This is a vibrant and active church with many talented people who give their time, talent and treasure in the service to our Lord. I want to share with you some new programs that are currently in place for you and what is coming up that you can take advantage of. First, in an effort to provide mini sermons on spiritual topics, Monsignor Chiodo has a new video series called Heart s Journey that is produced each week. These videos are designed to reach this culture of busy people. With Monsignors style of communication, they are also wonderful for children s spiritual growth. In addition to these short videos, there are now podcasts Sunday homilies and blogs to read by both priests. These can serve as evangelization tools that you can use to share the faith with family and friends. There is also the weekly E-news listing what s coming up. These tools (videos, blogs, podcasts, E-new) are designed to make it possible for you to share or invite family and friends to grow in their faith and become a part of this beautiful community of believers. Monsignor has said to me on multiple occasions how important it is to be in the church community--to lift one anther up and encourage each other. Finally, in the fall there will be Word on Fire topical bible study series starting in September. I encourage you to participate in one or more studies and just as important, invite someone. You will get more details as we get closer to September. In the meantime, I hope you will watch, listen and read the wonderful messages your shepherds provide and share them with others. If you are not signed up for the E-news, I want to encourage you to do so. Go to StAnthonydsm.org and on the home page at the bottom is the registration, or email me at KLehman@stanthonydsm.org and I will sign you up. Many blessings, Kim Lehman

From Msgr. Frank Chiodo My Dear Parishioners, I would like to share with you a concern. The last week, we discovered four Eucharistic Hosts on the church floor. They had been discarded -we don t know why. We hope and pray that this act of deplorable disrespect was not intentional. Sometimes, the host is dropped -but why not picked up and consumed? Please commit to your memory the sacred nature consecrated host -the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Savior under the appearances of bread and wine. When receiving communion, immediately consume the Consecrated Host before walking back to your place. If you notice someone walking back with the host and is near you remind them, gently and politely, to consume the Sacred Host immediately. This is an act of reverence to the Lord in the Eucharist and an act of careful correction of our neighbor. While I am on the subject. Please remember the importance of genuflecting on one knee when entering and leaving the church or when passing the tabernacle. Also a traditional sign of reverence is making the sign cross when passing the church in a car. School is out for the summer. Please remember to come to Mass every weekend -there is no vacation from our privilege and responsibility to worship the Lord at Mass on Sunday. May the Good Lord watch over our children and keep them safe. Amen. Blessings, PLEASE NOTE There will be limited Mass schedule the first week of June due to the diocesan priest retreat. More details to come.
