We love our families and friends, we love those close around us, we show partiality to those in positions of power over us, and we ignore those who seem irrelevant. We are selfish with our love, loving those who will love us, who will help us. Forgive us, loving Jesus, for not loving the way You did, by laying down Your life for the lost and the least, the poor and the broken. Forgive us, loving Jesus, for being shortsighted, and not seeing our brothers and sisters in the world. Call us back into * Those who are able will stand. Ushers will seat those waiting. Hearing aids and large print hymns are available from the ushers. 2

Lucrecia Norman THE ANTHEM My Shepherd Will Supply My Need...arr. John Carter The Chancel Choir; Mary Ann Davis, soprano My Shepherd will supply my need, Jehovah is his name; in pastures fresh he makes me feed beside the living stream. He brings my wandering spirit back when I forsake his ways and leads me for his mercies sake, in paths of truth and grace. When I walk through the shades of death, thy presence is my stay; one word of thy supporting breath drives all my fears away. Thy hand, in sight of all my foes, doth still my table spread; my cup with blessings overflows, thy oil anoints my head. The sure provisions of my God attend me all my days; oh, may thy house be my abode and all my work be praise. There would I find a 3

FLOWERS The flowers in the sanctuary are given with special love in memory of Frances Barrier, Gene s mother, and with special love in memory of Marjorie Wilson Gardner, Ellen s mother, by Gene, Ellen, Thomas, Tiffany, Ava, Gardner, Heather, Livy, and Maya. ABOUT OUR BANNERS The Easter banner views Jesus resurrection from the inside of the tomb looking out. The grave clothes reflect the note in John 20:7 that the burial linens were left in the tomb with the head wrapping separate from the rest. The contrasting darkness within the tomb and the brightness outside point to the light of God s new day breaking upon a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). As Jesus exits the tomb, clothed in a loin cloth, he is about to surprise Mary with the realization, The Lord is risen! The Lord is risen indeed! (John 20:18). The artist who painted the banner is our own Bambi Setzer. FOR THE CHILDREN Worship Care is provided for children, infant - kindergarten aged on the first floor of Building B. First, Third & Fifth Sundays: children in 1st - 3rd grades are invited to Children s Church.
