Allen I Robert Allen do swear that my removal to the state of Kentucky was with an intention to become a citizen thereof and that I have brought with me no slave or slaves to this state with intention of selling them witness my hand this 21 st day of March 1828. The above named Robert Allen this day personally appeared before me a justice of the peace for said County and took the Oath as above set forth, given under my hand this 21 st day of March 1828. James I Daniel James do solemnly swear that my removal to the state of Kentucky was with the intention of bee coming a citizen thereof and I have brought with me no slave or slaves with intention of selling them, so help me God. Daniel James I Daniel James do solemnly swear that I imigrated to Kentucky with the views of bee coming a citizen thereof in good faith and that I was wholy ignorant of any case of the State of Kentucky requiring emigrants to take an Oath respecting the slaves 3

Daniel James Boone County Ky. Set. Personally appeared before the designed subscriber a justice of the peace for said County Daniel James who took the two foregoing Oaths as the law requires. 5 Joel Garnett That I did in November 1838 purchased bona fide for my own use and benefit said slaves to wit Aaron and Arthur and not for merchandise and that I at the time of purchasing said slaves was wholly and enterily(sic) ignorant of the act of Feby 2nd 1833. So help me God. Joel Garnett Boone County Ky. Set. Personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for said county Joel Garnett who took the oath above in conformity to law. Given under my hand this 15th day of April 1841. H.F. Joiner J.P.B.C Kentucky Boone County to wit: I IG Hamilton Clerk of the County Court of the County aforesaid do certify that the within affidavit of Joel Garnett was this day produced to me in my office for record whereupon the same is duly recorded. 6 Commonwealth of Kentucky Boone County Set. affidavit of Geo. W. Brasher This affidavit George W. Brasher states that in April 1840 he brought from the state of Mississippi two negro slaves a Boy by the name of Harry aged about thirteen years old, a Girl named Mary about fourteen years old this affidavit further states that he had been for some time a partner in trade with Richardson & Rodney of said state of Mississippi in a produce and Commission business and the slave Harry had been purchased by the firm aforesaid and upon settlement after dissection the said Harry became the property of affiant as part of the proceeds of the concern and this affiant about the same time brought the Girl Mary and brought both of said slaves to the state of Kentucky in the spring of 1840. Butch that neither of said slaves were bought for merchandize, they were both bought for this affiant own use and benefit, and this affiant still owns them, this affiant states that both of said slaves became the property of affiant as ofs in the month of March 1840 and this affiant states that at the time said slaves became his property as ofs he was wholly ignorant of the act of Feby 2 nd, 1833. So help him God, Given under my hand this day 17 th day of April 1841. G.W. Brasher 6

James Anderson affidavit This day personally appeared before the undersigned one of the Commonwealths Justices of the peace for said County James Anderson and made oath that he did on the 10 th day of March 1840 purchase bonafide for his own use and benefit said slaves Davy 10 years old, and Frederick 4 years old and not for merchandise, and that he at the time of purchasing said slaves were wholly and entirely ignorant of the act of February 2 nd 1833. James do solemnly swear that I emigrated to Kentucky with the view of becoming a citizen thereof in good faith and that I was wholly ignorant of any law of the State of Kentucky requiring emigrants to take an oath respecting the slaves brought with them into the state and the emision (sic) on my part to take the oath required by that act and within the time prescribed was wholly the result of being ignorant of its existence so help me God. Hamilton Clerk of the County Court for said county certify that the foregoing affidavit of James Dinsmore was this day produced to me in my office for record which said affidavit and this certificate are duly recorded in my office this 2 June 1843 I.G. Garber, was this day produced to me I my office for record which said affidavit and this certificate are duly recorded in my office this 3 rd day of Nov 1845. I.G. Hamilton B.C.C. Youell do solemnly swear that my removal to the state of Kentucky was with intention of becoming a citizen thereof, and that I have brought with me no slave or slaves with intention of selling them so help me God. Comthl. of Kentucky Boone County. To wit; A Boyle J.P.B.C. I I.G. Hamilton Clerk of the County court for the county aforesaid do certify that the above certificate and affidavit of R.G. Youell was this day produced to me in my office & thereupon recorded Given under my hand this 26 th December 1848. IG Hamilton Clk H.T. Snyder fee paid I imported into the state of Kentucky in the month October 1852. The following negros to wit one woman named Milly age forty eight years and one negro boy named John aged eighteen years Given under my hand this 3 day of Nov 1852. Henry Snyder Personally appeared before me the subscriber deputy Clerk of the Boone county court in the state of Kentucky Henry T. Snyder and made oath that he had purchased or received and imported into the state of Kentucky the slaves named in the list this day made out by him and filed with me for this own private use that they were not purchased or received and imported for sale or speculation or to the be treated as merchandise: and that he does not believe any one of them has been imported into the United States since the first of January 1808. Or that any one of them has been convicted of felony in any other State or Territory wherefore duly recorded witness my hand 3 rd November 1852. IG Hamilton Clk 11

Hill of the county and state aforesaid do hereby report to the Clerk of the county court of said county that joined on or about the 20 th day of October last import and bring into this county from the state of Virginia the following slaves to wit one Girl named Minia female about ten years of age Given under my hand this 26 th day of Nov 1852. George R. Hill Commonwealth of Kentucky set Personally appeared before me the subscriber deputy clerk of the Boone County court in said state George R. Hill and made oath that he had received and imported into the state of Kentucky the slave named in the list above made out by him and filed with me for his own private use that said slave was not purchased or received and imported for sale or speculation or to be treated as merchandise and that he did not believe that said slave had been imported into the United States since the first of January 1808 nor has she been convicted of felony in any other state or Territory November 1852. and same is duly recorded in my office Witness my hand this 26 th day of M Hamilton D.C 12

Snyder I Robert J Snyder do hereby report to the Clerk of the county court of Boone County that I imported into this county on or about the day of last the following male slave to wit named George about eleven years old Witness my hand 3 February 1853. R.J. Snyder Commonwealth of Kentucky Boone County to wit Personally appeared before me the subscriber deputy Clerk of the Boone County Court in said commonwealth Robert J. Snyder and made oath that he had purchased and imported into the State of Kentucky the slave named in the list above made out by him and filed with me, for his own private use that said slave was not purchased or received and imported for sale or speculation or to be treated as merchandise and that he did not believe that said slave had been imported into the United States since the first of January 1808. Nor has he been convicted of felony in any other State or Territory and same is duly recorded in my Office Witness my hand 3 rd January 1853. M. Hamilton DC 13
