Seaside Edge Core Members What is Edge? Edge is Hingham s very own 8th grade youth ministry program! These Edge events will take place from 4:00 PM - 5:15 PM on Sundays and will be a time of teaching, evangelizing, catechizing and an introduction to a personal relationship with Jesus! Edge is looking for a Core Team of Teens who are ready to serve their Church community and their 8th grade peers. They would be helping Deacon Robert Little to run Edge through setup and breakdown, active participation and discussions, as well as providing a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere. The responsibilities can be seen below and the incentives to join will not be disappointing! What will my responsibilities be? As an Edge Core member, you, alongside another Core, will be leading table discussions with the 8th the graders. You will be responsible for that table throughout the year. People are depending on you so it is important to make sure your table is always covered. Your responsibility also will be to help run the 8th grade Edge, through occasionally preparing a skit or game, giving a witness talk and helping Deacon Robert Little and the other Edge Core Leaders. What are the commitments to be on Edge Core? As an Edge Core Member, we are asking you to commit to attending at least 75%, that is 20 of the 26 Sunday Edge Events and to attend the Life Teen Masses (3 PM - 6:30 PM), with three exceptions (see below). Edge Events will take place on the following dates: 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21 (3-8:30 PM), 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 12/2 (3-8:30 PM), 12/9, 12/16, 1/6, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10 (3-8:30 PM), 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24, 3/31, 4/7, 4/28. In addition we will need your help with either the 9th (March 16th 9:30 AM - 4 PM) or the 10th Grade (November 3rd 9:30 AM - 6 PM) retreat at Resurrection to lead table discussions. We ask all Edge Core Members to attend the September 9th opening Life Teen Mass at Resurrection. There will also be a mandatory orientation night at Resurrection on Thursday, September 7th from 6:30-9 PM. We also ask that you join us for our weekly Thursday Night Holy Hours at Resurrection from 8:30-9:30 PM.

What are the requirements to be on Edge Core? Because you will be working to build up the Kingdom of God amongst 8th graders, there are some important guidelines for you to follow: 1. Spiritual Life - We are all on a mission to bring Christ everywhere we go. We cannot do that if we are not first in a personal relationship with Him. On the spiritual level, you ll be required to attend the Life Teen mass on Sundays, go to Confession at least once a month so that you will be able to hear the voice of the Lord more clearly, and to set aside at least 20 minutes a day for personal prayer. 2. Dedication - As an Edge Core Member, you will be an integral part of Seaside Edge. You would work alongside Fr. Sinisa and Deacon Robert to lead table discussions, help with skits/games and witness talks, provide hospitality, setup and breakdown Edge Nights. It is also crucial for everyone to participate during mass and other events in an enthusiastic, welcoming, and authentic way so that everyone can feel like they belong. 3. Personal - Each of us have unique gifts and talents, so important that we are able to be ourselves. As a member of Edge Core, your personality, humor and enthusiasm will help bring life to the program. The world needs who you are over what you have. 4. Be faithful to the Edge Core Pledge - See attached. What do I get out of being apart of this Ministry? You ll have the opportunity to serve God and your younger peers by walking with them on their journey to heaven. If that weren t enough, all dedicated Edge Core Members will have 1st pick on any outing planned for the year including the Haiti Mission Trips. In addition, you will receive $500 travel stipend for full attendance (3 PM - 6:30 PM) that you ll be able to put towards any of the trips we have planned for next year. However, you are required to attend at least 75% of the Sunday evening s, 20 of the 26 nights, or you will forfeit your travel stipend. This role also counts for leadership experience or service hours. What do I need to do to apply? If interested in being part of Edge Core, please see attached Application
