As In The Days Of Noah October 4, 2017 Part 7 Pastor Grant Williams Over the last two weeks we have studied 2 things or issues that are in God s Word regarding the wickedness that was at the time of Noah which would also be at the Time Of The End. Those 2 things were alcohol or drunkenness and homosexuality. Remember, these things are in combination with all the other signs of Jesus return which points to how close we are to the Rapture of the Church. Matthew 24:33 NASB 33 so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. Matthew 24:33 KJV 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 1 of 18

The word know and recognize in the Greek in Matthew 24:33 is a command. You and I are commanded to know these signs to these things of His return. We prove we love God by keeping His commands, Jesus said John 14:15 KJV 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:21 KJV 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. There are more benefits of being obedient to God s commands as well which He shows by His love. Remember God is love and He is the Word. The Word tells us what is going to happen when we are obedient and disobedient. His Word is for you and I so we won t be in the dark to the signs of the season of His return. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 KJV 1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 2 of 18

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. God s Word speaks about the righteous, those who it is their nature, not perfect people but perfecting and no iniquity (unrepentant sin). God s Word contains many warnings about wickedness. Those who obeyed the warnings from God, were spared the predicted consequences. God s Word defines the primary dictionary definition of the word warn Warn Defined: to tell (a person) of a danger, coming evil, misfortune, etc.; Isaiah 46:9-10 AMPC 9 [Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old; for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me, 10 Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose, Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 KJV 9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. 3 of 18

The third issue of wickedness As In The Days Of Noah is the shedding of innocent blood. Luke 17:26 AMPC 26 And [just] as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the time of the Son of Man. Let s go back to the book of Genesis and see what God s Word is revealing to us today from before the revelation of His Word which is forth telling of what was foretold. Genesis 9:5-6 KJV 5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. Genesis 9:5-6 AMPC 5 And surely for your lifeblood I will require an accounting; from every beast I will require it; and from man, from every man [who spills another s lifeblood] I will require a reckoning. 6 Whoever sheds man s blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God He made man. Genesis 9:5-6 GNT 5 If anyone takes human life, he will be punished. I will punish with death any animal that takes a human life. 6 Human beings were made like God, so whoever murders one of them will be killed by someone else. 4 of 18

There is a judgment coming on those who shed innocent blood. The book of Proverbs talks about the 7 things that God hates Proverbs 6:16-19 KJV 16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Proverbs 6:16-19 AMPC 16 These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren. The Seven Things The Lord Hates And Cannot Tolerate A proud look A lying tongue Hands that kill innocent people A mind that thinks up wicked plans Feet that hurry off to do evil A witness who tells one lie after another 5 of 18

God hates the hands of those who shed innocent blood. There have been over 58 million babies who have been aborted or murdered since Roe vs. Wade in 1973. This is without a doubt the shedding of innocent blood. The shedding of innocent blood will be judged, the city of Jerusalem was destroyed because of the shedding of innocent blood. 2 Kings 21:16 GNT 16 Manasseh killed so many innocent people that the streets of Jerusalem were flowing with blood; he did this in addition to leading the people of Judah into idolatry, causing them to sin against the Lord. 2 Kings 21:1-18 GNT King Manasseh of Judah 1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king of Judah, and he ruled in Jerusalem for fifty-five years. His mother was Hephzibah. 2 Following the disgusting practices of the nations whom the Lord had driven out of the land as his people advanced, Manasseh sinned against the Lord. 3 He rebuilt the pagan places of worship that his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he built altars for the worship of Baal and made an image of the goddess Asherah, as King Ahab of Israel had done. Manasseh also worshiped the stars. 4 He built pagan altars in the Temple, the place that the Lord had said was where he should be worshiped. 6 of 18

5 In the two courtyards of the Temple he built altars for the worship of the stars. 6 He sacrificed his son as a burnt offering. He practiced divination and magic and consulted fortunetellers and mediums. He sinned greatly against the Lord and stirred up his anger. 7 He placed the symbol of the goddess Asherah in the Temple, the place about which the Lord had said to David and his son Solomon: Here in Jerusalem, in this Temple, is the place that I have chosen out of all the territory of the twelve tribes of Israel as the place where I am to be worshiped. 8 And if the people of Israel will obey all my commands and keep the whole Law that my servant Moses gave them, then I will not allow them to be driven out of the land that I gave to their ancestors. 9 But the people of Judah did not obey the Lord, and Manasseh led them to commit even greater sins than those committed by the nations whom the Lord had driven out of the land as his people advanced. 10 Through his servants the prophets the Lord said, 11 King Manasseh has done these disgusting things, things far worse than what the Canaanites did; and with his idols he has led the people of Judah into sin. 12 So I, the Lord God of Israel, will bring such a disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that everyone who hears about it will be stunned. 13 I will punish Jerusalem as I did Samaria, as I did King Ahab of Israel and his descendants. I will wipe Jerusalem clean of its people, as clean as a plate that has been wiped and turned upside down. 7 of 18

14 I will abandon the people who survive, and will hand them over to their enemies, who will conquer them and plunder their land. 15 I will do this to my people because they have sinned against me and have stirred up my anger from the time their ancestors came out of Egypt to this day. 16 Manasseh killed so many innocent people that the streets of Jerusalem were flowing with blood; he did this in addition to leading the people of Judah into idolatry, causing them to sin against the Lord. 17 Everything else that Manasseh did, including the sins he committed, is recorded in The History of the Kings of Judah. 18 Manasseh died and was buried in the palace garden, the garden of Uzza, and his son Amon succeeded him as king. Now, I want to point out something here at the time of the flood in Genesis 6, it says that violence filled the earth. Genesis 6:11 AMPC 11 The earth was depraved and putrid in God s sight, and the land was filled with violence (desecration, infringement, outrage, assault, and lust for power). Genesis 6:11 KJV 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. The Hebrew word in verse 11 for violence is hamas, and it is the same Hebrew word used for violence in over 70 places in scripture. Once again, hamas is the Hebrew word for violence. 8 of 18

When Sarai allowed Abram to have a child through Hagar she eventually despised Hagar and Ishmael. Sarai went to Abram to have Hagar and Ishmael expelled from the family. This is a prophetic thing that is spoken by Sarai Genesis 16:4-5 KJV 4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. 5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the Lord judge between me and thee. Now, what is prophetic about this passage is found in the phrase, My wrong be upon thee. The word wrong here in verse 5 in Hebrew is the word hamas which is translated from the word violence in the King James Version. Sarai is actually saying that violence is going to come upon me, that God is going to judge and violence is going to come upon me because of what I have done. The seed of Ishmael throughout history has been very violent towards the Jewish people, especially over the last 50 years. Hamas is a terrorist organization down in the Gaza strip that hates the Jews and wants the destruction of Israel. 9 of 18

The word hamas appears in the Psalms as well. Prayers are lifted up for deliverance from violent men, men of hamas. The enemies of God s anointed are described in Psalms as people who breathe out hamas and cruelty. Psalm 27:12 AMPC 12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me; they breathe out cruelty and violence. The habitations of hamas are called the dark places of the earth Psalm 74:20 AMPC 20 Have regard for the covenant [You made with Abraham], for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence. Psalm 11:5 states that God hates those who love hamas Psalm 11:5 AMPC 5 The Lord tests and proves the [unyieldingly] righteous, but His soul abhors the wicked and him who loves violence. Two passages of Scripture that serve as warnings to today s Hamas terrorists are Obadiah and Joel. These verses deal specifically with the hamas/violence perpetrated by Edom, another name for Esau (Ezekiel 35), the ancestor of the Arabs, against Jacob and Judah, the ancestors of the Jewish people. The Edomites also took the ancient high holy places which is the West Bank or todays Palestinian territory as told by Ezekiel. 10 of 18

According to Obadiah, the children of Edom shall be cut off forever because of their violence (hamas) against their brother Jacob. Remember, Edom is Esau and Israel is Jacob Obadiah 10 KJV 10 For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever. Obadiah 10 GNT Reasons for Edom's Punishment 10 Because you robbed and killed your relatives, the descendants of Jacob, you will be destroyed and dishonored forever. Jacobs Name Is Now Israel Genesis 35:10 KJV 10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel. The Prophet Joel says that Edom (Esau) shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence (hamas) against the children of Judah (Israel/Jacob), because they have shed innocent blood in their land. Joel 3:19 KJV 19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. 11 of 18

So fierce is the wrath of God against the descendants of Esau who practice hamas that one of the commandments of the Torah says, Thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek [grandson of Esau, ancestor of the Arabs] from under heaven. Deuteronomy 25:19 AMPC 19 Therefore when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies round about in the land which the Lord your God gives you to possess as an inheritance, you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens; you must not forget. 12 of 18

We can see the parallel As In The Days Of Noah not just in the violence that is in the world today but specifically the Hamas organization who is against Israel now at the Time Of The End. Note: As we go through this study we are using the Bible as our primary and main source. We are also using Jewish history books, Josephus and the Antiquities of The Jews. In addition, we have and will use or combine The Book of Jasher, The book of Enoch and other Jewish reference books that confirm and come into agreement with what the Bible calls, The Time Of The End. The Book of Jasher is also known as the Book of the Upright One in the Greek Septuagint and the Book of the Just Ones in the Latin Vulgate. The Book of Jasher is a collection or compilation of ancient Hebrew songs and poems praising the heroes of Israel and their exploits in battle. There is some very interesting information you will find about Noah in the book of Jasher (Jasher is referenced in Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:8). One of the historical things you find is that Noah was not yet married at 480 years old when God told him that a flood was coming and that a 120 years remained before the flood. Interesting to note that is was at this time in the Bible as well that God said man should only live 120 years. Remember, at this time, the first 10 generations were living on an average of 900 years. Genesis 6:1-14 GNT - Human Wickedness 1 When people had spread all over the world, and daughters were being born, 13 of 18

2 some of the heavenly beings saw that these young women were beautiful, so they took the ones they liked. 3 Then the Lord said, I will not allow people to live forever; they are mortal. From now on they will live no longer than 120 years. 4 In those days, and even later, there were giants on the earth who were descendants of human women and the heavenly beings. They were the great heroes and famous men of long ago. 5 When the Lord saw how wicked everyone on earth was and how evil their thoughts were all the time, 6 he was sorry that he had ever made them and put them on the earth. He was so filled with regret 7 that he said, I will wipe out these people I have created, and also the animals and the birds, because I am sorry that I made any of them. 8 But the Lord was pleased with Noah. 9-10 This is the story of Noah. He had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Noah had no faults and was the only good man of his time. He lived in fellowship with God, 11 but everyone else was evil in God's sight, and violence had spread everywhere. 12 God looked at the world and saw that it was evil, for the people were all living evil lives. 13 God said to Noah, I have decided to put an end to all people. I will destroy them completely, because the world is full of their violent deeds. 14 Build a boat Genesis 6:1-14 KJV 1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 14 of 18

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. 9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. 15 of 18

Then, we are told in the Book of Jasher that Noah did not want to get married or have children because he didn t want them destroyed in the flood. But, God came to him and said if you will marry and continue to obey me I will help you survive this Flood/judgment by building an Ark. Noah then married Enoch s daughter and they had 3 sons after Noah turned 500 named Shem, Ham and Japeth. Genesis 5:32 KJV 32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth. From scripture and Jewish history it appears that these 3 boys were triplets. God ordained for them to be born the same time in order to help build the Ark. So, we know that after their birth that Noah had a 100 year time frame to build the Ark. He was 500 years old when the 3 boys were born and he was 600 years old when the Flood came. So he had 100 years to warn the people and to prepare. He had Methuselah and his 3 boys helping him build the Ark Genesis 7:11 KJV 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 16 of 18

We studied in this series that from the time of Adam and then passed down to the first 10 generations of men that Noah knew that there would be judgment by a Flood. Here are some of the Jewish historical signs of the Flood. 3 Things That Restrained The Flood 1. The fullness of time - 100 years to prepare - Genesis 7:6 Genesis 7:6 KJV 6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth. 2. The assignment (Ark) had to be complete - Genesis 7:1 Genesis 7:1 KJV 7 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. 3. The right people and animals had to be inside - Genesis 7:16 Genesis 7:16 KJV 16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in. The Flood was restrained from coming until 3 things happened just like Jesus will not return or is restrained from returning until some things happen. 17 of 18

At the return of Christ, all 3 of the same things that prevented the Flood from coming until it happened, these same 3 things have a pattern in the return of Jesus Christ. We will find out what they are next week Isaiah 46:9-10 AMPC 9 [Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old; for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me, 10 Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose, Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 KJV 9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. 18 of 18
