and purify the earth (1 Corinthians 6:2-3, Revelation 20:4-9, 2 Peter 3:10-13). 10. That God, as a loving Father, wants us to live healthful lives avoiding foods and substances He has declared unfit, and actively pursuing positive lifestyle habits (Leviticus 11, Proverbs 20:1, Daniel 1:8, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). 11. That the followers of Jesus will live pure and honorable lives making sure their business, recreation and relationships meet the Bible standard (Philippians 4:8). 12. That God gives power through His people to bless the church and the world in miracles, teaching, prophecy, healing, mercy, and many other gifts (1 Corinthians 12). 13. That the Seventh-day Adventist Church fills a special role in the world today to prepare people for the 2nd coming of Jesus (Rev. 14:6-13). 14. That the Bible teaches that all who have accepted Jesus as their Savior/Lord, and who intend to obey all the teachings of the Bible should be baptized by immersion (John 3:5 & Matthew 28:19-20).
