Imperial Order of Saint Eugene of Trebizond North American Exarchate P. O. Box 30032, San Bernardino, CA 92413 U.S.A. www.orderofsteugene.com sainteugeneinfo@gmail.com 909~567~8038 THIRD quarter 2009 I greet you in the name of the Beloved Martyred Saint Eugene. I pray that this issue of the New Byzantine finds each Knight and their families in good health and spirits. I owe many of you a letter of response to letters that you have sent to me. I am so sorry for this delay, but my time has not been my own for the last 3 months. I have been doing a careful balancing act between my 90+ year old parents who cannot live alone any longer and will not recognize it, my Boy Scout duties where I am on an adult training course as a staff member (Woodbadge) and my duties as an Assistant District Governor for Rotary. I know it is not hard to answer a letter, so I promise I will!! We continue our series on Icons and the series of Ancient Orders. We are now at number 8 of the 14 Icons sent to us by the Exarchate of Greece. Chief of Polanie-Patrikios, has just lost his mother The Princess Della Mae, Dowager Duchess of Bransk-Marmora. Our condolences, along with our prayers, are offered to the family. We had new Knights invested into the Order this past Quarter. Sir Duke Stern and his wife Lady Rebecca Stern have been friends of the Exarchate for North America for almost 20 years. During that time, I have approached them for entry into the Order a number of times. All I can say now is welcome, it s about time! Lady Julia Everett is a relative of Sir Robert Cowan, Count of Kyzikos, Knight of the Silver Cross. During this last Quarter, the North American Exarchate has presented the Medal of Merit for services to the North American Exarchate. See the following pages for this information. This May God continue to bless each of our Knights daily. We are sad to report that His Serene Highness Prince Kermit William Polanie-Patrikios de Gniezno, Dynastic Marykatos Dr. Russell R. Fritz G.Cl.E.Tr Marquis of Marykatos Exarch for North America
