SEATED God calls us to confess our sin from Hebrews 4:14-16 Since n we have a great high priest who has passed through heavens, Jesus, Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us n with confidence draw near to throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in ^me of need. We confess our sin Gracious God, you promise to lir our heads in hope in midst of turmoil and trial. But we grow weary from running race, and we stop looking to you for strength to endure and joy to sa@sfy our thirst for you. We hope in our own strategies and strengths to bring us security to calm our fears and dignity to remove our shame. We stop hoping in your power and joy while we endure pain and sadness. We live without lament, and so we miss grace of hope you give in pouring out our pain to you. We forget that you always see and remember us in love, so our souls are downcast in despair without hope. Lord, have mercy on us. (silent prayers of confession) Please lead our faltering hearts back to you and lir our heads in hope. In midst of our turmoil, show your surpassing power in us and through us by your Holy Spirit so that we abound in hope and unconquered joy and find you to be stability and strength of our heart forever. page 2
STANDING (IF ABLE) God declares our forgiveness from Romans 5:1-2, 5 Since we have been jus^fied by, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in hope of glory of God. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured his love into our hearts by Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. For all who have turned from sin in sorrow and look to God for mercy, this is God s gir. In Jesus Christ, God loves you, God forgives you, God accepts you, and God rejoices over you as beloved daughters and sons. Hallelujah, Amen!
