Amen. EXHORTATION Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. If You, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? But with You there is forgiveness; therefore You are feared. Since we are gathered to hear God s Word, call upon Him in prayer and praise, and receive the gifts of our Lord Jesus hrist through Word and Sacrament, let us first consider our unworthiness and confess before God and one another that we have sinned in thought, word, and deed, and that we cannot free ourselves from our sinful condition. Together as His people let us take refuge in the infinite mercy of God, our heavenly Father, seeking His grace for the sake of hrist, and saying: God, be merciful to me, a sinner. ONFESSION and ABSOLUTION Almighty God, have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins, and lead us to everlasting life. Amen. Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of hrist, and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 1

T WORD T INTROIT s 132:13-16 (antiphon: 34:8) Arise, O LORD, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place: This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread. Her priests I will clothe with salvation, and her saints will shout for joy. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen. Arise, O LORD, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. KYRIE GLORIA IN EXELSIS 2

SALUTATION and OLLET OF THE DAY The Lord be with you. And also with you. Let us pray. O God, Your almighty power is made known chiefly in showing mercy. (lease stand) RAYERS OF THE HURH Let us pray for the whole hurch of God in hrist Jesus and for all people according to their needs. Brief silence Almighty and everlasting God, Your ascended Son reigns over all the nations. By His Gospel, pour out Your Holy Spirit on Your people. Open our lips to speak Your Word with boldness to one and all. By the mercy we have received in Your Son, wholly shape our lives in love so that all we say, all that we do, may bring You glory and praise. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Kind Father, move all congregations to sound forth the call to repentance without fear. Keep them faithful in their proclamation of Your Word, especially in the face of those who oppose it and refuse to hear You. Raise up new workers for Your harvest fields to speak Your Word as we wait for the coming of our Lord and the final fulfillment of Your every promise. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Ruler of the nations, protect and care for our country. Give wisdom to our president, our governor and to all who make, administer or judge our laws. Bless all public servants as they attempt to provide safety and stability to our society. Give them courage to protect the free exercise of religion and to honor and protect every life from conception to natural death. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Heavenly Father, Your grace is sufficient for us and Your power is made perfect in weakness. Into Your loving hands, we commend all those who suffer in body, mind or spirit (especially Your servants ). Grant them patience in their afflictions and trust in Your wisdom, and strengthen their hope as they look forward to the final healing that awaits all Your children at the day of the resurrection. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Great I AM, source of all life, send Your Holy Spirit to those who mourn the death of loved 5

ones. omfort them with the promise of Your Son, that as in Adam all die, so in hrist shall all be made alive. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. These things and everything else You know that we need, grant to us, Father, for the sake of Your only Son, Jesus hrist, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. LORD S RAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. The 8:20 am service continues on page 10 with the Benedicamus and Benediction. IN REGARD TO HOLY OMMUNION: According to Scripture, Holy ommunion should be celebrated by those who are: United in a common faith (1 or. 10:16-17, 21-22; Rom. 16:17); Repentant of sins (1 or. 5:11, Matt. 18:17-18); Able to examine their lives (1 or. 11:27-29); and believe that in this precious meal they receive the true body and blood of Jesus given and shed for the forgiveness of their sins (Luke 22:19-22). Since Scripture teaches that those people who do not fully understand the meaning of this meal eat and drink to their own harm (1or. 11:27-29), and because the Lord s Supper is the supreme act of stating our unity in faith and doctrine, we would ask those people who are visiting with us to please speak with our pastors, before communing, in order that we might fulfill our responsibility of properly instructing people in the right use of the precious Sacrament. REFAE The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. T SERVIE OF THE SARAMENT T 11:00 am Service 6

It is right to give Him thanks and praise. It is truly good, right, and salutary that we should at all times and in all places give thanks to You, O Lord, holy Father, almighty and everlasting God, for the countless blessings You so freely bestow on us and all creation. Above all, we give thanks for Your boundless love shown to us when You sent Your only-begotten Son, Jesus hrist, into our flesh and laid on Him our sin, giving Him into death that we might not die eternally. Because He is now risen from the dead and lives and reigns to all eternity, all who believe in Him will overcome sin and death and will rise again to new life. Therefore, with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven we laud and magnify Your glorious name, evermore praising You and saying: SANTUS RAYER OF THANKSGIVING In Your righteous judgment You condemned the sin of Adam and Eve, who ate the forbidden fruit, and You justly barred them and all their children from the tree of life. Yet, in Your great mercy, You promised salvation by a second Adam, Your Son, Jesus hrist, our Lord, and made His cross a life-giving tree for all who trust in Him. We give You thanks for the redemption You have prepared for us through Jesus hrist. Grant us Your Holy Spirit that we may faithfully eat and drink of the fruits of His cross and receive the blessings of forgiveness, life, and salvation that come to us in His body and blood. Amen. 7

Let us pray. Gracious God, our heavenly Father, You have given us a foretaste of the feast to come in the Holy Supper of Your Son's body and blood. Keep us firm in the true faith throughout our days of pilgrimage that, on the day of His coming, we may, together with all Your saints, celebrate the marriage feast of the Lamb in His kingdom which has no end; through Jesus hrist, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. BENEDIAMUS and BENEDITION Numbers 6:24 26 Let us bless the Lord. Thanks be to God. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you.
