Pastor s Message Is it Luck, Fate, or Blessings? The First Article: Creation I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. What does this mean? I believe that God has made me and all creatures; that He has given me my body and soul, eyes, ears, and all my members, my reason and all my senses, and still takes care of them. He also gives me clothing and shoes, food and drink, house and home, wife and children, land, animals, and all I have. He richly and daily provides me with all that I need to support this body and life. He defends me against all danger and guards and protects me from all evil. All this He does only out of fatherly, divine goodness and mercy, without any merit or worthiness in me. For all this it is my duty to thank and praise, serve and obey Him. This is most certainly true. There is a song which has as a lyric, If I didn t have bad luck, I d have no luck at all. The question is, as Christians, do we: Live move, and have our being by luck? Another says, Ah, the fates, the fates, they be against me! The question is, as Christians do we: Live, move, and have our being in fate? According to the Sainted Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, writing in circa, 1530, says God blesses us, with life, and possessions. Some have more than others, some less. Some have more troubles, some have less. The Scriptures tell us that God causes the rain to fall on the just and unjust alike. So, is it mere luck or fate, or God s plan to provide for all? I like the Irish, some say I am from Irish descent??? And March is the Luck of the Irish month! Three leaf clovers and the color of green! (Remember back when if you didn t wear green on St. Pats day, you usually went home from school, with a few marks of blue from all the pinches. Then there is Irish cream, Irish coffee, sneaking a sip, of dad s Irish whisky, fresh from our Uncle s still from the Kentucky Hill back of his house! But more important, understanding what the three leaf clovers represents. Many call finding a three-leaf clover would give you good luck. And say, My, you have the luck of the Irish! But in truth, a three-leaf clover meant to were blessed. Why? The three-leaf clover represents the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. So you can see why some would call you blessed to have possession of one. Many would actually take preserve the clover, and put it in a picture frame! So, this March, as you hear of old St. Patty, see the little green derby of the Leprechauns, and dream of finding that pot of Gold at the end of a rainbow, (Good time now to remember the blessing of the rainbow), remember, we do not live by luck or fate, but by the blessings given to us by God. Oh, lest I forget, we also pray for these blessings do we not? The Fourth Petition. Give us this day our daily bread. What does this mean? God gives daily bread, even without our prayer, to all wicked men; but we pray in this petition that He would lead us to know it, and to receive our daily bread with thanksgiving. God s peace be with you all. Pastor Martis Luther s Small Catechism 1986 Concordia Publishing House, cph.org

When we are passionate about something, it is apparent to all those around us. Jesus was passionate about His Father's house. After He cleansed the temple, His disciples remembered what was written, "Zeal for Your house will consume me". May the Holy Spirit instill us with a zeal for Christ so that we may boldly speak His Good News and share His mercy and love with a world in desperate need of it.

Midweek classes sing before the service. Front Row: Ryan, Owen, Jack, Alexis, Anneka, Marcus Back Row: Lucy, Macee, Mitch, Mina, Vivian On the lighter side of things... Finally! A Good Trump Joke President Trump is walking out of the White House and heading toward his limo, when a possible assassin steps forward and aims a gun. A secret service agent, new on the job, shouts, Mickey Mouse! This startles the would be assassin and he is captured. Later, the secret service agent's supervisor takes him aside and asks, What made you shout Mickey Mouse? Blushing, the agent replies, I got nervous. I meant to shout Donald... duck!
