The Stain Glass Window in the Chapel You may be interested to learn some information about this window. The East window was designed and made by Joyce Meredith (1892 1962). She studied at the Liverpool School of Art, then later trained at the Slade School and worked in Christopher Whall s studio. By the 1920 s she had entered an Anglican religious order, but continued to work with stained glass. Your window was made in 1930 (this information is all from a recent journal of the BSMGP [British Society of Master Glass Painters]). The other two smaller windows were made by a company called Celtic, which was based in Swansea. Written by Peter Jones a stain glass window enthusiast. Here is a link to a page on the website of Mucknell Abbey. Br Aidan there has been researching the life of Joyce Meredith and this is a good summary. http://mucknellabbey.org.uk/biography-joyce-mary/ Denmead Brass Concert is on Saturday the 13 th of October at 7.30pm in St. George s Church. Please contact Tony Rice- Oxley for tickets.

Everywhere we look we see your handiwork. Help us to enjoy the earth gently and to work so that all may be fed. We pray for those who work the land both nearby and in different countries. May they receive a just reward for their labour and may their work both as food producers and stewards of the land be honoured. In Jesus name. Amen (CRC and the Rural Support Network Bringing Food to the Table )
