Slide 43 The Promotion of Daniel (2:46 49) Personal honor (2:46) Praise to God (2:47) Promotion of Daniel (2:48) Promotion of Shadrach, Meshach, & Abed nego (2:49) 46 Luke 16:10-He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. Philip. 2:5-11-Have this attitude [e] in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be [f] grasped, 7 but [g] emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death [h] on a cross. 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Heb. 6:10-For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the [i] saints.

Rev. 22:12-Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man [g] according to what he has done. 47 Acts 10:24-25-On the following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and [t] worshiped him. Acts 14:11-15-When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they raised their voice, saying in the Lycaonian language, The gods have become like men and have come down to us. 12 And they began calling Barnabas, [g] Zeus, and Paul, [h] Hermes, because he was [i] the chief speaker. 13 The priest of Zeus, whose temple was [j] just outside the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and wanted to offer sacrifice with the crowds. 14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their [k] robes and rushed out into the crowd, crying out 15 and saying, Men, why are you doing these things? We are also men of the same nature as you, and preach the gospel to you that you should turn from these [l] vain things to a living God, WHO MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM. Rev. 19:10-Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he *said to me, Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Rev. 22:8-9-I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of

the angel who showed me these things. 9 But he *said to me, Do not do that. I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who [f] heed the words of this book. Worship God. 1 Tim. 3:6- and not a new convert, so that he will not become conceited and fall into the condemnation [d] incurred by the devil. Rev. 19:16-And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Dan. 4:34-35- But at the end of [ag] that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my [ah] reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom endures from generation to generation. 35 All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, But He does according to His will in the host of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can [ai] ward off His hand Or say to Him, What have You done? 1 Cor. 3:6-I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. John 4:35-38-Do you not say, There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest. 36 Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this case the saying is true, One sows and another reaps. 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not

labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor. 48 Gen. 41:37-46-Now the [ad] proposal seemed good [ae] to Pharaoh and [af] to all his servants. 38 Then Pharaoh said to his servants, Can we find a man like this, in whom is a divine spirit? 39 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are. 40 You shall be over my house, and according to your [ag] command all my people shall [ah] do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you. 41 Pharaoh said to Joseph, See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt. 42 Then Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put the gold necklace around his neck. 43 He had him ride in [ai] his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him, [aj] Bow the knee! And he set him over all the land of Egypt. 44 Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, Though I am Pharaoh, yet without [ak] your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. 45 Then Pharaoh named Joseph [al] Zaphenath-paneah; and he gave him Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera priest of [am] On, as his wife. And Joseph went forth over the land of Egypt. 46 Now Joseph was thirty years old when he [an] stood before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh and went through all the land of Egypt. Ps 75:6-7-For not from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the [e] desert comes exaltation; 7 But God is the Judge; He puts down one and exalts another.

Prov. 18:16-A man s gift makes room for him And brings him before great men. 1 Pet. 5:6-Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time. Matt. 2:2- Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him. Gen. 2:8- The LORD God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed. Gen. 11:2- It came about as they journeyed east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar and [c] settled there Num. 24:17- I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near; A star shall come forth from Jacob, A scepter shall rise from Israel, And shall crush through the [s] forehead of Moab, And [t] tear down all the sons of [u] Sheth Deut 23:4- because they did not meet you with [b] food and water on the way when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of [c] Mesopotamia, to curse you. Dan. 9:25- So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a [x] decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until [y] Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with [z] plaza and moat, even in times of distress. 49 Dan. 2;17-18-Then Daniel went to his house and informed his friends, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, about the matter, 18 so

that they might request compassion from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his friends would not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Prov. 18:24-A man of too many friends comes to [m] ruin, But there is a [n] friend who sticks closer than a brother. Rev. 5:10- You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth. Walvoord-Thus Daniel, the obscure Jewish captive who could have been lost to history like many others if he had compromised in chapter 1, is now exalted to a place of great honor and power. Like Joseph in Egypt, he was destined to play an important part in the subsequent history of his generation. Conclusion Num. 6:24-26- The LORD bless you, and keep you; 25 The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; 26 The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.
